This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Women’s service in Reading, providing accommodation and bespoke support to homeless women with complex needs.
The Nova project is a is a joint enterprise between Reading Borough Council, St Mungo’s and other local partner agencies providing a specialist women’s service in the heart of Reading; this barrier-free accommodation service for female clients; provides essential support to meet individual needs, while ensuring a safe place for residents to call home throughout their recovery and progression journey.
In the rewarding role of Deputy Manager you will:
- Work closely with the service manager to ensure the effective day to day running of the service and work with the team to provide a safe and supportive environment for female clients in which to build confidence and ‘promote opportunities’ for positive change.
- Provide supportive supervision and line management to staff ensuring high quality, person centred support is provided to clients with a broad range of support needs.
About you
Above all, we are looking for someone committed to the overall aims of the service and working with a recovery focused, person centred approach and the ability to empower individuals to make positive changes. In addition you will have:
- Some experience of managing staff and volunteers; or the willingness to develop these skills.
- The ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload and come up with practical ideas to improve services.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of people.
- A good understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable women and the problems they might face in accessing services.

About the role
The Deputy Head of Safeguarding will actively support the Head of Safeguarding & Quality Practice in ensuring that Safer London operates to the highest standards in safeguarding both children and adults. Responsibilities
Core responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as a champion of the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures and ensuring our staff and volunteers fully understand and are able to implement internal safeguarding processes.
- Supporting all areas of our practice with any safeguarding matters.
- Deputising for the Head of Safeguarding & Quality Practice as needed in leading the organisation’s response to Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and similar processes.
- Being the organisational lead for relevant policies and procedures.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of Safeguarding training for our Trustees, staff and volunteers.
- Acting as a strategic representative of Safer London and supporting the delivery of organisational communications, events, training, workshops and seminars for key stakeholders, practitioners and young people when appropriate.

TACT Cymru seek an experienced and innovative individual to join the team in the role of Deputy Area Manager, based in South Wales.
This is an exciting developmental opportunity for an experienced senior supervising social worker to progress up to the Deputy Area Manager role or for an existing senior practitioner or Manager to join an experienced team of Supervising Social workers and support staff.
The Deputy Area Manager will assist and support the Fostering Service Manager in the operational management of the Area Team with the delivery and development of the service to support a diverse range of foster carers and placements alongside a 50% caseload (averaging six carers).

The ideal Deputy Area Manager will have experience of working with children and young people in a statutory or third sector setting and have a management qualification (or willingness to undertake one). Registration with Social Care Wales is essential as is a Social Work Degree, DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualification. An enhanced DBS Check will be carried out on your behalf by TACT.
The Deputy Area Manager role will be homebased but undertake travel for face-to-face carer visits, associated meetings, training, and TACT Cymru Team events. The managerial responsibilities will be for the whole of Wales but the postholders caseload will cover geographically from Llanelli in the south west to Monmouth in the south east and up to mid Wales towards Llandeilo/Brecon.

Introduction to the role and service / project
Off Centre service provides early access help for young people aged 16-25 with moderate to severe mental health. We work closely with both CAMHS, adult mental health Services and other organisations. We aim to improve the mental well-being of young people by providing early interventions including individual psychotherapy, drop in provision, therapeutic group work, psychoeducation and keywork support. Alongside our therapeutic offer we support to expand life opportunities, future employment and offer an advice service. We are passionate about supporting young people who have faced multiple social and personal disadvantages, to begin to take back control and direction in their life.
Your impact
The role will be varied and challenging. You will be supporting the service develop and grow by bringing creativity, sensitivity and insight into both client orientated work, staff and team development. Alongside the therapeutic offer to young people accessing the services we will be looking for new ways to engage with partner organisations and local services.
Your skills
As Deputy Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the service and deputising for the Service Managers as necessary. This will include direct practice of Therapy and group work, an oversight of clinical assessments, co-ordination of other roles including support work and therapeutic staff (both paid and on student placement), ensuring high quality, effective and safe service provision. Alongside delivery, you will support both the Clinical Lead and Operational Manager in ensuring the service meets CYP and Adult IAPT compliance and participate in the strategic development of the service. You will need to be able to hold safeguarding responsibility on necessary days in Operation Manager or Clinical Leads absence. We are looking for someone with experience but also looking for someone with the right qualities.

Responsible for all aspects of the centre, including state of the art rehabilitation, training and veterinary facilities, the Rehoming Centre Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient daily management of the Rehoming Centre, ensuring excellent standards of dog welfare and customer service and whilst ensuring it operates within Dogs Trust's codes of practice and Health and Safety guidelines. The Manager will lead, develop and manage a dedicated team of staff to care for and find suitable homes for dogs, working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
To be successful in this role you will need significant experience of managing and supervising staff teamed with a passion for animal welfare and a knowledge of health and safety requirements. Possessing excellent communication and influencing skills you'll have the ability to handle challenging situations sensitively, always putting our dogs and customers at the heart of everything you do. You will be a team player, professional and sympathetic, and able to find innovative solutions to problems. You'll also have experience of managing a budget and controlling expenditure within agreed budgetary limits. Role purpose
The Collector will have the drive and experience to be part of a high performing team that is committed to bringing about social change for people living with and facing sight loss in the capital.
You will build on the existing links within local communities to increase awareness and fundraising activities.
Role Responsibilities:
Collections
- To collect monies raised through collection tins in local businesses to defined targets in the North London area
- To maintain relationships with existing site owners and steward them to ensure their continued partnership with the Vision Foundation
- Secure new and profitable sites for collection tins and respond to callouts in a timely fashion
- Use the digital mapping programmes to predict areas of high income to strategically target areas
- Keep the database updated with notes on sites and opportunities available
- Deliver collected funds to the London office on an agreed schedule
- To support with preparations for counting by a third party
- Prepare postal and emailed receipts for sites
- Ensure consumable items are re-ordered and in supply
- To ensure fundraising is carried out safely, legally and complies with fundraising best practice. In addition, supporting collection tin hosts to understand their legal obligations and identifying and reporting fraud.
Community Fundraising
- Identify and engage small businesses and other groups – with the aim of securing long-term charity partnerships
- Identify Community Matters and similar schemes in the areas we cover
- Identify and follow up opportunities to secure non-cash or in-kind support, e.g. volunteering, pro bono support, stock donations etc
- To be an ambassador for the charity, supporting the delivery of Vision Foundation’s vision and ensuring that the charity’s profile and reputation are enhanced
Flexibility

Age UK Lancashire are delivering a brand-new project, providing digital inclusion support to vulnerable adults to improve the outcomes of elective recovery programmes.
We are seeking an experienced project manager to implement and deliver this project.
The main aims of the programme are to develop and deliver a digital inclusion wraparound support package which will realise the following benefits:
- Ensure that digital elective recovery programmes reach some of our most vulnerable patients who are digitally excluded
- Support adults to prepare better for elective admissions, with the potential to reduce lengths of stay and improved rates of recovery
- Support our patients through digital technology pre and post-op so that after discharge we can reduce the likelihood of re-admissions
- Unlock the potential for more patients to access digital support such as virtual consultations and app usage, within and beyond elective care
- Increase the capacity of health and care professionals working in peri-operative care due to increased self-service and self-management by digitally activated patients
- Reduce future demand on primary and secondary care services by digitally enabling our patients whilst on a care pathway
