Job description

Finance Lead – Secure the Future of MINDSET Charity

Are you ready to use your financial expertise to fuel a movement that’s rewriting the story of men’s mental health in the UK?

MINDSET is a bold new charity with a clear mission: to empower men to speak up, grow, and thrive. We will be offering peer-led support, practical self-improvement workshops, and a community built on courage, connection, and growth.

But every movement needs a strong financial backbone—and that’s where you come in.

Why MINDSET Matters

  • Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK.

  • 1 in 8 men experience mental health problems—but many never seek help.

  • Outdated stereotypes still tell men to “man up” and stay silent.

We’re here to change that—with action, empathy, and tools for real growth.

Your Role: Finance Lead (Volunteer)

As our Finance Lead, you’ll be the steward of MINDSET’s financial health. You’ll help us build a sustainable future by overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and fundraising compliance—ensuring every pound supports real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the charity’s budget and financial strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with charity finance regulations and reporting.

  • Support fundraising efforts with financial oversight and planning.

  • Advise on grant applications, donor stewardship, and income generation.

  • Collaborate with the Board and team to align finances with mission.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced finance professional (charity or commercial welcome).

  • Knowledge of UK charity finance and fundraising compliance.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.

  • Passionate about mental health and social change.

  • Able to commit approx. 4–8 hours/month (flexible).

Why Volunteer with MINDSET?

  • Help shape a charity that challenges stigma and empowers men.

  • Use your skills to build financial resilience and long-term impact.

  • Collaborate with a passionate, purpose-driven team.

  • Be part of a movement that blends courage, care, and accountability.
