You will bring the professional expertise, credibility and personal qualities necessary to provide exceptional leadership for the Development and Alumni Relations team, and collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues, alumni, donors and key stakeholders to make our strategic intent a reality. Your philanthropy experience, including designing successful cultivation and engagement strategies, and a significant track record of securing gifts, will help you to swiftly establish credibility across the University. Founded in 1980, ELF has been raising money to fund improved facilities, better equipment and research at the haematology ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Today we are the leading patient-led support organisation for families affected by blood cancer in the Southwest and we also now provide transport and counselling services.
Like many charities, we had a couple of difficult pandemic years which affected our fundraising activities. However, through careful stewardship and the commitment of our staff and volunteers we are positive about the future, the importance of our work and the impact it has on the people we support. We are now looking for an experienced fundraising professional to become our new Development Manager.
We will need you to support the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy, with focus on individual giving, legacies and grants. You will have a track record of engaging with stakeholders and be able to develop a strategy for increasing income through individual giving.

Role Purpose:
This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact on hundreds of civil society, social movements and community groups around the world, driving funding to where it is needed most. The Head of Development will join the central team, reporting to the CEO and will be responsible for forging relationships with funders, as well as identifying opportunities to engage with local community groups.
They will share the Social Change Nest’s ambitions to transform funding for grass roots organisations and coalitions by reimagining fundraising, removing structural barriers and encouraging institutional funders to support community interests. They will oversee the Marketing, Communications & Development Assistant and one other team member and will collaborate with Risk, Compliance and the Innovation Managers. Key Responsibilities:

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- 4-5 years in a business development, sales or client facing role.
- Proven business development expertise with a track record of winning new business and able to apply these skills to enhance our business development strategies.
- Able to use your knowledge and skills to identify and seize opportunities for growth through partnerships, projects and clients.
- A solid understanding of the philanthropic and grant-making sectors in order to enrich our strategies and client interactions.
- Numerate and adept at analysing data to derive insights that guide business planning and strategy.

For a global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Finance Officer. Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.
What you'll be doing:
- Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes
- Monitoring budgets, cash-flow, and donor compliance reporting
- Maintaining the grant tracker, cost recovery process and cash balance management
- Preparing monthly performance dashboard reports and quarterly cash balance reports for grant programmes

Prospectus is excited to be supporting St Luke’s Hospice. The hospice’s mission is to provide the highest standards of individualised care for people with life-limiting conditions, palliative and end of life care needs, and their families, living in Basildon and Thurrock districts.
Reporting to the Head of Donor Acquisition and Retention (HODAR) and working within the Fundraising team, the Legacy and In Memory Lead is responsible for managing implementation of the Hospice’s legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans. The post holder will strategically plan and deliver promotional and stewardship activity, as well as ensuring provision of an excellent supporter experience, to achieve budget net income across these income streams and grow our active support base, including numbers of known supporters who would consider or have already pledged a gift in their Will to the Hospice.
The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.
The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. You will have demonstrable experience of managing targets and income and expenditure budgets.
This is a permanent position with flexible hybrid working, based 4 days from their Essex offices. The salary is £28750.42 to £37,293.98 depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- Leading, motivating and managing the Management Accounting and Analysis team to provide a consistent and high-quality financial planning and analysis service, including 4 direct deports and 4 indirect reports
- Ensuring the delivery of timely, insightful and accurate financial reporting
- Driving an agenda of continual improvement and innovation, keeping pace with developments in best practice
- Responsible for grant management and reporting activities, acting as Finance Lead for all grant streams
- Ensure that clear and consistent processes and procedures are in place for different grant streams and providing support to the programme and grant directors
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Director, Deputy FDs, Head of Financial Accounting & Operations as well as key internal and external stakeholders
- Report to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, deputising as required and providing support and cover for one another as needed
Person Specification:
- CCAB/ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional accounting body qualification with significant PQE in a similar role (Essential)
- Experience of financial planning and analysis covering all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Knowledge and experience of grant accounting and grant management
- Experience of implementing financial reporting and planning tools
- Not for profit sector expereince within a large and complex organisation

Working with the Assistant Director of Business Development, you will lead on all major donor acquisition, cultivation and stewardship programmes and involving Samaritans Senior Leadership Group and Income Heads of Teams where appropriate. You’ll provide superb line management to the Philanthropy Officer and ensure there’s an integrated, collaborative approach to donor work with other team members in the Income department.
The selected candidate will have substantial experience of fundraising with a strong track record in major gift fundraising and experience of personally soliciting gifts of five and six figure gifts from major donors. You will ideally have experience working with mid-value programmes and a proven track record of managing key relationships at a high level.
