Key Accountabilities 

• Responsible for the end-to-end management of the Legacy Marketing Programme, including Gifts in Wills
• In collaboration with the Individual Giving and Philanthropy Manager, develop and evolve the Legacy Marketing Programme, including In Memory and Tribute Fund marketing, in alignment to the Charity’s mission and strategic goals
• Execute and further develop a comprehensive legacy strategy, with a focus on retention and income growth through, tested supporter journeys, digital channels and automation. Planning for journeys to end with a gift in a will
• Optimise and create supporter journeys to increase propensity to give and drive loyalty and consideration among legacy and individual giving prospects
• Responsible for aligning legacy acquisition and retention marketing to the individual giving programme, to maximise uptake and engagement. In conjunction with their manager, work together to develop new ideas and best practices to improve the number of legacy pledges and the income from In Memory fundraising to increase annual gift amounts
• Achieve income targets that support the delivery of fundraising goals aimed at delivering in excess of £3m+ per annum
• Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, and social media, to maximize giving. Keep track of results and flag under or over performance in a timely manner

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Join the Harris Federation as a Primary Operations Manager and lead on statutory compliance across a group of primary academies. This is a key role ensuring excellence in areas such as health & safety, GDPR, safer recruitment, asset management, and funding compliance.

You’ll support and develop academy staff, drive operational improvements, and work closely with central teams to uphold the highest standards. This role is ideal for a proactive, organised leader with a passion for education and operational excellence.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring that all academies achieve and maintain full compliance when claiming free school meals (FSM) funding
• Ensuring that each academy has the correct time-based evidence related to each free school meal claim
• Developing academy staff to ensure that each academy has sustainable processes and systems regarding FSM claims
• Leading with the central finance team any independent audit on FSM by any external agencies and to ensure that process and procedures are EFA compliant
• Ensuring and approving that each academy has recorded FSM and PP correctly on their termly census return and have the evidence to support the numbers claimed
• Being the lead across the primary academies on any new statutory developments and ensure that schools fully implement any new guidance

About us: Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. A UK registered charity, we work in collaboration with Palestinian communities and trusted local partners, and coordinate with key stakeholders and relevant clusters, to meet a wide range of health and social needs, from providing vital medical aid in emergencies, to supporting the development of better health services for the long term. We also uplift the voices of Palestinians, and campaign for an end to the barriers to health and dignity that come from living through occupation, displacement, discrimination and conflict.

Purpose of role

MAP is in a period of growth and rapid development, and as such, the incoming Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the financial strategy and management of MAP and for the leadership of operational areas to help deliver the organisation’s mission and strategic goals. The COO provides support to the CEO in areas of governance, legal and risk management and may deputise for the CEO as required.

Responsibilities

Strategy, vision and leadership

• Be accountable to the CEO and Board in the areas of finance, technology, risk and compliance, supply chain and logistics, and safety and security.
• Advise the CEO and SMT on financial planning, legal, governance and related policy matters.

Profile

Person specification

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACA) or post-graduate business degree mandatory.

You will have a strong knowledge of all aspects HR and provide proactive, practical support on day-to-day operations as well as leading strategic HR projects. The Marketing Manager will plan, manage and deliver the Lyric’s marketing and audience development campaigns to achieve financial targets and maximise attendance across all activity, with a focus on Theatre productions. Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

The NCIs comprises a wide variety of functions and professions to support the mission and ministries of the Church by working with those who serve in parishes, dioceses, schools and other ministries, and with partners at a national and international level.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
• Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
• Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;
• Advising staff travelling overseas on potential risks;
• Managing the lone worker safety devices used by the NCIs;
• Administering our Health Cash Plan scheme;
• Day to day administration of our Health & Safety reporting system;
• Assisting in the preparation of Health & Safety reports e.g., the Joint Staff Council and Health and Safety forum.

As an adviser within the HR Operations team, you will also get involved in responding to other types of HR queries via email, phone and Teams chat, and supporting colleagues in using our Oracle Employee and Manager self-service.

Key role requirements:

• This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London.
• The HR Operations Team typically works from the London office 1-2 days per week depending on business need. Travel to other sites may also be required from time to time.
• Visits to other NCI work locations may also be required from time to time.

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

We're looking for someone who has:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accuracy and attention to detail including with numerical data. You will need to be able to communicate clearly to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
• An enthusiastic and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information. You will need to be able to work comfortably with competing priorities and show flexibility in your approach to customers to understand differing expectations.

An interest in and willingness to learn broader HR policies and processes. Experience in HR in addition to Health & Safety would be an advantage.

Ascension Community Trust (ACT) is a much-loved community-based charity in Custom House, Newham.  We deliver a range of projects including Newham District Foodbank (a Trussell Trust foodbank run by ACT and two community partners), welfare benefits advice, immigration advice, ESOL classes, work with adults with learning difficulties, as well as work with children, young people and their families.

This an exciting time for the programme with a SEND school being built next door to our centre, and with established relationships with several care homes – we expect that this programme will go from strength to strength.

The programme currently consists of:
