Job description

Are you caring and creative?

If yes, then our Support Worker job vacancies in Glastonbury may be perfect for you!

Sense has a great opportunity for passionate & dedicated individuals to join our team as a Support Worker in Glastonbury. This is a permanent role working 15 - 30 hours per week, just let us know what you are looking for.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is preferred but is not essential.

For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. You will support an individual and encourage them to run their own lives as much as possible – helping with personal care, supporting someone to rustle up some breakfast, do the weekly shop or visit a local café.

Here at Glastonbury we are a very cheerful house with lots of activities happening - we even grow our own fruit & vegetables. We enjoy taking part in arts and wellbeing activities, dance, music making, trampolining, cooking, visiting shops, going to the beach, swimming, horse riding & going on holiday.

If you are interested in applying, please note that we will be interviewing throughout the duration of this vacancy. An early application is advised as the vacancy may close prior to the advertised date.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. You need to be enthusiastic, energetic and willing to learn & try new things.

Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins; we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.

About us

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world. Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.

Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us.  It involves completing an online application form, taking part in a value based interview/assessment process and visiting one of our services.

No agencies please.
