It is an exciting time to be joining the charity; our bold new Acting for Impact strategy seeks to increase the charity’s reach and impact within the performing arts community, and our recent repositioning has seen us take a step towards this. You would play a key part in helping us achieve our ambitions.

This Grants and Services Co-ordinator postholder will work directly with our applicants and beneficiaries, supporting them throughout our application processes and working with successful applicants to ensure the charity provides high-quality, appropriate support. This will include making grant decisions and working with beneficiaries to develop their support network.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with clients and service users, particularly as a first point of contact. Key aspects of the role also include supporting service development and leading on data management. Working as part of a small team (of four) you will need to be able to take an adaptable approach to manage competing priorities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues internally and externally.

The Role

As Policy Manager you will be the driving force of our policy influencing agenda. We count on you to develop nuanced recommendations, grounded in high-quality research, and to work with policy makers to raise awareness, secure buy-in, and achieve real-world change. Reporting directly to the CEO, your main responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring policy developments at the intersection of employment and work-migration. In the short term, in employment you will keep an eye on the Fair Work Agency and the implementation of the government’s Make Work Pay agenda. In immigration, you will monitor developments concerning high-risk employer-sponsored visas.

• Producing nuanced analyses that spell out the implications of policy developments in a clear and accessible manner, and conclude with actionable recommendations.

• Influencing decision-makers, including government, parliamentarians, parliamentary committees and APPGs. This includes evidence submissions, 1:1s, and working in multi-stakeholder environments.

• Contributing to research publications that document the systemic drivers of migrant worker exploitation, and draw on best practice to give policy makers options for change. 

• Contributing to the charity’s strategy, and taking up line management duties as required.

About you

This is a senior role for a candidate who can hit the ground running. We would love to hear from you if you have:

• Good knowledge of UK immigration and/or employment justice, evidenced by academic credentials and/or professional experience.

• At least three years of professional experience in policy influencing. We will consider less if you can demonstrate other relevant experience (i.e. in research or legal advice).

• Excellent analytical and research skills, evidenced by a track-record of publications (such as policy analyses, reports etc).

• Excellent communication skills, including an ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Role purpose

In order to create safe communities, RISE empowers people to break their cycle of harmful behaviour. RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people , including children and young people, can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and wider community.
 

With the main objectives of reducing re-offending and helping to protect the public, the RISE practitioner will deliver a range of interventions (individual and group), that RISE may design, commission or be commissioned to deliver in the future, both in the community and in custody.

The main purpose of this role is to support and assist Facilitators, Advanced Practitioner,  Responsible Officers and Service managers  in the administration of the Domestic Abuse contracts delivery by co-ordinating project resources such as people and equipment. The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining information systems linked to specific DA contracts.
 

Key duties and accountabilities

• To undertake a range of administrative duties, including log on cases, tracking and issuing documents to clients.
• Be adept in managing a new client based system.
• Working closely with practitioners to facilitate and schedule service users onto courses or appointments or chasing information.
• Drafting documentation where appropriate under direction from the Service Manager.
• Communicate with referrers, specifically social workers, mental health provoiders.

About the opportunity
As Head of Impact & Quality, you’ll lead the department that covers impact measurement, evaluation of our programmes, data management, curriculum development, training and quality of tutors and other initiatives that drive the evidence-based culture of Action Tutoring. With a strong understanding of the charity's theory of change, you’ll strengthen existing impact and quality processes and make strategic recommendations that develop these further. Job Description

• Co-ordinate senior meetings for staff, board and subgroups, including scheduling, co-ordinating agendas, collating and distributing papers and providing high-quality, accurate minute-taking with clear actions.
• Track key deliverables and action points and follow up on outstanding items.
• Co-ordinate interest, visits, recruitment and onboarding for new trustees.
• Act as a key support to the Chief Executive in their capacity as Company Secretary and the senior staff member, taking on regular and ad-hoc duties as they arise.
• Proactively collate and draw together evidence (eg data, policies and internal reports) to demonstrate continuous compliance with the Charity Governance Code, regulatory requirements and relevant sector standards.
• Oversee the organisational policy and procedure registers, ensuring reviews are scheduled and proposals prepared for consideration, and that finalised documents are updated on relevant portals.
• Establish and/or maintain systems for measuring and reporting on performance, quality and impact across the organisation.
• Develop and/or robustly test operating practices and instructions to ensure clarity across a range of roles and responsibilities.
• Draft, proof and format correspondence, presentations and reports, ensuring all documents are on-brand and ready for release.
• Complete information for funding bids based on established cases for support.
• Represent the Chief Executive positively and ensure that they are briefed on relevant matters across the organisation.
• Co-ordinate pricing, booking and liaison with external expertise where necessary from legal, HR, development and similar professionals.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality and use exceptional discretion when handling sensitive or business-critical information (eg staffing changes, commercial discussions, confidential strategy) and ensure that data protection and GDPR is upheld.
• Act as an approver, signatory or authoriser as delegated.
• Provide administrative support for day-to-day finance, HR and organisational administration during periods of absence or vacancies. This may include administering payroll, basic bookkeeping, rent records, staff recruitment and record keeping, ensuring that critical functions are maintained.
• Co-ordinate session and event booking as required.
• Handle delegated relationships, ensuring that all personal and confidential information is shared only in accordance with the association’s data protection arrangements.
