Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the Family Linx Service has been co-produced with parents, carers, and autistic children and young people. Now in its seventh year, the service provides vital support to families with autistic children aged up to 12—both before and after diagnosis.

Role Details 

• Hours: 22.2 hours per week over 3 days (days negotiable) 
• Location: Priory Family Centre, Barnsley

We're seeking someone who is: 

• Committed, enthusiastic, and motivated

• Experienced and knowledgeable in safeguarding and applying safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

Job Description

About the Role

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.

RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management:

• Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
• Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
• Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
• Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
• Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
• Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
• Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
• Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.

Integration & Independence:

• Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.
• Support families in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing providers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing orientation on UK systems, including financial rights and responsibilities, social services, and community resources.
• Encourage social integration by organising outings and community events to foster connections with local services and other refugees.

Partnership Working & Community Engagement:

• Work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that refugees have access to the services and support they need.
• Act as the lead contact for other agencies involved in supporting your clients, ensuring a collaborative approach to case management.
• Promote the long-term integration of refugees by identifying and facilitating opportunities for engagement with mainstream services.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case progress, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
• Provide written reports and case updates as required by the Resettlement Coordinator and Manager.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of services based on monitoring and evaluation feedback.

General Responsibilities:

Person Specification

Essential:

• Experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly refugees or migrants.
• Strong understanding of the challenge’s refugees faces during resettlement and integration.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and create detailed support plans.
• Experience in working with external agencies and coordinating services for clients.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with refugees, stakeholders, and service providers.
• Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with a person-centred approach.
• Knowledge of UK welfare benefits, housing rights, and immigration services.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use IT systems to document casework.
• Cultural competence and a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Ability to work flexibly and independently, including delivering outreach services.
• Fluent in Farsi/Pashto and English.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting volunteers to achieve client outcomes.
• Knowledge of community languages (particularly relevant to refugee populations) would be advantageous.
• Experience in delivering outreach support to families in their homes and community settings.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

The Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team works with young people facing homelessness to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education. As part of our delivery, we have developed a weekly ESOL group for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. Your role would involve the planning, preparation and delivery of these non-formal education sessions as well as delivering wider 1:1 JET casework. While you will work with all young people in the service, this role will focus on developing our JET delivery for young refugees, asylum seekers and those with English as a second language. You will also spend approximately 1 day per week helping us to deliver our core day-centre service.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

1 Provide information, advice and support to parents/carers of disabled children individually and in group sessions

Deputy Regional Secretary – Asia Pacific

Location: Based in one of the ITF’s regional offices (Delhi, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo or Hong Kong) with regular international travel across the region.

About the Role

As the Deputy Regional Secretary, you will play a central role in shaping and executing the ITF’s mission across the Asia Pacific. You will work directly with the Regional Secretary to provide political, strategic, and operational leadership, ensuring our work is effective, impactful, and aligned with our global priorities.

• Strategic Leadership: Supporting the development and implementation of the regional strategy and work programmes that empower transport workers and their unions.

About you

Brief role description 

​

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of our website, email marketing, and digital assets. They will play a key role in user engagement, service promotion, and data-driven decision-making. They will manage and optimise our WordPress website and DotDigital email platform, ensuring all content aligns with brand and accessibility standards. The role will contribute to creative content development and campaign ideation, as well as tracking and reporting performance across channels to support the marketing manager with data-driven recommendations. This is a fixed term position for just about 2 years (end date to be confirmed at the offer stage)

The only thing you need is a passion for making a difference. We don't require previous care experience as we provide all the training and support you need to excel in your role, even professional care qualifications, through our St Christopher's Academy Entry Pathway.

Working Hours

Our children and young people need care 24/7 so we have fixed rotas with different shifts (8, 10 and 12 hours) from 8 am to 10 pm for day staff; and from 9 pm to 8.30 am for night staff.

You will be working 40 hours a week (including weekends and bank holidays), so meaning if you work 4 shifts of 10 hours each, you will then get 3 days off.

For Ealing location, you will be required to do an average of 2 sleep-ins per week paid at £50 each.

There is always the possibility to do overtime if you need a bit extra, this is paid time and half same as bank holidays.

Our locations cover: Ealing (W13) and Balham ( SW12).

Whether assisting students and residents on a daily basis, supporting weekend residentials, conferences and events, or working with the team which delivers our annual Foundation Celebration, this role is at the heart of providing a welcoming campus environment.

The Campus Accommodation and Hospitality Manager will lead a team of reception and housekeeping staff to deliver and administer a full range of campus services. As well as providing an efficient and welcoming reception service, this includes the management of meeting rooms, accommodation booking, achieving and maintaining high standards of housekeeping, and overseeing contracted catering and refreshment services. The postholder will be part of a committed staff team, giving and receiving support to deliver the operational needs of the Foundation in a way which reflects our ethos of hospitality, care and community. 

This is a full-time role, with some evening and weekend work during weekend residentials and other events. The postholder will also participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Key responsibilities

1. To manage the delivery of accommodation and hospitality operations.

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors from diverse backgrounds and denominations.
• Oversee the day-to-day running of hospitality services including accommodation, catering and menus, and support for conferences and events.
• Represent the staff team on hospitality matters at the Foundation’s residents’ and community forum meetings
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service across all facilities
• Liaise with Facilities Manager regarding maintenance needs arising in meeting rooms and accommodation 

2. To manage a team of hospitality staff.

• Draw up duty rotas for the Hospitality team based on varying operational need.
• Provide ongoing support, training, and development for team members.
• Carry out line management responsibilities in line with the Foundation’s HR policies and procedures

3. To manage the delivery of events and conferences.

• Generate quotes for events and conferences in consultation with internal and external organisers
• Support marketing for events, conferences, and other campus activities
• Oversee the Hospitality team to ensure effective administration for the smooth delivery of hospitality for teaching, residentials, events and conferences.
• Oversee room bookings, check-ins/outs, ensuring smooth turnaround of all accommodations between occupancy.

4. Procurement

• Manage procurement for hospitality goods and services in consultation with the Management Accountant and the Director of Operations.
• Monitor costs and implement efficiencies while maintaining quality.
