Why Access Social Care Exists
Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. 40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard - many of these children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise.
Chapter One is a small but growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive.
