Job description

About the role

We’re looking for a Sports Development officer to join our Sports team to deliver our sports development programme, supporting 40+ youth and community organisations and leading our calendar of events.

If you believe in the power of sport to positively improve communities and deliver long term outcomes for children and young people, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual to join our award-winning team, someone who is excited by the opportunity to work across a variety of Sport for Participation and Sport for Development programmes.

The role involves: 

  • Supporting young people to build positive long-term relationships with sport and physical activity. Ensuring the experience is right for them and their peers.
  • Developing a more confident and capable youth and community sport workforce
  • Capacity building youth and community organisations. Maintaining and developing relationships with key external partners to achieve this.
  • Delivering a range of sport and physical activity events, festivals and residential opportunities.

Key Information

Salary: £30,108 per annum

Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Annual leave: 26 days per annum plus 8 bank holidays and 5 ‘closure’ days (to be taken on dates specified by London Youth). All leave entitlement is accrued pro rata through the year and will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees

Contract term: 1st September 2020 until 30th September 2021 fixed term contract with potential to extend, dependent upon funding
