The Campden Charities are seeking to appoint a full time Grants Officer to join our diverse grants team.

A key appointment as we continue to drive our services, grant programmes and ongoing development of our outreach and publicity strategy.

The Campden Charities is a permanently endowed trust assisting individuals on the lowest incomes in the old parish of Kensington.  The area is one of extreme contrasts and includes neighbourhoods with significant levels of deprivation and need. The Charities awards grants totalling more than £2 million each year via programmes focused on helping individuals on very low incomes to move on in their lives be it through education, training or otherwise supporting employment.

We seek applicants who have an understanding of, and empathy towards, supporting unemployed or low-income individuals and families to improve their financial circumstances. They will be self-motivated, highly organised with excellent attention to detail, an independent thinker yet a team player and computer literate. Our grant-giving programmes are constantly evolving, input from Grant Officers plays a crucial role in shaping them.

Additional information

Place of work: 27a Pembridge Villas, London W11 3EP.  Some outreach work will be expected ranging from one-off events to placements within local organisations or community centres. 

Salary: £31,000 - £33,195 dependent on experience (generous 10% employer's pension contribution rising to 15%  after five years)

Hours of work: 37½ hours, Monday to Friday.  The usual working hours for this post are 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Some start time flexibility could potentially be offered post-induction/training.

Holiday: 28 days per annum + Bank Holidays.

Training: Training and support in post is provided on an on-going basis and training in specific areas will be offered as need and interest arise. Following successful completion of the six-month probationary period undertaking a Level 3 QCF qualification in Advice and Guidance is mandatory.  There will also be an opportunity to undertake Level 4. The Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Office role will be responsible for driving organic growth, improving online visibility, and nd optimising the performance of Muslim Aid website and other digital platforms and other digital platforms.  You will develop and implement SEO strategies that ensure our appeals, campaigns, and content are easily discoverable by our supporters and new audiences. You will play a key role in enhancing donor engagement and maximising conversions through search.

About the Role:

1. Develop and implement on-page and off-page SEO approaches to increase website visibility and traffic.
2. Carry out keyword research and competitor analysis to identify content opportunities.
3. Optimise website content, landing pages, and campaign pages for search engine performance.
4. Monitor, analyse and report on SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and SEMrush.
5. Advise content teams on SEO best practices for blogs, appeals and campaign content.
6. Conduct regular website audits to identify and resolve technical SEO issues.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience in SEO, with a track record of improving website visibility and rankings.
3. Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms, keyword research, and link-building strategies.
4. Experience using SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog).
5. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and employees at all levels.

The Role

The organisation supports local areas to use evidence to improve their services and outcomes for children and families. The Practice Development Officer will be part of a team who work with local leaders to support their decision making about how to increase the availability of services and approaches which have evidence of improving child outcomes.

As Practice Development Officer, you will support work that helps local services for children and families use evidence more effectively across Family Hubs, Family Help, and statutory social work. You will contribute to projects aligned with Foundations’ priority areas, including domestic abuse, supporting parenting, strengthening family networks and relationships for care experienced children. 

Your tasks will include organising and coordinating activities that support service improvement, designing and delivering learning sessions to build skills and confidence in using evidence, supporting the generation of new evidence to understand what works, and working with national organisations to promote the wider use of evidence in practice.

About You

We are looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of UK policy, legislation and practice relating to children’s services, including how this responds to the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

You will have experience of:

• Practice in children’s social work and/or early intervention services
• Co-ordinating projects for service improvement or practice development in a relevant sector, for example local authority children’s services, health, or NHS
• Translating complex information into practical messages, advice, and tools.

About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change. 

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act, you will require an understanding and commitment to best practice and legislative requirements related to the provision of supported housing, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into user friendly support, training, guidance and policies and procedures

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. You will provide the project management and technical skills required to support the successful delivery of the application process, ensuring that risk and regulatory requirements are considered and acted upon at each stage, maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders externally and across the federation.

As the Federation Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the Emmaus movement within the UK, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of developed initiatives.

Working with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development and wider Senior Leadership Team, the role will be central to the delivery of strategic objectives related to the development of the movement.

Background

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is the go to place for the art of hand embroidery. Based at the historic Hampton Court Palace, we offer a range of courses, from leisure classes to degree-level education, and are home to the renowned RSN Embroidery Studio. Our mission is to keep the art of hand embroidery alive and thriving through education, innovation, and heritage. 

Fragile Threads has been generously funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery Players.  It is a multi-stranded and innovative, narrative-led programme exploring biodiversity loss, textile heritage, and cultural expression through embroidery. With multiple partners, community engagement projects, and a major public exhibition planned for 2027, this is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passionate interest in culture and creativity, particularly in the applied arts. 

You’ll be key to delivering the Fragile Threads corporate development income strategy, identifying and driving vital new business as well retaining longer term support from priority sectors. To achieve this, you’ll need to find innovative ways to engage organisations and identify opportunities to maximise income from the relevant sectors

Key Responsibilities: 

Identifying and approaching potential corporate partners 

Work closely with the Fragile Threads Project Lead and the RSN Fundraising Team to: 

• Identify, research and deliver a pipeline of targeted new business that delivers maximum impact for Fragile Threads, particularly the exhibition, whilst meeting the RSN’s organisational objectives 
• Work with senior external stakeholders to deliver effective stakeholder engagement plans, leveraging internal relationships where needed to increase partner commitment and visibility 
• Create compelling and persuasive and audience-tailored partnership propositions / proposals 
• Research, shape and deliver tailored partnership proposals and presentations to potential collaborators, including corporate partners, funders and creative contributors, drawing on an understanding of client and audience needs and project priorities. 
• Liaise with the RSN Fundraising Team to ensure consistency across the organisation in approaches to potential corporates. 
• Excellent networking and relationship building skills.

The main purpose of the post holder is to develop the capacity of new and existing Refugee and Migrant Community Organisations (RMCOs) in Islington and surrounding boroughs by providing high quality information, capacity building training and developmental support.  The post holder is expected to udnerstand the values and challenges of the voluntary sector.

The capacity building project has been running for 18 months, and will continue for another 18 months until 30 June 2027 where funding will end. Renewal of this employment contract beyond of this period is subject continuation of funding
