Challenge Partners is seeking a purpose-led sales leader to deliver a crucial strand of our ambitious strategy to benefit 500,000 pupils each year by 2027.

By leading our sales and marketing, you will deliver a crucial strand of our exciting strategy to enhance and extend Challenge Partners to benefit 500,000 pupils each year by 2027. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your main objective will be to drive sales to increase the number of new schools and trusts joining Challenge Partners. You will also devise and lead marketing campaigns to build our brand and profile.

You will be the sales and marketing expert in the organisation, with good commercial sense and sensitivity to the sector. You will be able to design, execute and monitor impactful campaigns to help us reach new schools and trusts.  You will have the personal credibility to win the confidence of school and trust leaders and the tenacity to convert interest into sales personally and through your small team.

You will be a strong and highly-skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and strengthen new and existing relationships.  As a confident public speaker, you will engage and inspire audiences of school and trust leaders.  As a senior leader you will have a track record of building, managing and developing high-performing teams and play an important role on our Leadership Team in steering the organisation and upholding our culture.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will have responsibility for the coordination and administration of a range of learning and development activities and events for the Agbero2100 London programme.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will develop robust learning and development systems and processes. The role holder will be the first point of contact for learning and development queries and be responsible for all related administration, ensuring a ‘get it right first-time' ethos is adopted. Responsibilities will also include supporting the learning and development partners in capturing Agbero2100 London Programmes learning pan-London through a series of programmes covering communities practice learning opportunities, community leadership and enterprise development.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will report to the Learning Practice Director and the Agbero2100 Programme Manager in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programmes and initiatives for the Agbero2100 Programme. The Learning and Development Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop learning solutions, coordinate learning activities and measure learning outcomes.

The Finance Manager will be providing bespoke financial management capacity-building support, ensuring compliance with statutory/funder requirements, and supporting operational/strategic management and planning resources. The role holder is also expected to support HQ Finance function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our financial hub, you will be supporting the CFO, Deputy Director of Finance and our senior leadership team to set up the Financial Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting Black and racially Minoritised community groups.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Support the CFO and Deputy Director of Finance and senior leadership team to set up the Financial Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting Black and racially Minoritised community groups.

B. Provide bespoke financial management capacity-building support to Black and racialized organisations in 8 London boroughs, including supporting groups to:

1. Conducting financial health checks and developing and implementing action plans.

2. Provide training, and guidance to groups supported on ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory and funder requirements governing the sector, employer responsibilities training, and governance.

3. Support the development and implementation of financial strategies operational/strategic management and planning resources.

4. Provide training and guidance on risk identification and mitigation and annual reports and accounts.

5. Support the delivery of webinars/masterclasses to participants

6. Support developing effective online learning tools and platforms to cascade learning.

7. Support the delivery of a proactive finance service ‘Critical Friend’ providing financial advice, support, scrutiny, and challenge to the organisations.

8. Support groups to plan resources, assess the implications of service proposals, and provide financial modelling and analysis of service options for projects and initiatives.

9. Contribute to the provision of financial support across the Ubele hubs, in forecasting both in-year and future-year income and expenditure, ensuring these are accurate, appropriate, and supported  through activity and performance analysis.

10. Support the Deputy Finance Director as required on a range of financial and management accounting, budgetary, reconciliation, reporting, and payment tasks where relevant, for the designated  service area.

11.Support the Ubele senior leadership team and staff in the development and updating of the project organisational and annual budget to ensure that it supports the outcomes set out in our strategic plan.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment Manager is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

• (if interested and a strong fit) Managing or co-managing the recruitment team

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

• Automating aspects of the process to increase scalability and reduce staff time

• Conducting interviews with experts in vetting and hiring to determine cross-applicable lessons that we can apply

• Building models and character profiles of ideal candidates and talking to alumni from our programs to refine and improve these

• Running analysis and back correlations on historically successful founders to identify traits that may define the most promising applicants

What We Need

• Comfortable with prioritization, numerical quantification, and simple spreadsheet calculations - or excited to learn these

You will be leading and managing our Business Intelligence Team, including operational planning and budgeting. Helping to develop and deliver an annual operating plan that aligns with, and supports our strategic objectives. Working with our Senior Executive Team to ensure that our internal stakeholders are informed of the reach and impact of our work, and methods of improvement. You will be building excellent working relationships with all our stakeholders both internal and external.

As a member of the Management Development Forum, you will be expected to provide leadership across the organisation, including liaising with the Senior Leadership Team and deputising for the Head of Operations as required.

You will be experienced in developing and implementing multi-channel communications plans, encompassing social media, digital, and print. Additionally, you will manage and grow the charity’s press and media engagement. 

This is an exciting time to join the charity as we embark on several major campaigns and advocate for improved experiences and outcomes for children and families affected by childhood cancer. 

Summary of role responsibilities 

• Develop, implement and manage a dynamic communications plan for Solving Kids’ Cancer UK that encompasses the three key pillars of our work, across all communication channels;  

• Lead on the development and implementation of online marketing campaigns to raise wider awareness, demonstrate our impact, grow our income, and position our organisation as a thought leader in paediatric oncology;  

• Develop and grow our charity’s’ media presence and profile;  

• Raise the charity’s profile and reach through the generation of new online and offline audiences, followers and supporters.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Events, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for looking at long term commercial growth across the Events Team. This person will implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach, strengthens client relationships and builds networks with local businesses. We’re seeking a skilled corporate fundraiser to lead on a portfolio of significant, strategic partners on a maternity cover contract. You will deliver a high level of stewardship to grow and develop existing relationships, line manage a Corporate Partnerships Manager, and contribute to the development of the corporate partnership strategy.

As Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will: 

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partners at the six-figure+ level, ensuring effective stewardship to strengthen engagement and drive incremental income
• Play a key role in developing the corporate partnership strategy, and contribute to budget planning in collaboration with the Head of Partnerships
• Research, write and pitch compelling funding proposals to renew and uplift existing partnerships, meeting agreed targets and working closely with colleagues across the organisation
• Provide management, support and guidance to the Corporate Partnerships Manager

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience in managing six-figure+ corporate partnerships in the not-for-profit sector
• Expertise in leading on multi-faceted partnerships, including strategic partnerships
• Experience working with partners across retail and financial services is desirable
• A strategic mindset and ability to think creatively about corporate partnerships, identifying opportunities for uplift and increased engagement among existing partners, fostering a strong sense of connection to the organisation’s mission
