Responsibilities of our Programme Manager - Technical:
- Lead, plan, and deliver strategically significant technical programmes across the organisation
- Collaborate closely with the Change & Project Management Team and Head of IT & Data

The Change and PMO team sit within the Finance & Shared Services Directorate. Job Purpose

- Line managing and supporting the Tutor Coordinator, and overseeing the 100+ strong tutor cohort
- Building and managing employer and university partnerships

This is a crucial role which drives team performance towards achieving our strategic objectives and ensures the tutor team and cohort is operating in such a way that we are able to hit our organisational targets for impact, finance, and growth. The Tutor and Partnerships Manager is a varied role, reflecting the many different aspects of the tutors’ involvement and importance to Tutors United. As well as overseeing the successful execution of daily operations, the Tutor and Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Senior Management Team and the programmes team to create strategic development opportunities for our tutors that enhance our ability to attract high quality tutors and ensure their own personal and professional growth. You will also develop and refine our Tutor Impact and Measurement systems, so that we are able to make data-driven decisions around recruitment, retention, and tutor development. Age International are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Development and Funding Manager.
Working within our Programme Development and Funding Team, this role offers variety, and a chance to make a meaningful contribution to our work with, and for older people around the world.
The post-holder will work closely with partners globally, across the programme funding cycle, from the design and development of projects to contract management and reporting. They will also support Age International to build relations and secure funding from a wide range of institutional donors, and to manage one of our key donor portfolios. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience of working with and securing funds from large UK and European trusts and foundations.
This role focuses on helping secure funds for projects which align with our core thematic priorities: healthy ageing, secure incomes, combatting ageism, and inclusive humanitarian action. Main duties and responsibilities
1. Key areas
- Manage the merged team responsible for membership, data, subscriptions, and call handling, ensuring efficient daily staffing across three hybrid sites.
- Establish and maintain standards for call handling, member service and the online knowledge centre and admin case referrals with other support centre manager
- Develop and implement digital projects to enhance member services, regularly providing updates on progress and outcomes.
- Oversee member service processes, providing periodic reports on service quality metrics and improvement initiatives
- Assist in execute member retention and engagement strategies, presenting results and recommendations
