Tasks and Responsibilities

You will support the Director of Operations and the wider staff team by:

• Handling day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking travel and venues, ordering supplies, and keeping systems and records up to date.
• Providing operational support across the organisation – for example, setting up Zooms, responding to enquiries, keeping our staff directory current, or helping with room bookings and access.
• Assisting with HR administration such as onboarding new starters, booking training, keeping HR records, and supporting recruitment processes.
• Helping with database and records management, including updating spreadsheets or CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and pulling off simple reports.
• Supporting internal communications, such as keeping our policies and procedures well-organised, sharing reminders or updates, and circulating documents.
• Taking minutes at meetings when needed – including Board of Trustees meetings – and making sure decisions and action points are clearly recorded and followed up.
• Supporting governance and trustee engagement, such as helping to organise away days, induction processes or learning sessions for trustees.
• Working closely with the Director of Operations on other operational tasks that may arise, which could include areas like office management, HR, IT or governance – helping to make sure these run smoothly and efficiently.

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. At this time, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.

In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. We are developing the infrastructure of the social action network of the Church in England and Wales, including new alliances for diocesan Caritas agencies, advocacy and migration. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.

Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.

The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:

1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.

2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.

3. To work closely with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on issues of migration and human trafficking.

4. To lead the implementation of the Gubay-

funded CSAN Ambassadors against Human Trafficking programme, preparing and delivering programme materials.

5. To support cross-cutting key workstreams and alliances in CSAN, especially the Domestic Abuse alliance and racial justice, in partnership with the Bishops’ Conference.

The role:
We are looking for an experienced, resilient, and proactive Social Media Support Officer to join our digital team during a crucial phase of Dignity in Dying’s campaign. You’ll be responsible for driving high-impact, engaging social media content that supports our strategic goals and energises our growing supporter and stakeholder audiences across key platforms.

This role will primarily be focused on Dignity in Dying’s campaign, but over time there is scope for the role grow and take on more of Compassion in Dying’s social media delivery.  

Key responsibilities:

• Create compelling, campaign-aligned content for X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Bluesky, using existing messaging, framing and personal stories, posting frequently. Engage with accounts with a range of views to challenge misinformation and advance our core messaging.
• Support the creation of dynamic video content and imagery, including vox pops, for social media, including basic editing and captioning.
• Manage our online communities with empathy and sensitivity, identifying new campaigners, people with personal experience, and key stakeholders to get involved in the campaign.
• Collaborate with our campaigns team and agency partners to deliver coordinated set piece social activity, including influencer and ally engagement.
• Run reactive and real-time comms on social media with excellent judgement and fact-checking instincts.
• Integrate social content into wider supporter journeys, alongside email and web communications, including scheduling social media posts.

About the role:

The Alcohol Behavioural Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioural change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

Programme & Intervention Development

• Work with the Head of operations to develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to help individuals reduce alcohol consumption, using evidence-based behavioural change techniques through our app and other digital tools.

• Collaborate with lived experience panel and Independent Advisory Panel to create comprehensive alcohol-related behavioural health programmes.

• Utilise your experience of motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices to promote lasting change in alcohol use behaviours across Drinkaware’s activity.

• Stay up to date on the latest research in alcohol use, behavioural change methods to inform programme development and interventions.

Content & Communication

• Work with the Marketing & Content team to produce engaging content for public audiences ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of advice and guidance in all Drinkaware messaging.

• Work with the Digital and Content team to ensure the Drinkaware website content is relevant and up to date.

Qualifications and/or experience

As Trust and Foundation Fundraising Officer, you’ll be working to generate income which will enable Settle to expand its reach, achieve its strategic goals and, ultimately, make a real difference to the amazing young people we serve.

You’ll work closely with our senior leadership and support team to help deliver our fundraising strategy. As part of a fundraising and communications team of 5, you’ll report to our Head of Fundraising and be accountable for writing grant applications and funder reports, prospecting for new funding opportunities and day-to-day funder administration and correspondence.

Candidates with experience of trust and foundation fundraising are encouraged to apply; however, direct fundraising experience is not an essential requirement for this position. Trust and foundation fundraising is a skill that can be taught, and we’re confident in our ability to nurture and develop new talent. Essential requirements include exceptional writing skills, reliable administrative skills and strong people skills. Applications would be welcomed from candidates with a background in communications or writing-based roles, or from other areas of the charity sector.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll be part of the small network engagement team, working alongside the volunteering and participation team, in the Communities and Participation directorate.

You’ll assist with supporting, championing and enabling effective collaboration with the network of county-based local CPRE charities across England.

This role has a communications focus and involves editing a weekly email newsletter and an intranet. You’ll be the first point of contact for local CPRE staff and volunteers with queries about the work of their local charities. You’ll organise and support online meetings and events and be involved with measuring and reporting the effectiveness of our work.

The Communities and Participation team is mainly home-based, so applications are encouraged from remote workers with the expectation of travel to meetings and events approximately twice a month, for which expenses are covered.

Full training will be given in all aspects of this role, along with ongoing support and opportunities for development.

Job description and person specification

This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses all aspects of our fundraising activity and will support the development of relationships with our individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partners, and Community/Faith Groups. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a charity or other related organisation, in a fundraising and / or marketing team, and will bring relevant, transferable experience to apply to this role. You will work closely with the fundraising team to research, steward, and help secure funding and on your own initiative. Your work will play a key role in enabling our mission to help unlock lasting freedom among women who have survived trafficking, exploitation and other forms of violence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of our individual giving programme including the planning and delivery of fundraising appeals and campaigns.
• Ensure donations are promptly acknowledged and recorded on our fundraising database, Donorfy.
• Lead the development of our use of Donorfy to record and report on our fundraising data, and manage donor relationships.
• Support the planning and delivery of key fundraising events including our annual Gala fundraising event.
• Conduct periodic and ad hoc prospect research on previous and prospective funders and identify new funding opportunities under the supervision of the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead.
• Support the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead to maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements
• Coordinate periodic mail outs to Trusts and Foundations in the small/general category.
• Support the cultivation and stewardship of corporate supporters under the direction of the Head of Fundraising.
• Assist with developing corporate partnership proposals, and other communications including periodic newsletters and social
• Help coordinate volunteer opportunities for our corporate partners
• Provide general admin support for corporate partners and corporate enquiries.
• Build relationships with local community and faith-based groups, providing support and materials for community-led fundraising activities.
• Represent the organisation at relevant events or meetings, when appropriate
• Contribute to team planning, reporting, and income forecasting
• Note take at team meetings and chase actions.
