In 2025 Oxford will open its new home for humanities, the state-of-the-art Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. This is an opportunity to join the University’s Humanities Development team as we work to secure philanthropic support for scholarships, academics and the capital project.

We are looking for a new senior fundraiser to join our energetic team to raise major gifts for a range of posts, scholarships and other priorities across the Humanities. Oxford is the world’s leading university for humanities teaching and research. When it opens, the Schwarzman Centre will bring together seven faculties from the division under one roof for the first time. The University’s scholarship in languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion & the arts – from the earliest civilisation to the present day – enriches our understanding of humankind, and informs how we engage with historic issues and contemporary concerns.
About the Role:
This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships and access and outreach in the academic faculties. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.
To Be Successful You’ll Need:
- To be an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts and the ability to secure gifts in the range of £100k-£1m+
- Confidence to work with people from a range of backgrounds, both internally and externally
- The ability to think creatively in prospecting, cultivation and stewardship
Salary:
Grade 8: £45,585 - £54,395 per annum with possible extension to £59,421, plus an Oxford University weighting of £1,500 per annum (pro-rata).

Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work

The Role
In this role, no day is the same. You will be involved in various exciting projects and campaigns to mark upcoming milestones. As the Research and Philanthropy Officer, your responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of funders, developing high-quality funding proposals, reports, and thank-you communications. Collaboration with the Philanthropy Manager and the wider team to achieve fundraising goals will also be vital.

This is a new role in the organisation that will work in the Policy and Campaigns Team but create impact across all of our work. The roleis responsible for supporting and developing our social media and our awareness raising activity in communities across the UK. The Development team at Pembroke College plays a pivotal role in advancing the College’s mission by securing critical financial resources and fostering a culture of philanthropy and donor stewardship, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the College.
We are looking for maternity cover for eight months for the role of Senior Alumni Relations Officer, responsible for building and strengthening relationships between Pembroke and its alumni and other supporters. This includes engagement activities such as events, supporting the Alumni Ambassador network, contributing to alumni communications and publications, and acting as a point of contact for the College’s alumni.
The main duties to be carried out by the post-holder include:
Alumni Relations
- Manage administration of the alumni volunteers through the Alumni Ambassador network and Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) alongside the Chair of the AAB, providing approved College updates and reports in a collaborative and effective manner.
- Ensure regular alumni communications and marketing for events and engagement opportunities are of the highest calibre and take advantage of the great breadth of content available through Fellow, staff, student, and alumni sources.

- Provide ad hoc tours of College for groups of visiting alumni.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to work in Cornwall to promote and enable - walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport as the sustainable way of travelling to schools, workplaces, and for journeys in the local community.
As the Project Officer, you will be innovating, developing, and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel.
You will work in close partnership with Cornwall Council, public transport providers, Sustrans’ Behaviour Change & Engagement team and colleagues to support the development and delivery of a countywide Workplace Travel Challenge. This will help ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from the project and that more local journeys can be travelled actively.

The CEO will provide leadership for the Orpheus Centre, overseeing its operations, growth and long-term sustainability, and lead a team of more than 100 staff and 50 volunteers which serve a community of nearly 70 students.

- Proven track record of successful strategic leadership in the nonprofit or education sector.
