Job description

Leeds Mencap are looking for two creative and experienced people to join our fundraising team.  We have a vacancy for a Trust fundraiser and a temporary vacancy for a Development Officer to cover maternity leave.

Leeds Mencap is a busy, friendly and ambitious local charity based in East Leeds but operating city wide.  Based at The Vinery Centre, we have a thriving community nursery and room hire enterprise running alongside our specialist services for children and young people with learning disabilities and their families.  We are an independent local charity and we need to raise all our own funds.

For both roles we need people who are proactive and flexible in their approach and who will be able to hit the ground running.  We have ambitious fundraising plans and our priority is to raise our profile and encourage more people to support us. To support this ambition you’ll have excellent communication and writing skills and be able to craft stories that inspire and engage supporters. You’ll be a self-starter who can manage their own workload and be willing to get stuck in.
In return you’ll work in a supportive team in a bright and airy building which is humming with a wide range of activities. The children in our on-site community nursery never fail to entertain.  We can offer flexible working and a generous annual leave entitlement with company sick pay entitlement from the first day of employment. Even better, you’ll go home each day knowing you have made a difference to the lives of people who have a learning disability. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious local charity and we look forward to hearing from you.
