Vetlife is a charity for the veterinary community that provides independent, confidential and free help.  We offer a 24/7 phone and email helpline, professional mental health support, financial assistance, information and resources.  Vetlife is governed by an enthusiastic board of trustees who are all qualified vets or registered vet nurses. We have close ties with all the major UK veterinary stakeholders and are based in Central London.

You will be responsible for assisting with communications and marketing, supporting fundraisers, monitoring social media, fulfilling orders though our web shop and preparing for events.

You will also be assisting at events alongside our team of volunteer Ambassadors. You will therefore possess excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and with empathy.

As Legacy and In-Memory Manager you will be responsible for leading your team to drive transformational change, through the delivery of our legacy and in-memory growth strategy.

The Shakespeare Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Fundraising Assistant to join our Income Generation team and play a central role in supporting the Hospice’s fundraising activity.

This role is the first point of contact for many of our supporters, helping to ensure every interaction with the Hospice is positive, responsive and meaningful. Help tackle loneliness among older people in care homes

Thousands of older people living in care homes receive few or no visitors. Friends for Life Bedfordshire exists to change that.

Through our befriending and group activities, we bring companionship, connection and meaningful relationships to care home residents across Bedford and the surrounding area.

About Friends for Life Bedfordshire

We are a Bedford-based charity working to address the social isolation of older residents in Bedfordshire’s care homes.

Founded in 2007, we have grown from a small local initiative to a registered charity with c90 volunteers supporting more than 30 care homes across Bedford Borough. In the last year, over 1,100 care home residents received our services.

The role

You’ll work closely with our fabulous fundraising team and be able to play a significant role in bringing people together, shaping and expanding our community events calendar, and helping to make a big impact.Whilst previous community fundraising experience would be desirable, this is also an opportunity for an ambitious graduate who wants to make a real difference. 

As a Community Fundraiser, you will be the face of St Richard’s Hospice in the community, you will help our wonderful fundraisers and inspiring new supporters to raise money for the charity, always ensuring they receive the best possible supporter experience. You will be part of the wider Income Generation team, contributing to our shared goals and income targets.

A key part of the role will be to deliver fundraising with strong financial impact: achieving a 3:1 return on investment within two years, ensuring activities are cost-efficient, effective, and sustainable.

• Planning and delivery of multi-channel direct, telemarketing and digital marketing campaigns; to include briefing in new products, managing timings, campaign budgets, collating feedback and approval from key stakeholders, liaising with suppliers and ensuring materials are compliant and on-brand
• Work with the Supporter Engagement Individual Giving Manager to forecast income and expenditure for campaigns and ensure spend remains within budget.
• Manage all aspects of effective and inspiring welcome Journeys. Reviewing data, cancellations and implementing communications to reduce attrition accordingly
• Responsible for Individual Giving campaigns, including delivery of fundraiser training, campaign briefing, day to day agency management and overseeing compliance

• Experience of supporter recruitment
• Experience of either lottery or regular giving fundraising
• Experience of managing external agency relationships

Role description:

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our Hospital Engagement Co-ordinator.

As a key member of our fundraising team, you will play a vital role in driving supporters and stakeholders to the Charity’s Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity. This role will provide the right candidate with a rare opportunity to help shape how we engage with donors, visitors, patients and NHS staff in our Hub based in the heart of the hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about making a difference and a real people person. This role will be key, as we continue our ambitious new strategy to grow our income, reach and impact. Working across teams, the engagement co-ordinator will help support our key marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, events as well as maximising the supporter journey and providing excellent donor care within the hospital.

As Hospital Engagement Co-ordinator, you will be the key link to the Charity and key areas across the hospital, meeting, motivating and inspiring patients, visitors and staff.

Main Responsibilities:

• To maximise onsite donations by driving supporters and stakeholders to the Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity.
• Collaborate across the charity with our Grants, Marketing and Communications team to co-ordinate charityactivity and implement a hospital engagement and communication plan.
• To work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to identify where collateral can be placed and make sure when items are out of date to remove these and engage with hospital staff to place new posters/flyers within the wards.
• Engage and develop strong working relationships with hospital staff members. · Devise a patient fundraising pack for us in the Hub and across the hospital site.
• Working with UHS staff groups, identifying fundraising champions within the hospital and increase the amount of footfall to the Charity’s hospital hub.
• Collaborate with the community and events fundraising team to recruit and relationship manage hospital staff as part to take part in events.
• To keep up to date records of all collection boxes held within the hospital. · To ensure that all donation processing and onsite administrative duties are carried out effectively and efficiently
• Regularly review and adapt supporter communications, including thank you letters and ensure these are implemented across the organisation for consistency.
• Support with the management of our tap to donate machines, identifying areas around the hospital where we can maximise donations and work with hospital teams to identify areas we can place more.
• To deliver excellent relationship management, ensuring a positive working relationship with hospital colleagues, as well as meaningful and supportive relationships with patient family fundraisers.
• To ensure all activity within team remit complies with the Charity’s values, moral and ethical guidelines, the Fundraising Code of Practice and other relevant regulation and guidance.
• To maintain accurate records of supporter interaction on our CRM system to aid delivery of an exceptional supporter experience and to harness the value of data.
• Provide support in the Charity’s hospital engagement hub, working within the hospital engagement team and covering the welcome desk, supporting with answering emails and telephone calls.
• Support the arts team with the promotion of art workshops and other activities in the hospital.

Knowledge and experience

• Understanding or experience of working or volunteering in a charity or health organisation.
• Experience of delivering excellent levels of customer care.

We are looking for a creative and passionate person to be responsibile for securing financial support to sustain and grow the Charity's work. A priority is to lead a £3M campaign for a new building. 

Background

The history of our Charity stretches back over 230 years to the foundation of a school for the blind by Edward Rushton. Since 1898 the school has been based in Wavertree and in 2016 Rushton Futures opened alongside the school, providing a service for young adults aged 19+ with complex needs. 

About the Rushton Centre Project

The Development Manager's primary work in the initial phase of the role will be to direct a fundraising campaign for the new Rushton Centre. The Centre is being designed to meet the changing needs of the Charity. As well as a hydrotherapy pool, we want to open a cafe which will give young people with additional needs opportunity for work, and we want to create additional spaces. The Centre will cost an estimated £4M. The Trustees are in a position to contribute £1M from reserves, but the Development Manager will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for the remaining funds. 

Key Tasks

1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet organisational goals and ensure financial sustainability.

2. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and foundations, including individuals, corporations, and community organisations.

3. Research and pursue grants and trusts applications, managing the process from start to finish.

4. Coordinate and oversee current charitable donations and legacies.

5. Work with colleagues at the Charity to identify funding priorities; liaise with key post-holders, including the Finance Manager, to meet audit and compliance requirements.

6. Organize fundraising events and initiatives, such as galas, charity drives, and online campaigns, to generate donations and increase public awareness.

7. Manage donor databases and maintain accurate records of contributions, sponsorships, and communications.

8. Take a supporter-centred approach in all your work, building strong, respectful relationships with donors.

9. Communicate the organization’s mission and impact to donors, stakeholders, and the public through presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials.

10. Be responsible for managing and promoting our fundraising profile through social media and other online presence.

11. Monitor and evaluate fundraising campaigns to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.

Job Description

As a senior member of the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) Fundraising & Marketing team, your main objective is to lead the development and management of our community fundraising programme to maximise income to meet annual targets.

You will play a vital role in stewarding effective relationships to maximise support from our existing supporters and crucially, for driving new donor acquisition to ensure the sustainability of our work.  Developing our community fundraising programme is essential to our income base and profile. Central to our work is supporting our volunteer fundraisers, driving participant numbers for challenge events, recruiting and engaging volunteers to help raise awareness of the impact of our hospitals across Bristol and Weston. Crucially, delivering on our 2025-2030 strategy alongside the rest of the Fundraising and Marketing team will be a key part of your role.

Supported by the Head Public Fundraising, you will develop strategic and operational plans and budgets for your operational area to meet growth targets and you will ensure to focus on the objective of focusing on current and lapsed supporters.

This is a dynamic and varied role where you will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing and hospital teams to deliver our 2025–2030 strategy and bring our community closer to the charity’s mission.

Key Accountabilities

Community & Events Fundraising

• To maximise fundraising income by managing and delivering overall recruitment and stewardship of fundraising groups, individual supporters (including in memory fundraisers and funeral collections), ambassadors and volunteers
• To develop and manage the team, empowering them to deliver the BWHC ‘In Aid of’ strategic plan, focussing on expanding the network of supporters who fundraise for and are happy to represent BWHC externally
• To develop, manage and deliver the BWHC Community Group plan, focusing on acquisition of new supporters and development of our retention plan
• To raise income and profile through the development, management, promotion of a portfolio of events (BWHC events, third party events and In Aid of events), ensuring maximum participation
• To develop and manage the team to deliver stewardship of in memory fundraisers and income from funeral collection
• To work with the Hospital Partnership Manager to develop a strategic approach to increase levels of hospital staff fundraising
• To manage and develop BWHC’s trading offer, including overall management of the physical Fundraising Hub and development of online shop
• To ensure exceptional, personalised but proportionate donor stewardship including continued development of product led stewardship e.g. in celebration
• To oversee the recruitment, training, stewardship and management of volunteers to provide support across the charity
• To work with the Brand & Marketing Team to create and deliver a media programme to maximise participation in BWHC activity
• Supported by the Head of Public Fundraising, to work with the IG & Legacy Manager and Supporter Experience, Data & Insight Team in particular to define, develop and deliver cross-portfolio supporter journeys and consistent supporter care.
   

Leadership & Management

• To provide strong leadership and management to the Community Partnerships & Events Fundraising Officer, Community Partnerships & Event Assistant and Volunteer Officer to ensure they are encouraged and motivated to perform at their best, fulfil their role and achieve agreed targets/KPI’s.

Strategy and Planning

• Contribute to the development and review of Fundraising & Marketing strategy.  
• Accountability for Community Fundraising plan and maximising long-term growth in this area
• Develop, implement and monitor annual operational plans, budgets and income forecasting, and ensure internal reporting is completed
• Ongoing evaluation of activity to ensure maximised return on investment
•  Keep up to date with relevant legislation and developments which affect the charity
• To contribute to the overall work and reporting of the fundraising and communications team through excellent team-work and cross-team working
