Job description

Finance Assistant
Part-time, 3 days per week (22.5 hours)
Hybrid and working from their Hammersmith office just 1 day/week.
£30,000 FTE (£18,000 actual)

Are you a detail-driven finance professional with a passion for precision and purpose?
Charity People is proud to be partnering with Chain of Hope, an international medical charity that provides life-saving treatment for children with heart disease in developing countries. In addition to direct care, they build cardiac services overseas through training, infrastructure development, and provision of vital medical equipment.

We're recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their small, dedicated team and support the smooth running of their financial operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a mission that truly saves lives.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and supporting day-to-day bookkeeping. You'll manage the finance inbox, raise purchase orders, and ensure supplier invoices and credit card entries are correctly recorded using Sage 50.

This is a fast-paced environment, so we're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a finance/purchase ledger role within a charity is essential
  • Proficiency in Sage 50
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative and accountable team player

Why Join Chain of Hope?

  • Hybrid working with access to a beautiful, modern office at FORA Hammersmith
  • On-site gym, baristas, stocked kitchens, and vibrant communal spaces
  • Be part of a small, passionate team making a global impact

If you're ready to bring your finance skills to a cause that saves lives, we'd love to hear from you.

Closing date: Friday 8th August
Interviews: ASAP

Charity People is a forward-thinking, inclusive organisation that actively and deliberately promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. We know organisations thrive when inclusion is at the forefront. We evidence our commitment by matching charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates irrespective of background-e.g. age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we believe that greater diversity leads to greater results for the charities we work with.
