About the role
We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Senior Manager to join our dedicated and ambitious team. A newly created role, the successful candidate will lead on the review and refresh of our website, e-newsletters and digital stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will report to our Director of Communications and Marketing. The role has no line management responsibility but will work closely with colleagues – including our Communications and Campaigns Manager, Digital Communications Assistant, Junior Graphic Designer and the fundraising teams – so you should be used to collaborating with others, in a dynamic environment.

Duties and responsibilities
Communications and PR
- Develop and deliver an increased presence in national media to raise organisational profile and support growth in our reach, impact and fundraising.
- With the Communications and Campaigns Manager, manage reactive and proactive media activity.
- Support the wider organisation with key campaigns such as International Women’s Day and Smart Works Unemployment Index, suggesting ideas and aiding with the creation and delivery of content on key channels.
- Develop and champion Smart Work’s brand ensuring our vision, mission and values are central in all our communications and that our tone of voice, wider identity and brand principles are followed.
Website and Digital
- Manage the current website and planned updates, and review for future development with key audiences and local centres in mind.
- Develop and maintain the overall e-newsletter plan, and implement digital marketing activity to drive audiences to our website to take action to support our work
- Implement paid content marketing initiatives, recommending content, channels and budgets.
- With the Digital Communications Executive, develop and deliver Smart Work’s digital plan, coordinate proactive social and digital media activities.
- Utilise tools and analysis to report on specific projects and campaigns as needed, providing commentary and making recommendations on improving performance.
Person Specification
- A track record of meeting/exceeding communications and marketing targets, preferably within a charity and/or volunteer environment.
- Able to build an effective brand in line with a charities values and vision to meet organisation goals (including fundraising targets and increased use of services)
- Proven skills in digital communications, including managing websites, content management systems and e-newsletters, with an ability to analyse campaigns and content.
- Strong experience with SEO and social media platforms - with strategic use of targeting/retargeting tools across channels.
- Highly organised, able to plan and balance the need to support income generation with delivering impact for people who could benefit from Smart Work’s services.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to write concisely and with impact
- Great team working skills and an awareness of expectations from other colleagues - collaborative, flexible and supportive.
- Project management skills: ability to plan and deliver projects on time, within budget to meet or exceed an objective.
- A strong creative and proactive approach to all areas of work, with ideas of how to engage target audiences and drive actions through communications.
- Accurate with great attention to detail.
- A friendly and approachable attitude, can work independently and as part of a team.

Job Purpose
Oceana is seeking an experienced Development Lead to curate, grow and diversify our rapidly expanding fundraising and partnerships portfolio. Working closely with our UK team and US-based international development team, you will be responsible for the collaborative stewardship of relationships with some of the world’s biggest environmental foundations and philanthropists.
You will help identify and drive new relationships, managing successful grant applications with trusts and foundations in the UK, and cultivating new fundraising streams. You will have a strategic mindset along with a meticulous attention to detail. Fostering exemplary relationships with diverse partners is central to the role and critical to our success. You should be experienced in handling competing priorities, delivering exceptional funding applications and reports, and providing updates with precision and confidence. You will also have a passion for growing and diversifying income streams and converting new interest into long-term, sustainable, support.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and People, you will work closely with our teams, and the global development department, to secure the sustainable resources Oceana UK needs to deliver further impact at this crucial time for our ocean. The role will also help Oceana maximise opportunities to deliver policy victories for UK seas for many years to come and strengthen our work globally.
You will be a self-starter, with a broad range of previous experience, and the ability to develop and manage your priorities in this new role. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team. The position will be hybrid, with 2 days per week from home and 3 days per week based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London or in Newquay, Cornwall. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of a UK specific fundraising strategy.
- Manage relationships and reporting to existing funders alongside the international development team and Executive Director. This will primarily be with trusts and foundations, and individual philanthropists.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with trusts and foundations.
- Manage successful grant applications and budgets, co-ordinating and collaborating with the international development team.
- Work closely with the finance and campaigns team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are consulted in grant applications and reporting.
- Manage and deliver timely reporting, communications and updates to funding partners and stakeholders.
- Oversee and develop other existing UK income streams, including mass giving.
- Identify, develop and manage additional UK income opportunities, including with smaller trusts and foundations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and People, and international development and budgeting teams to manage the income forecast and grant financial reporting.

Candidate Requirements:
Education and work experience:
- Extensive professional experience in fundraising and development, ideally in the ocean or the environmental space.
- Good professional relationships with environmental trusts and foundations
- Demonstrable experience in managing successful multi-year grant applications and budgets with trusts and foundations.
- Strong experience of managing charitable foundation relationships and delivering detailed and timely reports, and communications to add value where required.
- Experience or working with campaigns teams to develop funding applications.
- Experience of managing philanthropist and major individual donors.
- Experience in prospecting, managing and analysing research on fundraising opportunities.
- Experience in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies (mass giving, digital, appeals, etc)
- Clear experience of in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies, and writing strategic plans, and contributing to planning and budgeting processes.

St Catherine’s College seeks to appoint a new Development Executive ahead of the development and launch of a major new capital campaign. The Development Executive will be a key member of the St Catherine’s College Development Team, working hand in glove with the Development Director and Deputy Director in particular, to advance our major gifts programme.
This post is full time, for a three year fixed term in the first instance.
The salary is in the range £36,024 - £44,263 per year.
The post holder will be personally responsible for:
- identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and prospects with the capacity and propensity to make significant (£25,000 - £500k+) financial contributions to College;
- identifying the next generation of major donors, building relationships, securing five, six and, in time, seven figure gifts, and driving up philanthropic income in the medium and longer term;
- focusing on individuals, foundations, and, in some cases where relevant, corporations, with the potential to make transformative gifts.
This role has arisen at a pivotal time for St Catherine’s College; as we prepare for a major campaign for an ambitious estates project. Working with the Director and Deputy Director, this new role will be vital in developing, launching and closing out this landmark campaign and ensuring that the College capitalises on the momentum created to launch into its next philanthropic phase.
The successful candidate will have a track record of having asked for, negotiated, and secured major gifts, alongside proven success in developing and maintaining effective donor relationships. Due to the formation of the new Wales Fundraising Board, an exciting new role has been created to help deliver a portfolio of corporate partnerships and events, to identify and secure new corporate partnerships and support the work of the wider UK team. We are a small, highly experienced team who share a passion to support the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people across Surrey. This is a key new role in the Major Relationships unit to support the CEO and Major Relationships Lead in major donor fundraising, an area which has grown in recent years. This locally based post will enhance the prospect pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of major donor prospects, which will help towards meeting the objectives and financial targets for major donor fundraising. The Major Relationships unit works alongside Grants, Corporates & Community as well as Individual Giving, as part of the wider Engagement (fundraising/marketing) team at Eikon.
Responsibilities
1. Research

Identify and prioritise potential major donor prospects in Surrey and beyond, who would be capable of making significant contributions and seem likely to have the propensity to donate i.e. to become major donors.

Produce high quality, tailored and insightful research on major donors.

Look at current supporters (all different types/levels) with good contacts/connections/networks and conduct research in order to suggest ways to reach new high net worth individuals across Surrey.
2. Event organisation/co-ordination

Organise/coordinate internal and externally run events such as dinners, drinks receptions, sporting events.

Attend key events - approx. 5 each year and sometimes evenings/weekends – welcoming guests and ensuring a positive experience.

3. Admin

Day-to-day support for MDs, MDPs and key influencers (KIs) which could include:

We are looking for a skilled admin and people orientated person to support our two Joint CEOs (JCEOs) on the journey to further Cardboard Citizens’ ambitions as a dynamic, flexible and forward-thinking social justice charity and theatre company, working with people who have experience of homelessness and poverty or inequity.
This role works to support the Executive Director / JCEO primarily, with some diary support given to the Artistic Director / JCEO. The main focus will be to support governance, finance, fundraising, operations and general management of Cardboard Citizens. The Development Team at The BRIT School is focused and experienced – with colleagues having worked in award-winning not-for-profits and national arts centres - consisting of the Director of Development, Trusts and Grants Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Trusts and Grants Officer, Corporate Partnerships Officer and Development Administrator, with a supportive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

As Communications Manager you’ll be creating content that targets our specific donor group, supports the stewardship of those donors and implements digital marketing plans designed to optimise lead generation and conversion.

We fundraise on behalf of the small charities on our platform, targeting donors that would normally be out of their reach. We do this by innovating in the fundraising space with a particular focus on corporate partnerships and pioneering events.
We work a lot with the finance sector, and we aim to produce communications that cut through and offer a fresh voice in this space.

Requirements
This role would suit someone with a strong history of using the power of words to inspire positive action, an eye for solid design and experience of digital marketing to business audiences (either as part of a B2B or charity corporate fundraising programme).
The successful candidate will enjoy versatility and the creativity that comes from working in a small team with big ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for LinkedIn, original articles, guides, website, email newsletters, social posts, and impact reports
- Marketing and Fundraising Collateral: Production of collateral for Dot Impact, Midnight Madness and other new events, including pitch decks and brochures.
- Testing Fundraising Ideas: Produce marketing materials for new fundraising initiatives and pilots.
- Marketing Activity: Implementation of existing marketing plan which includes organising talks, events, and webinars to engage new audiences and seeking opportunities for third-party posts, articles, and podcast appearances.
- Donor Pipeline and Stewardship: Work with the Development & Partnerships Manager to produce content for lead generation and donor stewardship.
- Digital Marketing: Run paid acquisition campaigns, optimise user journeys, and use Google Analytics to track effectiveness.

Job Purpose: The Individual Giving and Legacies Manager will lead the development and execution of our mass marketing activity to grow our supporter base, and maximise every individual donor’s lifetime value to Simon Community.
By creating powerful fundraising campaigns, optimising supporter journeys, and diversifying income streams, including through digital channels, we can foster a strong sense of connection and loyalty among our valued supporters, and inspire a movement of support to end homelessness across NI.
Essential Criteria:
- At least 3 years proven experience in a fundraising, brand, or marketing role, including with elements of digital marketing, data analysis or insight.
- Proven track record of exceeding targets (financial or otherwise).
- Proven ability to write engaging copy for different audiences across varied channels.
- Significant experience and confidence in using a CRM and building processes for storage and reporting.
- Experience of budget and project management.
- Excellent working knowledge of digital marketing tactics and channels.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in a fundraising/charity context.
- Line Management experience.
- Proven track record of using data analysis techniques (and audience insight) to drive decision making.
- Experience of using Canva or MS Publisher
- Experience of using Raisers Edge NXT database.
- An understanding of the issues affecting homelessness and/or voluntary sector in Northern Ireland.
