Mind in Croydon is s recruiting a Rapid Responder Practitioner to support the delivery of Building Brighter Futures (BBF), an innovative partnership programme designed to improve access to early mental health support for young people in Croydon.

This role will provide timely, relational and trauma-informed support to young people aged 15–19 experiencing emotional distress, emerging mental health needs and complex disadvantage. Working as part of a multi-agency team, the postholder will act as a key point of early engagement, offering brief interventions and supporting young people to access the right pathway at the right time.

The post is hosted within the newly refurbished Mind in Croydon’s Counselling Service, with day-to-day work coordinated through the BBF partnership to ensure a consistent and joined-up response across organisations.

Rapid Response Practitioner

Building Brighter Futures is a three-year programme (funded until 31 March 2029) focused on early intervention for young people aged 15–19 experiencing complex disadvantage. The programme brings together a partnership of voluntary sector organisations, including Croydon Voluntary Action, Reedham Children’s Trust, Mind in Croydon, Off The Record, Croydon Drop In, Palace for Life and Reaching Higher.

The programme aims to reduce waiting times, prevent escalation of need, and improve young people’s experience by providing rapid access to relational, non-clinical support and clear pathways into longer-term or specialist services, where required.

The Rapid Responder Practitioner role is central to the programme’s front-door and allocation model, ensuring young people receive timely contact, appropriate assessment and coordinated support, while minimising duplication and repetitions.

While the role is hosted within Mind in Croydon, it operates as part of a multi-agency delivery model, with close coordination, shared practice standards and collective accountability across the partnership.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Retail Van Driver & stock Collector to join the Retail team. Your role is to ensure the careful movement, collection and delivery in liaison with Shop Managers, of all merchandise within a dedicated boundary as directed by the Retail Operations Manager.

• Responsible for the collection and delivery of donated goods to the required location within agreed timescales and to agreed targets.

As a Co-ordinator for our RNID Near You community service in Brighton and West Sussex, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering the community service across the area through drop-ins offering:

· practical hearing aid support

· information on hearing loss and tinnitus

What you will be doing 

· You will be responsible for co-ordinating up to 20 drop-in sessions and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service across Brighton and West Sussex.

· You will have responsibility for the set up and running of these sessions and have good local knowledge of Brighton and West Sussex and seek new opportunities for delivery of the RNID Near You services.

· We are looking to appoint a motivated person with a keen interest in supporting people with their hearing loss. While you will be home based, there will be regular travel to all venues where we will provide drop-in sessions in community and care settings.

· You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals and people we support.

· You have experience managing people or volunteers and events, your own workload and are able to work evenings/ weekends if required. You are able to physically assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, giving clear guidance and taking into account individual wishes and health needs.

· You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word.

About the Service(s):

The Listening Lounge is a collaborative service delivered in partnership by Mind in Salford, Start Inspiring Minds, and the Home-Based Treatment Team (HBTT) within the NHS Mental Health Trust. The service operates as a weekday drop-in provision, currently available from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, for individuals experiencing a self-defined mental health crisis.

The service is staffed by Recovery Workers and Peer Support Workers, with on-site managerial support to ensure safe, responsive, and high-quality delivery. It provides a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where individuals can access immediate, person-centred support, with a focus on listening, de-escalation, and connecting people to appropriate ongoing support where needed.

Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (SNMHT) is a community mental health service delivered in partnership between Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH), Mind in Salford, Six Degrees, Wellbeing Matters, and START. The service is jointly funded by GMMH, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and Salford Primary Care Networks.

SNMHT is a multidisciplinary service that brings together a wide range of professional and lived experience roles. The team includes occupational therapists, nurses, recovery workers, psychiatrists, social workers, peer mentors, and a comprehensive psychology team.

Working collaboratively, the service supports adults with mental health needs within the community, offering recovery focused support. We do mental health support differently. Our approach is rooted in people’s strengths, skills and aspirations. By placing these at the centre of our work, we support individuals to aid their recovery, build resilience, and stay well as active members of their communities.

About the role:

We are seeking a Peer Support Worker who can draw upon their lived or living experience of mental health difficulties to help support service users in a Listening Lounge and within Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (SNMHT), formerly known as Living Well.

The successful applicant will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team and will:

• Take part in case discussions, offering a valuable non-clinical, lived-experience perspective
• Co facilitate group work with service users
• Work alongside keyworkers to provide practical, relational support to individuals accessing the service

Role overview 

The purpose of the role is to assist some of the most vulnerable people in our society with immigration legal advice and representation. The focus of the legal work is on non-legal aid funded matters, representing people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and otherwise have no access to legal advice, to regularise their immigration status in the UK.

We are only considering applicants with relevant legal experience. Qualifications needed are IAA, IAAS or Solicitor with 1 year+ immigration experience. 

Key Responsibilities

Case management 

1. Manage own caseload, working to advance the best interests of the client
2. Adhere to standards set out by IAA/SRA
3. Provide advice and representation up to IAA level 2/3
4. Engage with the Line Manager to create and follow a training plan to ensure compliance with IAA CPD, keeping up to date with changes in law, policy and guidance to ensure clients receive accurate and high-quality advice
5. Liaise directly with the UKVI and related governmental agencies
6. Complete forms, letters and immigration applications 
7. Liaise with and refer clients to Legal Aid Solicitors or other advisers, as appropriate
8. Manage clients’ expectations by discussing deadlines, outcomes and timing 
9. Deliver legal advice outreach surgeries/drop in as and when required 
10. Progress cases in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements
