To act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the charity; building strong relationships across a variety of networks to support and develop the public presence of the charity and community fundraising income. The role may involve evening and weekend working to support community fundraising activities and events, and working hours are flexible to reflect this.
Key Duties
Fundraising:
- Be the primary point of contact for new and existing supporters.
- Proactively look for opportunities to support and develop local fundraising initiatives.
- Develop and deliver a varied range of fundraising activities to a range of audiences, including events and campaigns.
- Act as an ambassador for the charity with local community groups and organisations.
- Work with the wider team to develop relationships with local businesses and corporate partners.
- Work to set targets and generate income. Work with the wider team to recruit and support local fundraising volunteers.
- Maintain up to date records of communication with funders; income generated and how this compares to budget.
- Keep up to date with the latest fundraising trends, regulations and news.
Marketing & Communications:
- Develop the charity’s public presence and brand.
- Produce marketing materials to represent the charity and its projects, including online newsletters, print media and merchandise.
- Manage the charity’s digital content including social media channels and website.
- Support with e-commerce and support the enterprise team to maximise opportunities.
- Represent the organisation at networking events, meetings and other outside events, as necessary.
Other:
- Supporting other members of the team to deliver activities; including, but not limited to, activity days and evening clubs.
- To help develop new and innovative ideas to help our target groups and meet our charitable objectives.
- To carry out any other duties within the general scope of the post, as directed by your line manager/the Co-Directors.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Have a sound education to A-level standard or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experience of supporting community fundraisers; have a good understanding of community and events fundraising and supporter care.
- Experience of developing marketing materials in a variety of mediums.
- Be adept in using a variety of social media channels and platforms.
Skills:
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the charity in a variety of settings.
- Be able to prioritise and demonstrate excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent IT skills in a variety of website platforms and applications which should include Microsoft Office, Wix and WordPress.

The role:
This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Hull. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust team members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Hull, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include creativity, resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. JOB PURPOSE:
- To coordinate support for children aged 2-5 with SEND at Springfield Park Road Nursery or Mini-Springers Nursery, working alongside nursery staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the nursery provides high quality inclusive EYFS provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS Framework.
· To promote an ethos of inclusive practice within the nursery, high expectations for children with SEND and the best possible outcomes.
- To provide advice and support to Children’s Centre colleagues in relation to SEND.
- To provide advice and support to other staff within the Springfield Project in relation to SEND, including Seedlings Stay and Play.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the SEND provision for the nursery
· Work with the nursery manager to regularly review the SEND policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented.
· Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting’s SEND policy, and for coordinating provision across the setting.
· Implement SEN support and the graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, review to meet the outcomes identified for the child, including writing and reviewing SEN support plans as well as statutory paperwork, such as EHC needs assessment requests (with support from Area SENCO).
· Apply for ISEY funding for individual children and ensure funding is implemented to support children effectively.
Support colleagues
· Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand:
o their responsibilities to children with SEN
o how to work actively and effectively within the Assess Plan Do Review cycle.
· Support individual practitioners in implementing the approach for individual children
· Identify and use training and other sources of support available to colleagues.
· Support the nursery manager and staff during inspections by regulatory bodies and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.
Partnership working
· Make sure parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEN decision-making process.
· Involve parents in the discussion of any early concerns, in identifying any SEN, and at all stages of the graduated approach.
· Ensure parents are closely involved and that their insights inform action taken by the setting.
· Work closely with the Area SENCO and other professionals from education, health and social care agencies as required, making referrals as needed.
· Understand the Birmingham local offer.
· Work alongside Springfield Children’s Centre in running a stay & play for children with SEND
· Provide advice on SEND to Children’s Centre colleagues.
· Provide advice on SEND to other Project staff and volunteers including Seedlings Stay and Play group and our Child Friendly Neighbourhood team.

Grant Operations (55%)
- Lead on the implementation of a recent grantmaking review, conducted by the Impact Team, including revision of key grant templates and processes: due diligence, proposal development, assessment rubric, recommendation reports, reporting, partner surveys and grant exit.
- Lead on the summary of progress towards our grantmaking KPIs, providing detailed reports and recommendations for the SLT, Impact Committee and Trustees on a quarterly basis.
- Lead on the management and development of our Impact Committee, a formal governance body overseeing our grantmaking and impact, comprising 4 Youth Advisory Board members and 4 Trustees.
- Ensure that the Youth Advisory Board has sufficient opportunity to feed into (and shape) activities of the impact team, by collaborating with the Senior Youth Participation Manager
- Support the development and implementation of our new CRM system, ensuring data is captured by Partnership Managers and kept up to date.

- Work with the Impact Team to implement (and continually improve) our Funder Plus programme, ready for delivery in 2026/27 - with input and consultation from a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Meanwhile in 2025/26, support the Partnership Managers in their aim to provide additional support beyond financial grants which help our grantees to build their capacity, leadership potential and resilience - this is likely to involve regular communication with the fundraising team and liaison with our major corporate partners
Research, Learning and Evaluation (15%)
- Lead on the data collection and impact reporting processes which have been developed to capture learning, evidence and impact data from our programmatic work.
- Support our partnership managers to use the data collection and impact reporting processes, ensuring we’re able to collect and analyse key impact data on a regular basis
- Work with our Head of Strategy and Learning and colleagues in the Impact team to help us clearly and confidently articulate the difference we’re making as a foundation.

This role would enable you to get involved in designing and presenting new projects from livelihoods to mental health, from Nigeria to Nepal. No need for experience in international development, or even the charity sector; the main thing is to have experience in office / project administration, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, and to be willing to learn and contribute.
Purpose
To provide administrative support to the CBM UK Programme Development Department, especially to its Programme Funding team; enabling efficient management of stakeholder relationships and submission of quality proposals to institutional donors. This support will contribute to the funding and effective delivery of disability-inclusive development and humanitarian programmes in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs).
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Programme Funding, the majority of the Programme Officer’s time will be spent supporting the Programme Funding team, which is part of the Programme Development (PD) Department.
Programme Funding, Programme Finance and Programme Management work very closely together as the PD Department, covering the whole Project Cycle including design, contracting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. As well as supporting Programme Funding (75-80% of the role), you will also support smooth running of other aspects of the PD Department (20-25%). To represent the latter, there is a ‘dotted line’ of reporting from the Programme Officer to both the Head of Programmes and the Director of Programme Impact. Full induction and internal training on all CBM UK-specific tasks, systems and processes will be provided.
Programme Funding Support (75-80%)
• Support scanning for suitable new funding opportunities, and create clear summaries of donor requirements.
• Keep the Programme Funding team, and each proposal development team1, highly organised, enabling efficient progress towards a submission deadline. This is likely to include:
o Real-time information management; clear filing, version control and communication
o Tracking progress against agreed actions; following up with reminders
o Using checklists to ensure all important steps are followed
o Facilitating adaptations to the proposal development plan
o Creating user-friendly templates and guidance
o Making arrangements for meetings
o Coordinating review processes.
• Provide practical administrative support to proposal development and stakeholder relationship-building, including:
o Online research about donor / geography / technical area / partners / competitors
o Formatting, proof-reading and/or editing to fit prescribed word / character limits
o Creation of tables, graphics, references from supplied data
o Checking compliance against donor requirements
o Arranging, recording and following up on meetings.
• Data management: Update and maintain Project Management System ‘Global Online’ with information relating to funding proposals, projects, donors and consortium partners (both current and prospective) – everything required prior to handover to Programme Management team for donor contract negotiations.
• Support efficiency and effectiveness of the Programme Funding Team through continual maintenance of and improvements to Programme Funding systems and processes, e.g. updating a proposal resource library.
• Manage provision of compliance information for due diligence processes and proposals as required by donors or consortium leads. Provide this service for other CBM UK teams as well as for the Programme Funding team, as required.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Head of Programme Funding, including support for internal reporting.
Programme Development (PD) Department support (20-25%)
• Make arrangements for events such as internal and external meetings (including recording actions / minutes, and providing for any accessibility requirements), training courses and team building, regular learning sessions, team travel (including bookings and expenses) and occasional international workshops (mostly online).
• Lead on knowledge management for Programme Development (PD) Department including updating PD Handbook and maintaining MS Teams site.
• Support the Director of Programme Impact and Head of Programmes with internal reporting processes; sourcing and collating information.
• Facilitate responses to enquiries about CBM programmes from the public or other teams, and facilitate communication with other CBM UK departments.

We’re recruiting a Youth Development Officer to work as part of a team to deliver The King’s Trust Team Programme in Wigan.
At Groundwork we believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. We help 16 to 25-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling to transform their lives. Many of the young people we help are in, or leaving, care. They may be facing issues such as homelessness, suffering with their mental health or have been in trouble with the police.
Our programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation to enable them to reach their full potential.
Transform Lives: – Working as part of our team you’ll empower disadvantaged young people, helping them to create some stability in their lives, develop key skills and build their confidence.
Support communities: – You’ll be collaborating with partner agencies and community organisations to make a significant contribution to the local community.
The King’s Trust Team Programme recruits and runs regular 12-week personal development programmes for young people aged 16-25 for the chance to gain new skills, earn a qualification and meet like-minded people. Here at Groundwork we have been delivering The King’s Trust Team Programme in Wigan and Leigh for 25 years and the key aspects of the programme are:
>Taking on group community project, making a positive difference to the local community.
>Taking part in an action-packed residential trip
>Two weeks’ work experience
>Develop your English and Maths skills
>Developing interview and CV skills to ensure confidence is sky-high when participants are ready to take the next step.
