The Opportunity:

This is where this new role comes in: The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in supporting the stewardship of the current donors while also securing the vital resources needed to realise our bold ambition and help us transform the lives of millions of young refugees and conflict affected youth across the globe.

You will be part of leading a growing and changing organisation, and will work closely with Amala’s two Co-founders and the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy, cultivate and deepen key donor relationships and boost our income growth from our current £800k towards our £3 million target by 2027, driving the financial sustainability necessary for Amala’s continued growth and impact.

Who we are looking for:

A strategic, entrepreneurial and ambitious senior fundraiser with a proven track record of securing significant UK and international funding (£1m+ annual income generation), developing high-impact strategies, and building strong donor relationships. You will be an inspiring leader with exceptional people management skills, with experience in leading growing organisations, and who enjoys the strategic side of the role as well as having a hands on approach. 

The role would be best suited to someone who is committed to making a difference to the lives of young refugees, with a strong grounding in international charity sector fundraising. and international funding.

Essential experience:

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising management role within the non-profit sector, ideally within international development.

• A proven track record of success in fundraising, particularly in developing and executing complex fundraising strategies for a growing non-profit organisation.

• Experience developing and implementing multi-year income generation plans.

• A strong history of securing six-figure, multi-year grants and contracts in the UK and internationally, with an annual income generation of £1m+.

• Senior-level experience managing relationships with multiple, diverse funders and donors.

• Experience writing successful partnership bids, grant proposals, cases for support, and theories of change.

• Experience in leading change in a growing organisation.

• At least three years of experience leading and managing a team, with a track record of developing and supporting staff.

What we offer:

This full time, fully remote position offers a salary of £50,000-55,000 if you are a UK resident. If you reside in a different location, the salary will be adjusted accordingly. One role will be responsible for the campaign management of our Big Win Weekly Lottery. The other role will be responsible for the campaign management of our Regular Giving programme. We are looking for a curious and committed Research & Policy Officer to help us build the evidence base to improve the lives of people affected by IMDs. Reporting to the Head of Insight & Advocacy, you will play a key role in delivering our research projects, keeping tabs on relevant policy developments, and helping shape our responses to consultations.

Research (under supervision of the Head of Insight & Advocacy): 

• Support the design, planning, and delivery of qualitative and quantitative research projects

About the role

Sightsavers’ Trusts and Corporate Partnerships team is excited to be expanding its team in response to growing demands and opportunities in the trusts & foundation sector. We are recruiting for two additional Trusts & Foundations Advisors to be key contributors to the development of Sightsavers trusts and foundations programme. They will play a crucial role in the successful recruitment and cultivation of new business, while also managing a portfolio of existing trust and foundation donors primarily based in the UK, U.S and Europe.

In this role, the Advisor will be instrumental in contributing towards the team’s annual income target and supporting additional planned growth in the coming years.

• Manage and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of key trust and foundation donors for Sightsavers (up to 7-figure funding agreements) via proposals, mailings, reports, telephone or face-to-face meetings as appropriate, and coordinate donor visits, dealing with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees.

• Support other teams across GFC to use social media as a method to engage and communicate with key audiences and stakeholders. 
• Work with colleagues on managing third party specialists (freelancer or agency) to maximise our website maintenance and development, digital projects, paid advertising to ensure good return on investment and that objectives are met on time and on budget.

Email Marketing

•  Act as social media content lead for major campaigns and fundraising activities
• Recommend and execute social media strategies to achieve fundraising and campaign objectives and KPIs. 
• Support the delivery of the Marketing and Communications team email marketing programme to meet agreed open and click-through rate KPIs.
• Support the team to build, design and send acquisition and retention emails using the email distribution system (Pardot).
• Support the review and analysis of email marketing results, report and evaluate overall and specific campaign success.

Global Ambassador and Influencer outreach and support

• Lead on delivering the Global Ambassador engagement strategy and influencer engagement activities.
•  Support the cultivation of existing and new influencers and Global Ambassadors. Work across teams to coordinate asks/outreach and ensure relationship managers are briefed and supported to deliver cultivation plans.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify new potential celebrity supporters and influencers, develop one-pagers and coordinate sign-off process and develop recruitment plans to bring them on board.

Project management

• Lead and co-lead specific digital campaigns and projects throughout the year.
• Manage and catalogue digital assets (photos, case studies and videos) and upload them to digital asset management system.
•  Along with your colleagues, make sure that ‘Safer Communication’ and safeguarding are at the heart of all our asset collection and creation. Undertake your work in line with the safeguarding policy and best practice for marketing and communications work.

Terms: Full-time contract, home-based with attendance from time to time at the UK office in central London when necessary or requested to deliver work plans.

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. With a particular focus on coordinating and supporting our Branch network, you will collaborate on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. Branch network and member support

• Work with the CEO to develop the SLA Branch Network and accompanying strategies
• Identify opportunities for developing initiatives to grow and develop the Branch network community, that will deliver on the SLA mission

The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace.  The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

You will be required to identify opportunities to develop and grow DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area with the aim of supporting the organisation to ensure that as many people as need it have access to DFN Project SEARCH programmes.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer

The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.

You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes.  Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.

• Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members 
• With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed

About the role  

This pivotal role will see you help deliver the Individual Giving (IG) and Retention strategies, working collaboratively with colleagues across teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving and lottery supporters.

You’ll work with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager to lead on the delivery and development of direct marketing campaigns to engage a range of supporters, from those who have just started giving, to others who have a lifelong relationship with Shelter and the cause, stewarding them across their supporter journey with Shelter. 

You’ll have the opportunity to work in a matrix way, across multiple products, and on projects that push forward not only the team strategy, but the organisation’s strategy. 

You will give supporters control of how they give, when we contact them and the content that will mean most to them. Helping build multi-channel, integrated and inspiring campaigns which build strong supporter relationships and long-term loyalty to Shelter. And, along the way, you’ll get to work with new products and propositions to retain supporters in innovative ways and build strong relationships with colleagues, agencies and suppliers alike.

 About you

Passionate about outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities, you have a good understanding of direct marketing and digital channels such as direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email. You’re also used to optimising and reviewing campaigns and aren’t afraid to share both failures and successes. Managing and influencing stakeholders to deliver results comes naturally to you too. What’s more, you excel in analysis and intelligent use of data, are great at utilising insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters to guide decisions. You’ll have a keen interest in, or willingness to learn about, product management and development. 

You’re happy to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes too, like to horizon scan and keep ahead of emerging trends and are comfortable working in matrix teams.

About the team 

Our Individual Giving team sits within our successful, growing Income Generation directorate and consists of three programmes - Supporter Acquisition, Direct Dialogue and Supporter Retention and Development. Together, we deliver a diverse programme of work with ambitious income targets that support our organisational strategy, across cash, regular giving and lottery products. We’ve grown quite a bit over the past few years and benefitted from both investment and opportunity for innovation.
