The Head of Commercial & Visitor Experience role offers the opportunity to join a young and growing registered charity at an exciting point in its evolution, and to help lead on establishing Crystal Palace Park as an exemplar in urban park management, community-led regeneration and cultural and heritage programming whilst restoring its position as one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions.

We are looking for an experienced commercial and visitor experience professional to join our friendly team in the new post of Head of Commercial and Visitor Experience, reporting into our trading board, Crystal Palace Park Events Ltd (CPPEL), and line managed by the Director of Park Management.

Responsible for achieving ambitious income targets, you will lead the  management, development and growth of key revenue generating activities including concessions, leases, retail, licensing, catering, markets and car parking activity (and excluding events and venue hire). Alongside this you will oversee the smooth running of the park as a visitor attraction, ensuring an excellent visitor experience and an accessible, warm welcome to all. 

You will be a creative and entrepreneurial team player with experience working in a visitor attraction, cultural, heritage or park setting and a proven track record in business development and income generation.

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
• Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
• Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.

Event planning (30% of work)

• Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.
• Lead event promotion and liaise with venues, speakers, catering, attendees, videographer, graphic designer, etc to ensure events are well-attended and well-run.

Research (20% of work)

• Drive ad-hoc research projects to support GRP’s partnership-building, core fundraising and portfolio selection/assessment efforts.
• Analyse potential sectors and charities for inclusion in GRP’s charity portfolio.
• Identify and research high-quality trust and foundation leads in line with core fundraising strategy.
• Identify and research high-quality leads for wealth adviser or other corporate partnerships.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (20% of work)

• Manage GRP’s new CRM system (Beacon) on behalf of team, ensuring the team uses the CRM system consistently, accurately, and effectively. No prior experience with CRMs required – training will be provided.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s research strategy including our programme of grants, and our work to support increased patient and public involvement in research.  They will work with the Director of Services & Evidence and Head of Evidence & Research to support the charity’s involvement with external research bodies and contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet our strategic objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering successful research funding and patient and public involvement research activities.  The successful candidate must be adept at establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and comfortable working with operational performance metrics, and implementing strategies and objectives for the organisation.  Ideally your background will be in health care or working in a medical charity and you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent.  Given this role will involve managing and providing leadership to the Research team, prior management experience would be an advantage. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would be beneficial also.

In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)

The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets.  This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support.  The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night.

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.

Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.

You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

JOB PURPOSE

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised operations professional to play a key role in strengthening the systems, processes and projects that will underpin our 10-year ambition. The Fundraising Operations Officer will help drive improvements in how the Fundraising team manages data, reporting and income tracking. The role supports the smooth running of Fundraising operations by improving and maintaining systems, processes and administrative functions, ensuring the global team runs smoothly and efficiently.

This is a newly established role that will offer hands-on experience in project coordination, risk escalation and CRM management, and will support you to develop technical and strategic skills in an international fundraising environment. Working closely with teams across Lumos, you’ll be part of an ambitious, values-led organisation where collaboration and continuous improvement are at the heart of what we do.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Operational Oversight

• Oversee day-to-day Fundraising operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, e.g. GDPR and IATI, across all relevant jurisdictions
• When needed, coordinate process improvement initiatives that support Fundraising delivery and create efficiencies, ensuring they work alongside those already used within Lumos
• Manage back-office functions for recruitment, inductions of new starters in the Fundraising team, and management of contractors and other suppliers as appropriate
• Provide operational support for events, including managing guest lists, monitoring expenditure, helping with venue logistics and on-the-day activities
• Help maintain and improve internal systems and team documentation (e.g., on SharePoint)
• Support the drafting of Fundraising policies, procedures and systems used by the organisation
• Maintain records of Gift Aid declarations and support the quarterly claims process

Salesforce Administration

• Act as our day-to-day administrator for our Salesforce database
• Manage the process of recording and reporting on information from Salesforce, maintaining accurate donor and income data, and ensuring up-to-date and consistent record keeping
• Take the lead on running selections and reports to support fundraising activity
• As needed, provide basic training and guidance about Salesforce for the team
• Work with the Finance team to reconcile donations recorded on Salesforce with their records

Information Management

• Support the Director of Fundraising with financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis to inform key strategic decisions.
• Deliver accurate and timely income and activity reporting to key stakeholders, including the Chief Executive, Trustees and the Fundraising Committee and to share with external agencies such as the Fundraising Regulator.
• Maintain the risk register, ensuring it reflects activity and can be used as a tool by the Director of Fundraising and Chief Executive

Fundraising Support

• Provide administrative and coordination support for fundraising campaigns, appeals and events
• Assist with donor stewardship, including thank-you letters and donor communications
• Respond to enquiries via the Fundraising inbox, social media or post
• Support scheduling and coordination of Fundraising meetings and cross-team projects
• Collaborate across the organisation to ensure fundraising needs are integrated and aligned

As Fundraising Grants Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding from a variety of sources. Sitting within the Philanthropy team, you will contribute directly to our ambitious income targets by identifying and applying for grants and funding opportunities.

We will offer a salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience for a 36-hour week. Ideally you will be a full-time employee but we are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). This post will be offered as a permanent contract.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Laura Mertsching. Laura joined ClientEarth in 2022 and is based in London. For 2.5 years, Laura has been focussed on improving our policies, processes and tools to improve funder compliance and efficiency, and working in collaboration especially with fundraisers, internal legal council and finance staff. At the beginning of 2025, Laura was seconded to lead a cross-departmental project to align internal systems, processes and tools, which is why she is hiring a support role at the moment to drive forward key initiatives of her original role. Main Duties

• Contributing to the delivery of the global Fundraising Strategy through driving improvements of relevant policies, processes and tools along the entire funding management cycle ensuring effective and efficient internal operations
• Effectively plan and deliver priority initiatives (including policy revision, risk matrix tool development, streamlining corporate income processes) collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that relevant perspectives are incorporated and work with their line manager on effective prioritisation

We are looking for an experienced Trust and Corporate Manager - to be known as a High Value Partnerships Manager - to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will be responsible for driving our strategy for fundraising from Corporate Partnerships and Trusts & Grants, both of which are already well-established income streams with lots of great potential.
