About Us
Muslim Women’s Network UK (MWNUK) is a small charity (no.1155092) that works to improve social justice and equality for Muslim women and girls. We find out about the experiences of Muslim women and girls through research and helpline enquiries. We identify policy and practice gaps and use this information to inform decision makers in government and to inform our community campaigns. We also develop resources and train women so they are better aware of their rights.
Purpose of Role
The purpose of the role is to support MWNUK’s advocacy work to advance social justice and equality for Muslim women and girls so that policy and practice better meet their needs. The Advocacy Officer will therefore play a critical role in carrying out research and supporting the Executive Director and trustees with lobbying and policy work. The Officer will also work closely with the Executive Assistant and the MWN Hub Officer.
Responsibilities
Stakeholders and Partnerships
· Identify activists from different sectors who are knowledgeable on problems, issues and inequalities experienced by Muslim women and girls and set up an Advisory Group

Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker. You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify, and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
You’ll also need to work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and the necessary legislation, and in a way that is in line with our vision and principles.
You will represent the Fund within your local area including at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together. You will share learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.
You’ll be part of a team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of several other Funding Officers.

- Knowledge of the region and its charity sector and experience working with underrepresented communities in the region.
- Understanding of financial planning and business plans, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data.
- Demonstrable IT skills and the ability to learn detailed processes.

As a Social Prescribing Project Development Worker, you will ensure that the voluntary and community sector is involved in and central to integrated care in Dudley borough. You will raise awareness about what the voluntary and community sector offers and can offer in the delivery of locality community-based services and activities. You will ensure that the voluntary and community sector is viewed as a credible, valued and equal partner in integrated care.
You will undertake new and develop existing projects in order to build upon the established social prescribing offer in Dudley. These will include identifying volunteering opportunities within social prescribing and overseeing the recruitment and management of these roles, managing the social prescribing fund grants programme, involving and supporting patients with lived experience to become peer buddies, befrienders etc. and to support them to kick start new community led activities.
The role will involve organising and delivering events to raise the profile of social prescribing and the voluntary and community sector, with a view to building stronger relationships between these entities, GPs, health clinicians and other Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust staff.
You will work closely with Link Workers and the voluntary and community sector to identify local service needs and gaps with a view to brokering solutions and providing capacity building support where required, in conjunction with Dudley CVS capacity building team.
You will be required to attend Integrated Plus team meetings and wider Dudley CVS staff meetings.

Role Requirement
