REMAP is a unique national charity. It brings together two groups of people: volunteers skilled at making things and disabled people who need specialist equipment. Each year, around 3,000 pieces of custom-made equipment help transform the lives of disabled people.

REMAP’s army of ingenious inventors designs and makes equipment for young and old alike and then provides it free of charge. The aim is always to help people achieve quality of life, filling the gap where no suitable equipment is available commercially.

With an exciting new strategy that will continue to place the client at the heart of our work, we seek an experienced charity sector Operations Manager to help us deliver on our mission and vision.

The Role

The Operations Manager's role is critical to the charity's long-term sustainability and is pivotal in ensuring that we remain relevant and necessary.

This is an internally focused role in our service delivery, covering clients' and volunteers' journeys. You will be part of the management team, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of our central team's support to our network of branches.

We seek someone passionate about providing a quality service to everyone and who is not afraid to drive change and improvement. Experience in being part of a team delivering a change programme that involves volunteers is essential. You must demonstrate that you are a resilient, strong team player with an eye for detail and excellent people skills. You will thrive in a busy environment and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO and the Strategic Programme & Change Manager to help develop REMAP's operational structure and support its day-to-day operations.

You will be proactive, enthusiastic, and excited about joining an organisation with ambitious plans to future-proof its services and reach more disabled people. Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.

Terms & Conditions

Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 2/3 nights away for year-round events.

Working Hours: 37 hrs—a minimum of core hours from 10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday must be met.

Salary: £35,000 – 40,000, dependent on experience

Holiday entitlement: Begins at 25 days per annum, in addition to public holidays.

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
• Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
• Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
• Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
• Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
• Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.
• Fully understand the charity’s projects and activities to both ascertain their suitability as funding propositions and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders.
• Work closely with operational colleagues to develop compelling and thorough cases for support to inform our research and fundraising strategies.

Hybrid working, working in Cambridge a minimum of two days a week.

Main Responsibilities:

•  To provide facilities management to all YMCAES sites across East Surrey. This includes 5 housing schemes and one sports and community centre all owned by the YMCAES together with six family and youth centres that the YMCA lease from local authorities. 
• u  To manage a team of three maintenance technicians (full and part  time), and facilities administration assistant and to be responsible for their training and professional development 

• u  To be the Health and Safety Officer for YMCAES to ensure that the organisation complies with all current legislation and to encourage good practice throughout the YMCAES. 

• To be responsible for ensuring all risk assessments are up to date and accurate:
•   to carry out regular building risk assessments
•  where necessary support and advise staff in completion of risk assessments
•  to ensure fire risk assessments are carried out in accordance with legislation and good practice
•  To be responsible for the maintenance of YMCA buildings and sites. Including preparation of cyclical maintenance plans and to arrange and supervise necessary major works to be scheduled and safely carried out in accordance with the project plans. 
• To be responsible for managing the online maintenance system (Pyramid) ensuring accurate recording and reporting of:
• daily reactive maintenance tasks
• planned and cyclical maintenance tasks
•  all regulatory building compliance requirements.
•  To manage YMCAES building contracts and to comply with the Accepting Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures. 
• To be responsible for the compilation and upkeep of the preferred provider list of contractors.
• To put in place and manage a call out system for managers to respond to any emergencies relating to buildings.
•  To be responsible for all ground maintenance including management of a ground maintenance worker and/or external contracts. 
• u  To maintain the fleet of vehicles owned by YMCAES, including insurance, tax, MOT, fuel and maintenance.
•  To support HOCS for responsibility of all insurances required by the YMCAES. Ensuring compliance with legislation and efficiencies and effectiveness of all policies. Also, to ensure that necessary inspections and certification of lifts and other equipment are carried out as per requirements of insurers and current legislation.
• To provide the CEO and Head of Housing with advice and guidance around technical and regulatory requirements on YMCA property developments and acquisitions of new buildings.

 To work with the HOCS to prepare a budget for central costs (buildings and vehicles) and to manage this budget through the year. 

To prepare and present a report to the quarterly Governance and Risk Committee which has a remit for overseeing the organisational risk management framework, incident reporting and regulatory compliance. 

•  Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:To manage the facilities and services that support the core functions of YMCA East Surrey (YMCAES), including maintenance across multiple sites.

To be the competent person to oversee all health and safety matters across the organisation

Delphside Limited is entering an exciting phase of change, but is mindful of the challenges the mental health care and charity sector as a whole is facing.

To help mitigate this this, we are looking to enhance our Governance and control systems in terms of our financial and administration management.

The role is a temporary role (6-12 months) to help direct and support changes of financial systems, data control processes and to help ensure the current team, including our current Finance Manager, are supported with the implementation of a more up to date and effective way of working.

Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant, but equally we would welcome applications from individuals who are qualified by experience or accredited qualification (e.g. AAT Level 4, ACCA/ACA qualified etc.) It is essential you have proven experience of delivering strategic leadership in finance, preferably (but not essentially) in the charitable sector and that you can deliver changes of processes and systems.

Knowledge of Sage and also XERO systems would be beneficial.

Main Responsibilities :

· Provide full review of current financial controls, identify and implement a new financial I.T./software system suited to service needs.

· Oversee the procurement, implementation and transition to the new financial I.T./software system once it is identified.

· The post holder will assist with the strategic planning and budget preparation for the organisation as well as maintaining the charity's financial accounting systems.

· To provide support to the Finance Manager by overseeing the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP)

· Lead, develop and support a small dedicated finance and administration team

· Long term financial planning and assisting the CEO with succession planning in the finance area of the service, including creation of a financial risk register.

· Assist in setting the annual budget and report on performance.

· Oversee timely production by the Finance manager of monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts.

· Ensure a robust financial control environment and ensure all treasury and Financial Governance management are in place, suitable and effective.

· The post holder will have responsibility to ensure the organisation is compliant with legal and financial duties associated with those of a Charitable Company reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Trustees.

· Provide proactive assessment of opportunities to deliver efficiencies in collaboration with department heads where necessary.

· Undertake internal audit of systems and processes in place to ensure good financial Governance.

The Women’s Centre Cornwall (TWCC) has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.

 PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced Support Service Manager make the very best use of our resources and ensure the delivery of dynamic, flexible and innovative trauma-informed support services to women and girls who have experienced sexual and/or domestic abuse. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing the team of Coordinators and Team Leaders to provide innovative and creative approaches to delivering best outcomes for survivors, as well as supporting the team in their own individual and professional development. Responsible for the development of new services as well as embedding best practice across all projects, the role will oversee data collection across the services and contribute to the delivery of TWCC OCN accredited training to staff and volunteer as well as external/partner organisations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that all women accessing TWCC Support Services receive a high quality, trauma informed service that meets their needs
• To work closely with the Finance Manager and Head of Services to manage multiple funding streams.
• Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure equitable access to support services for individuals on the waiting list, while creatively managing and reducing waiting times to enhance overall service efficiency.
• Build and lead an effective and motivated team, promoting a culture of empowerment, continuous improvement and trauma-informed care
• Oversee effective management of the waiting list and find ways to manage effectively by improving existing systems and procedures
• Act as a Safeguarding Lead for the organisation, leading on Safeguarding  compliance amongst the Support Services team, take safeguarding decision and support Team Leaders and Coordinators in safeguarding situations as well other members of the organisation
• Work within TWCC guidelines to ensure the trauma informed support services are safe, effective, responsive and ethical for all women accessing support services
• Support continued development of a positive data culture within the organisation, ensuring data collection is of a high standard across the projects and matches the requirements of funders and commissioners
• Completion of internal and external reports including narratives, case studies and data analysis
• Working closely with the CEO and Development Manager to identify and secure additional funding
• Leading service and intervention implementations and transformations, scaling up or down as required
• Working closely with Impact Manager to fully analyse the effectiveness of interventions for different cohorts of women and girls in line with our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB).
• To support the volunteering function of the organisation, its development and continued involvement in services
• To champion Lived Experience voices within the Specialist Support Service and ensure the continued development of comprehensive progression pathways for women and girls with lived experience.
• Leading on implementation of agreed annual service development plans within the service including EDIB objectives
• Represent the service at key operational and strategic meetings, locally, regionally and nationally
• Leading effective partnership working including referral pathways and managing sub-contractors and working with lead partners

This role will be hybrid working, with time split between the Bodmin office and home.

Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people and families experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties in South West London.  Jigsaw4u has experienced considerable growth and development over the past several years, and this new role has been identified by the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer to support Jigsaw4u’s position and aspirations for the future.

As a member of our Senior Management Team (SMT), you will help to deliver and shape Jigsaw4u's vision and strategy. It will be your responsibility to ensure that Jigsaw4u’s services achieve their goals, meet their strategic objectives and achieve our growth targets while being delivered to Jigsaw4u’s exceptionally high standards.

Under the direction of the CEO, the postholder’s areas of responsibility will be to: 

• Line Manage the Service Managers, ensuring that their teams are high performing, reporting and data collection is of a high standard and relationships with funders and other stakeholders are outstanding.
• Ensure that the structure of all Jigsaw4u services are optimised to allow for growth and support staff and volunteers (including trainee counsellors/therapists) to develop key skills.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practice within the charitable sector (and other sectors where relevant), to inform and update Jigsaw4u so that we take advantage of the latest approaches to change, innovation and development which can have a positive impact on children, young people and families affected by complex social and emotional difficulties.
• Work proactively and collaboratively to identify innovation and business improvement within the Service Management Team to define and agree Target Operating Models and oversee implementation and ongoing review.  Use insight, evaluation and analysis to continually inform and refine practice.
• Play a full part in the development of the SMT and deputise for the CEO as required.  Work closely with the Service Management Team to develop and deliver an outstanding approach to people management, building a learning culture that delivers high quality, extensive support enabling people to achieve their best as a team.
• Represent Jigsaw4u at formal meetings with funders and other stakeholders and through submission of reports and data requests.  Establish new, and strengthen existing, external relationships to promote Jigsaw4u’s profile, influence and reputation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, and adherence to relevant professional codes and standards of good practice.

As a member of the SMT you will be expected, with training and support, to take an active part in supporting the whole organisation.  Experience and aptitude to provide calm leadership and a supportive problem-solving approach to practical problems and judgements involving risk is necessary.

We are looking for an expert who can bring their enthusiasm and knowledge of autistic learners to join our team as our Aspirations Manager. You will be an effective leader, with school experience and QTS, who can inspire staff and our learners on their pathways to greater independence.

This role is a vital member of the Senior Management Team supporting the Chief Executive to make strategic decisions as well as contributing to the areas of Human Resources and Health and Safety to ensure Red2Green runs effectively.

 Key duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Leads the Aspirations Service in a way that reflects the overarching strategy of the organisation via action plans, effective leadership of staff, sound communications and personal example

• Provides leadership and line management to Aspirations staff, including objective setting, performance management and the appraisal process, delegating the process where necessary and ensuring all Red2Green procedures for this are followed

· Creates and oversees a personalised service for clients that reflects the wider landscape within the county and the sector, with the intention that Red2Green and the Aspirations Service is an industry leader for Autism Services.

· Oversees all Education Provision for those at Red2Green with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

You will have:

We are looking for a creative, compassionate and enthusiastic leader who can help us not only reach but exceed our goals for this project and be the nurturing force to help Roots to Wellbeing develop and grow. 

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:

• Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.
• Help participants to connect with nature and socialise with others to feel happier, less anxious and less isolated.
• Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
• Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
• Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.

The role 

The roles has four main areas of work:

1. Leadership and management:

• Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals. 
• Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
• Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
• Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.

2. Project management: 

• Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
• Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders. 
• Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
• Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
• Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed. 
• Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
• Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
• Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact. 

3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green: 

• Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project. 
• Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
• Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed. 

4. Other: 

• Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required. 
• Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.

Use your policy skills to help nature’s recovery!

This is a critical time for nature. Biodiversity is in crisis. More than ever, we need to keep rigorously protecting the best places for nature we have left. But we also need to do much more to restore nature and to help it recover within and beyond these places.

European sites, SSSIs and other protected areas have been vital strongholds for nature in Scotland.

This role will lead our work making sure these protected areas, our best places for birds and wildlife, continue to be properly protected, monitored, and managed.It will also lead our work to make sure these places are bigger, better, and more joined up in future, helping nature’s recovery and tackling climate change.

About this role:

This role will lead the development of RSPB Scotland policy positions and advocate them effectively to decision makers at a senior level, influencing government policies and legislation to strengthen and deliver better outcomes for nature through networks of protected areas across Scotland. You will also play a key role in protected sites policy development and advocacy, working directly with government, public bodies, and businesses, as well as with RSPB colleagues and our partners across the UK. You will have the opportunity to work closely with RSPB Scotland’s policy, campaigns, communications and on-the-ground conservation staff, putting policy into practice.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or ability to show equivalent ability through work experience.
• A good understanding of environment/biodiversity legislation, public policy and its implications for conservation practice in relation to protected areas and protected landscapes.
• A good understanding of Scotland’s governmental and political institutions relevant to protected areas and landscapes.
• A good understanding of the role of public facing communications/campaigns in supporting policy advocacy.
• Able to analyse complex issues in a fast paced environment coupled with well-honed political acumen.
• Effective negotiation and influencing skills relevant to role.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentational), including an ability to speak confidently and cogently in public to a variety of audiences, including those with opposing views.
• Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
• Able to form effective teams (both internal and external) and work effectively as a team leader and as a team player.
• Proven experience of operating effectively in a policy and or advocacy role.
