Job description

NHS Charities Together represents, champions and supports the work of 241 member charities. Following the high-profile success of the Covid-19 Urgent Appeal, raising over £150m and supporting 1.5m NHS staff since March 2020, we are now recruiting a new Assistant Director of Supporter Engagement to inspire and motivate more people to connect and contribute to the long-term work of NHS Charities Together.

Working closely with the Fundraising Director and forming part of the senior Fundraising Leadership Team, you will play an essential role in our plans to grow the charity by developing and delivering a supporter engagement strategy. You will be accountable for increasing the amount of fundraised income that is generated annually, specifically individual fundraising that encompasses areas of individual giving, in memory and legacy support and DIY fundraising, in addition to leading marketing and communications to all supporters. The emphasis of this role is to both recruit and retain the support of our donors and fundraisers.

You will have a track record of leading a similar function within a not-for-profit organisation, and of raising significant levels of fundraised income from a diverse range of income streams. You will have strong analytical and strategic planning skills, be a confident communicator, and have an in-depth knowledge of the fundraising market and regulation. You will be comfortable leading change, developing a new team and encouraging new ways of working.

You will also be an innovative thinker with the ability to review our existing supporter base, analyse the market environment and identify opportunities for supporter acquisition, engagement and retention.
