Purpose of the post
Are you passionate about making a difference for women and children facing up to domestic abuse and ready to help us build a society where violence against women and girls is no longer tolerated? The successful post holder will have at least 2 years' experience running multi-social media channels for an organisation. We’re looking for a creative, agile and impactful professional to develop, maintain and monitor our social media communications. This will involve creating content for our various social media channels, monitoring engagement, community management and initiating platforms and campaigns. The post will also support our wider communications and media activity. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we mark our 50th Birthday with some powerful campaigns and engagement.

As Policy & Engagement Officer, you will work with the Hope for the Future team to:
- Act as constituents’ main point of contact at HFTF, working with them to effectively engage their elected representatives by supporting them through the constituent journey (including offering tailored advice, letter writing, meeting preparation and coaching, facilitation and follow-up).
- Prepare and deliver HFTF’s core training, contributing to its ongoing development.
- Develop constituent and partner-facing resources aimed at maximising political impact.
- Ensure work is aligned with our objectives and strategy to maximise efficiency and impact, linking and contributing to Hope for the Future’s central strategies and wider work as required. This includes our Councils, Faith and Outreach work.
- With the support of the Policy and Engagement Coordinator, contribute to effective objective setting in order to deliver HFTF’s strategy.
- Ensure the CRM is up to date and support monitoring, evaluation and reporting in relation to the team’s work.
- With the support of the Research and Impact Coordinator conduct research on elected representatives and other key figures in order to train and advise constituents on how to best engage with them.
- Identify and build relationships with local and regional partner organisations and communities to engage new constituents, to help ensure that we are working towards reaching and representing all sectors of society.
- Provide support to other team members where required in both organising and delivery of events and projects.
- Provide support to other team members with income generation activities where required.
- Able to travel around the UK frequently to support constituents and partner organisations, attend workshops and deliver training. For remotely based staff, occasional attendance at HFTF premises may also be required for supervision, development or team-building purposes, etc.
- Take the lead on thematic and project work as allocated by Hope for the Future, (e.g. Scotland focus, housing focus) and help to upskill the rest of the team on these topics. ● Contribute to the continued development of HFTF’s training and approach
- Support the Policy and Engagement Coordinator to identify and develop opportunities for growing the organisation's reach and impact.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of climate change and nature loss/ degradation developments in Parliament, including changes to policy and specific MP involvement in such developments.

Job Title Senior Policy Researcher for Northern Ireland

Main purpose and scope of the role:
Parentkind is a national charity and we work across all four nations of the United Kingdom and the devolved institutions and governments.
The successful candidate would be expected to support our work in Northern Ireland and have demonstrable experience of the political system in Northern Ireland.
In addition to their work in Northern Ireland the successful candidate will support the wider aims of the Policy and Research Department across the UK.
We are the voice of parents in education, we represent 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and have an ambition to develop an internal parent ‘think tank’ within the organisation.
This is an exciting role if you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and interested in education policy and politics.
The role will involve conducting research on education policy and making policy recommendations based on that research. Some research will be time sensitive and involve summarising information and presenting it in an easy to understand way. There will be longer research projects to support the charity to develop policy positions and maintain our position as a strong voice for parents in education.
Alongside the research requirements of the role, you will be expected to support our political and broader stakeholder engagement activity to make sure the work we do is understood and seen by the right people.
You will have experience of working with political stakeholders in Northern Ireland and a strong understanding of the political structures and processes in Northern Ireland, as well as experience in political engagement to promote research and policy recommendations.
If you love politics and want to spend your days writing about education policy this is the role for you. You will represent Parentkind at important events and meetings and have the chance to promote our research and policy recommendations.
Duties and key responsibilities
Policy research and analysis
- To conduct research on education policy in Northern Ireland under the guidance of the Director of Policy and Research.
- To produce summarise large amounts of information and produce briefing material on education policy for external audiences, often at pace.
- To provide political monitoring and advice for the department, to include:
- debates and questions in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- future business across in the Northern Ireland Assembly,
- policy development.
- To provide rapid briefing material for any relevant future business in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- Draft questions (and an understanding of how to structure questions) in the Northern Ireland Assembly
- To support the development of parent surveys to related to our policy work.
- To support the development of policy recommendations and experience of publishing policy related research.
Political engagement
- To organise policy led events, such as roundtable discussions or meetings of politicians across all U.K. legislatures and experience of managing political events.
- To identify political stakeholders relevant to our work in Northern Ireland, including:
- officials inside government departments,
- elected representatives,
- think tanks and other relevant research institutions.
- To maintain a wide range of political contacts and meet with political stakeholders to promote our research and policy work.
- To meet with organisations with an interest in our work and provide effective briefings.
- To attend party conferences and other education led events to represent Parentkind.
Media engagement
- To support the Director of Policy and Research in media engagement, including background research for press releases.
- To summarise our policy and research ready for social media platforms.
General Responsibilities
- To ensure Data Protection procedures are followed at all times

- To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.

The Content Officer, a key member of the Marketing and Communications capability, will focus on:

What you will be doing
- Drafting copy for fundraising activity across a variety of online and offline channels including mailings, emails, social media, payment pages, event handouts and thank you letters / ad hoc supporter communications
- Refreshing existing content with new stories and up to date impact stats
- Content creation; organising photoshoots and video shoots, interviewing case studies and writing up stories
- Assisting with production of the supporter magazine
- Supporting fundraising teams with campaigns, checking proofs, data and liaising with creative teams to help make sure deadlines are met
- Finance and administrative support for the MarComms team

You will be an excellent and ambitious copywriter with experience of writing and developing engaging content for audiences across a variety of platforms and channels. You will be proactive, a strong communicator and an excellent relationship builder.

About the Team
The wider Communications and Advocacy department is responsible for promoting Shelter Scotland’s brand and leading our policy advocacy, public campaigning, and digital communications to fight the housing emergency and achieve change for people who do not have a safe, secure, or affordable home in Scotland.
Our work targets national and local government as well as communities and stakeholder groups. We use rigorous research, client insight and human stories to develop advocacy action plans and public campaigns for change to tackle the root causes of Scotland’s housing emergency. The Advocacy team sits within the Communications and Advocacy department and includes our advocacy, public affairs and our Empty Homes team.
About the role
You will contribute to the wider team’s work of advocating for the structural changes that are needed to solve the housing emergency, in line with Shelter Scotland’s strategic objectives. Specifically, advocating to a wide range of audiences on the need to increase the supply of social homes and strengthening people’s housing rights. You will be advocating for these changes yourself, as well as supporting the wider team and organisation in doing so.
The role will involve:
- Building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Producing high quality written outputs such as briefings, consultation responses and reports.
- Data and policy analysis.
- Influencing and informing stakeholders on Shelter Scotland’s policy positions.
About you
First and foremost, we are looking for an individual who is driven by a desire for social change and to fight housing inequality. You will be someone who is able to build relationships with key stakeholders, analyse evidence to form policy positions, identify opportunities for advocacy work and who can advocate for change using high-quality written outputs as well as face-to-face influencing.
A good understanding of how the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Local Authorities are formed, operate and develop new policies is important too. Familiarity with housing and homelessness policy would be useful but is not essential.

What we are looking for:
- Experience working in a content marketing role.

- Highly proficient in the planning, implementation and assessment of marketing campaigns, projects, content types and initiatives.
- A creative eye and attention to detail - transforming information and data sets into engaging content.
- Structured and organised - with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks in line with team needs.
- The successful candidate will have experience in optimising content – including but not limited to – on-page SEO best practices (tags, meta images & descriptions, backlinks etc.) as well as an understanding of search intent and site visitor activity. Overview of the CPA Charity
The CPA is a registered charity (CIO) and membership body; leading and developing the pharmacy profession to benefit the people of the Commonwealth. This voluntary network of member states encompasses one third of the global population, including many lower-middle-income countries (LMICs). The CPA works towards its core charitable objectives to build strong and diverse collaborations between pharmacists and health networks; develop and improve the quality of Pharmacy Practice; strengthen health systems; improve the safe and effective use of medicines, and promote healthier lifestyles and reduce health inequalities. Its unique position as an accredited organisation of the Commonwealth allows for many advocacy opportunities for the profession.

Job Overview:
The Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping how we communicate our mission and impact. You'll be responsible for managing CPA's social media channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence. You'll develop compelling content, including stories that highlight the real-world impact of our work. Additionally, you'll support various CPA programs by crafting effective communications materials. This position is ideal for candidates with proven social media management experience, graphic design skills and excellent writing and editing abilities.

Job Description – Projects Assistant
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Reports to: Projects & Research Manager
Hours: Full time (40 hours per week including one hour lunch break each day)
Start date: 1st June 2024 approx
Location: Home-based (travel costs paid for meetings)
Annual leave: 27 days FTE per annum plus Bank holidays (22 days FTE per annum whilst the 4 day week is in place)
Please note that at Waterwise we work a Four Day Week, under voluntary agreements which all staff members sign. This means that you will be contracted and paid as full-time but you will sign a voluntary agreement stating that you commit to employing efficiency tools both individual and team-wide to deliver and be paid for 5 days work within four normal 9 to 5 days - the office is closed on Fridays. Training will be provided and you will be expected to continue to refresh your training and to keep up use of the efficiency tools. Annual leave is also pro rata’d. Projects Assistant role description
The role involves identifying relevant project and research opportunities; assisting with developing winning bids and delivering successful projects. Examples of recent projects include developing a water scarcity index for BSi and creating an evaluation framework for water saving campaigns. You will report to a Projects Manager and be joining a small but growing sub-team winning and delivering water efficiency research projects. For example, part of your role will be to support the delivery of an existing Ofwat Innovation Funded Water Literacy project which is developing a new training and accreditation offering on water.
Key responsibilities in the role include:

Working with others to identify opportunities for Waterwise to undertake relevant research project work
