As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.
Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.

Purpose of the position
We’re looking for an experienced prospect researcher with strong analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of the global philanthropic space to join our Private Sector Fundraising team. You will be joining a growing major gifts programme with ambitious goals and a strong new business focus.
You will have prospect research experience in a global health, scientific or medical non-profit setting, and the ability to move comfortably between the worlds of research and philanthropy and to identify opportunities beyond the obvious.
The successful candidate will develop and implement an effective prospect research strategy supporting DNDi’s philanthropic ambitions, identifying new leads from foundations, philanthropists, trusts and companies, philanthropy collaboratives and funding calls. Specific Job Responsibilities
1. Strategy and planning:
· Assist in developing a proactive and growth-focused prospect research strategy that aligns with DNDi's fundraising plans and strategic priorities.
· Develop and socialise processes and procedures relating to prospect research.
· Contribute to developing a visibility strategy for DNDi through the identification and tracking of prizes and relevant philanthropic and global health conferences.
2. Prospect identification:
· Identify and qualify prospective donors by cross-referencing information from our supporter database, external databases, funding calls, media sources, and biographical references.
· Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors and contacts.
· Build, track, and report on prospective donors for various funding priorities, ensuring they meet fundraising ambitions.
· Develop strong relationships internally, promoting the effective use of research information.
3. Prospect management:
· Make data-driven recommendations to support the cultivation of new prospects and the management of key donor relationships.
· Ensure fundraisers have dynamic prospect portfolios optimized to meet fundraising targets.
· Provide timely, accurate, and relevant information to fundraisers and organisational leaders as required, including meeting briefings.
4. Communication and internal capacity building:
· Present research results through written reports and presentations for various audiences.
· Present on aspects of prospect research and good practices to internal audiences
5. Knowledge capture/retention, compliance and due diligence:
· Input and maintain accurate information in Salesforce to support ongoing relationships and work with relevant team members on the systemization of knowledge capture, pipeline reporting and prospect ranking systems in Salesforce.
· Conduct ethical screening and due diligence research on prospects and donors to ensure compliance with DNDi's policies.
· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in relation to data processing and use of prospect management tools.
6. Resourcing:
· Manage relationships with relevant external suppliers, including contractual and budgetary aspects, and oversee the use of prospect management tools.
· Monitor expenditure related to prospect research resources and make recommendations for resource optimization.

Skills and Attributes
· Excellent understanding of the global philanthropic landscape and strong in-depth knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in at least 3-4 countries. Strong knowledge of the US, UK landscape is vital and knowledge of additional markets (Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands or Sweden) highly regarded, as is some prospect research experience focused on developing markets.

The purpose of the role is to drive and deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy in order to support the work of Life. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering the end-to-end experience of existing supporters as well as attaining new supporters.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and leading the Individual Giving Team, the post holder will work closely with colleagues across the fundraising and marketing teams to; create, test, monitor and evaluate appeals and campaigns, lead on Legacy (and in-memoriam giving) lottery and raffle and other income streams associated with individual giving. The post holder will be working to and reporting on ambitious income and expenditure targets and ensuring that supporters have a positive experience of the charity.
The postholder will lead a Donor Administration Manager to deliver on a positive donor/supporter experience with the aim of retention of current supporters for the long term as well as acquisition of new donors, maximising the potential of all of our supporters. It forms a central part of the overall fundraising strategy, with the ultimate aim of growing our individual giving income to increase the impact of the charity and benefit those needing support in pregnancy, pregnancy loss or in the early years of a baby.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop and implement a cohesive supporter journey strategy focussed on supporter needs and continuous re-engagement
· Champion best practice and stewardship with individual supporters
· Grow one-off donations and regular gifts and maximise the acquisition of new supporters through direct mail and digital marketing
· Co-ordinate all communications and messaging targeted at existing supporters
· Measure performance against campaigns and appeals
· Lead on marketing and communications around Legacy giving and the Legacy and In-Memoriam supporters journey

Research & Service Development
· Identify individual giving trends and use this knowledge to continually develop new products for the charity
· In line with GDPR and complying with all legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice: ensure fundraising and campaigns are insight-led and focused on long-term growth
· Oversee the compliance of third party agencies to ensure activity is carried out in line with the values of Life, the Fundraising Code of Practice and the law
· Input fully into the wider fundraising strategy by working closely with fellow managers and the team as a whole
Information Management
· Ensure data and information systems are up to date and provide an accurate picture of supporter segmentation, communications, preferences, permissions, requests, gifts and pledges
· Create regular and detailed reports to monitor individual giving performance against campaigns and targets
· Support the maintenance of the database to ensure records are updated, procured and implemented.
Personal and People Development
· Ensure personal continuing professional development is maintained, including attending relevant internal and external development training and workshops.
· Ability to manage own objectives and areas of responsibility within charity projects to ensure deadlines and financial targets are met.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promoting our work and building relationships with institutional donors
Supporting the work of the Head of Institutional Relations, you will have sound knowledge of the donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, and contribute proactively to influencing their funding strategies and priorities. Duties include:
· Maintain a good understanding of HI’s programmes, strategy and approach and communicate this externally.
· Identify and build relationships with a portfolio of large public and private institutional donors and their key suppliers (e.g. INGOs and for-profit development companies), mobilising colleagues from UK and across the global organisation as required.
· Work with country programmes to develop country-level action plans to engage with local representatives of UK donors and partners, in order to strengthen in-country relationships, influence donors’ country-level plans and access in-country funding opportunities. This will also involve supporting the development of multi-year operational plans and advise on the funding possibilities offered by UK institutional donors.
· Anticipate future trends and the expectations of the donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, influence their policies and strategies, and negotiate and consult with them on institutional funding matters, in liaison with the appropriate colleagues from the UK team and federal network.

Generate and manage institutional funding from UK donors
You will follow and champion HI’s internal institutional funding procedures to identify and analyse funding opportunities from UK sources, contribute to project submissions, and carry out grant management duties. You will:
· Monitor, identify, analyse and communicate all relevant funding opportunities from donors in your portfolio (including development and humanitarian grant opportunities and commercial contracts). This will involve facilitating internal go/no go decision-making for new opportunities and advising, and supporting programme colleagues on positioning and consortium-building when relevant.
· Lead the review and analysis of the requirements in new funding agreements and contracts, advise internal stakeholders on compliance and ensure appropriate contract negotiation and due diligence processes are followed.
· Implement internal procedures for contract/grant management and support the submission of reporting and payment requests according to donor requirements.
Improve our track record for UK institutional funding
You will be responsible for increasing internal understanding of UK donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, supporting high quality strategic submissions and donor compliance. You will:
· Create internal communications, train and brief finance, programme and technical staff (including country programmes) on the donors in your portfolio, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to comply with donor rules, understand donor priorities and focus areas, and maximise the potential for funding.
· Support proposal development, advising on donor requirements, expectations and preferences.
· Build strong relationships and internal links with technical and programme teams and contribute to internal working groups on issues related to institutional funding.
Other duties
· Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues and the Federal Institutional Funding, and Operations teams.
· Actively contribute to the HI UK operational plan and team work plans, and internal staff meetings.
· Ensure high quality, accurate internal reporting and information management for your portfolio.

Purpose of job: To work as a key part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, line managed by the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, and accountable to the Museum’s Director. This role will bring in vital income from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individuals to deliver the business plan. This role has responsibility for achieving income targets by collaborating across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support.
Working pattern: 35 hours per week, usually worked from 10 – 6pm. Flexible/hybrid working offered for up 40% of hours to be worked from home.

Who we are looking for:

Key objectives in first 6 months:

Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Identification, Communication and Cultivation
- Identify, research and develop a pipeline of trusts and foundations prospects, ensuring that relationships are well managed and planned for first, second and third requests for funding, as appropriate.
- Identify, research and approach corporate partnership prospects to support agreed priorities such as exhibitions and programmes
- Work closely with colleagues in Events, Commercial and Communications to promote corporate sponsorship packages, including working on communications and campaigns that encourage uptake and renewal

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. Across a year the team raises vital income for exhibitions, learning and participation activities, events, capital projects, an established endowment fund and unrestricted revenue income.

Role Purpose

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research and Identification of Funders

Terms and Conditions
Working Hours
The working hours shall be 35 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks). Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.
Annual Leave
25 days per annum as well as statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years service.
Probation
The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
Season Ticket Loan
Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.
Pension
The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.
