Reporting to the Deputy Director of Fundraising you will lead the existing Individual Giving, Lottery activity and help to evolve our integrated activity and digital fundraising expertise working closely with our MarComms teams.

Key Skills

· Proven strategic leadership skills that develop, empower and motivate teams to achieve objectives and deliver quality outputs.

· Specific experience of setting up and/or leading successful digital fundraising programmes.

· Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels and across complex programmes.

· Significant experience of leading/influencing the development of Supporter Journeys including knowledge of how data can best be used to support activities and drive supporter value.

· Excellent relationship management skills and understanding the motivations of donors, supporters and volunteers.

· Experience of playing a leading role in the development of creative propositions that maximise return on investment whilst supporting the aims of the charity brand

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and accelerate the growth of sustainable income from Public Fundraising within agreed expenditure budgets and maximise return on investment. Currently encompassing Individual Giving, Lottery and Events.

· Lead and motivate the Public Fundraising team, ensuring that objectives are embedded and team members have the tools and support needed to succeed.

· Lead the collaboration with marketing and communication teams to integrate fundraising with brand, marketing and digital activity and optimise impact.

· Establish digital fundraising resource, skills and activity within the programme, collaborating closely with the central digital team and leading relationships with external agencies

· Work with the Supporter Experience, Data and Insight team to maximise the effectiveness of supporter journeys across fundraising.

· Play an active part on the Fundraising Senior Leadership Team including developing fundraising strategy and plans.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.

Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.

An opportunity has arisen to join Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as our new Director of Income Generation.  Reporting to the Chief Executive you will lead a dynamic and committed team to achieve ambitious income generation targets.  You will sustain and further develop a balanced, and diverse income generation portfolio, focusing on maximising income and growing enduring relationships with supporters and customers across our region.

The successful candidate will:

Weston Hospicecare is looking for a motivated Community Fundraiser to join our friendly team and help deliver our expanding Community Fundraising programme.

As Community Fundraiser, you will encourage and support fundraising activity in the local community which is carried out by volunteers, individuals, organisations, and associations.

Your fantastic organisation skills will be used to deliver fun and engaging fundraising events and alongside, you will build relationships and encourage people to fundraise and take part in events for Weston Hospicecare, to both raise awareness of the incredible work of the Hospice and raise vital funds. 

Previous fundraising experience is not essential. You will be fully supported to develop your skills within an experienced Community Fundraising team and will have the opportunity to make a big impact on our programmes.

Your enthusiasm, initiative, and energy will make you an engaging member of the team, seeking out opportunities and building important relationships within our local community. You will use your excellent communication skills to inspire people from all walks of life as you forge new relationships and develop existing ones.

Weston Hospicecare provides care to patients and families across North Somerset including Weston-super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Clevedon and surrounding areas. You will be confident to travel across all three areas with an initial focus on activity in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare and be happy to work in different locations as required.

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

· A commitment to the work of Weston Hospicecare

· The ability to engage and inspire people from diverse backgrounds.

· Strong teamwork.

· A valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel within our catchment area.

The Opportunity

The Business Development Director will have strategic responsibility for income and growth, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise business opportunities. You will lead development of key partnerships with new and existing stakeholders, commercialisation of services, and lead the communications and marketing strategy. The post holder will lead the Business Development Team, developing collaborative partnerships and leadership as part of the SLT and by supporting the Leeds Mind Board of Trustees.  You should have excellent commercial awareness, communication and interpersonal skills, drive and commitment to promote and deliver innovate high quality provision and experiences for people with mental health difficulties.

The Business Development Director will set a clear strategic plan for growth, leading our tendering and partnership processes to fulfil our strategic objectives and maximise our impact. In collaboration with CEO  and SLT, you will inform the strategic direction and deliver against key performance indicators in creating a progressive and agile culture. You will lead the implementation and development of income generation, developing and implementing strategies to drive all income streams to drive growth. You will develop a pipeline to maximise income from corporate partnerships, (including training), whilst looking at diversifying the portfolio to generate new business

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience/success in a leadership role in Charity Income Generation and sustainable business development
• Working knowledge of Charity Income Generation and regulations
• Good understanding of bid framework, commissioning, and tendering
• Experience of Third sector and charitable trusts
• Proven experience in devising, managing, and implementing a budget, financial modelling including meeting/exceeding targets.
• Development of business cases for new or expanded income streams, based on opportunities
• Developing and implementing income generation strategies
• Digital strategy and implementation

Hours – 37 (30 hours would be considered)

Salary - £52,126-£54,242 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Contract – Permanent

The role is based at Clarence House, Clarence Road, LS18 4LB with hybrid working in place.
