What you will do:

Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.

Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.

Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training and education.

Deliver training and raise awareness of products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers.

Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the Strategic Plans.

Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Area and Strategic Plans.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops or educational activities

A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience

Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience

Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work

The ability to travel to different locations across Peterborough, East Midlands and Cambridgeshire to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

A degree or professional qualification in Education, Counselling, Training, Psychology, Community Development or Youth Work

We are looking for a proactive individual who takes the initiative, can effectively prioritise and has a proven ability to meet tight deadlines. You will play a vital role in the planning, implementing and development of fundraising campaigns, events and appeals. From designing print artwork and writing copy, to managing case studies and photography, as well as creating web pages and online forms, this is a varied post for a creative individual.

With a solid background in marketing, copywriting and storytelling, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and producing engaging and inspiring content that are integral to our campaigns.  You’ll have experience working with email marketing software and implementing successful email marketing strategies as well as analysing campaign engagement. Knowledge of social media, video editing and graphic design are an advantage.

You will be responsible for creating online pages and forms on our website, as well as monitoring and maintaining the site. A strong skillset in web management and working with WordPress is essential. You will be a confident communicator with excellent people skills, comfortable in approaching key stakeholders for stories and content.

Experience in the non-profit sector is not essential, as we’ll provide a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing peer support.

The role

Cruse Bereavement Support is a charity providing bereavement information and support to grieving people across the UK. We are looking for an organised and motivated Marketing and Communications Officer to join our small marcomms team and help increase the reach and engagement of our digital marketing and communications channels.

You will be responsible for helping us reach more bereaved people, volunteers and supporters with our content and digital products. As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.

Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. You’ll help create bold and hard-hitting news stories to engage our audiences and bring to life some of our biggest organisational campaigns, like our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists. 

About you 

You will have: 

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist. 

• Experience of supporting with or delivering impactful media campaigns or stories that have helped secure quality coverage in national and regional news outlets, as well as softer consumer features.

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy for a range of audiences, including political, consumer, tabloid, trade and everything in between. 

• Experience of working with case studies, identifying and preparing stories for the media and empowering people to share their experiences.

• Strong news sense, with a good working knowledge of the UK media, including digital media production, with experience of creating digital first coverage and amplifying campaign messages creatively in the digital sphere.

Collaboration with the Philanthropy Manager and the wider team to achieve fundraising goals will also be vital.

The Development team at Pembroke College plays a pivotal role in advancing the College’s mission by securing critical financial resources and fostering a culture of philanthropy and donor stewardship, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the College. 

We are looking for maternity cover for eight months for the role of Senior Alumni Relations Officer, responsible for building and strengthening relationships between Pembroke and its alumni and other supporters. This includes engagement activities such as events, supporting the Alumni Ambassador network, contributing to alumni communications and publications, and acting as a point of contact for the College’s alumni.

The main duties to be carried out by the post-holder include:

Alumni Relations

• Manage administration of the alumni volunteers through the Alumni Ambassador network and Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) alongside the Chair of the AAB, providing approved College updates and reports in a collaborative and effective manner.
• Ensure regular alumni communications and marketing for events and engagement opportunities are of the highest calibre and take advantage of the great breadth of content available through Fellow, staff, student, and alumni sources.
• Ensure accurate and thorough records are kept on alumni interactions and engagement with the College so that productivity and relationships can be tracked and enhanced.
• Act as a first point of contact for alumni, dealing with ad hoc queries via email, phone, and in person.
• Coordinate the ‘Pembroke10’ network for recent leavers.
• Educate current students about alumni benefits and develop opportunities for students to interact with alumni and supporters so that students become engaged alumni as well as future donors.
• Provide ad hoc tours of College for groups of visiting alumni.
• Ensure that Alumni Relations supports opportunities for the identification and cultivation of alumni prospects.

Events

• Organise events from initial ideas to final feedback, with a variety of goals and objectives including alumni engagement, stewardship and fundraising.
• Work with colleagues, alumni and Fellows to identify new events to appeal to underserved segments of the alumni, parent, student, and other communities.
• Attend events and ensure they are run smoothly and professionally.
• Coordinate High Table dinner bookings for alumni.

Internal collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the wider team and colleagues across Pembroke, supporting work outside your functional area where necessary.
• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Development Director, which may include travel and event attendance outside standard working hours, for which time off in lieu will be given.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to work in Cornwall to promote and enable - walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport as the sustainable way of travelling to schools, workplaces, and for journeys in the local community.

As the Project Officer, you will be innovating, developing, and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel. 

You will work in close partnership with Cornwall Council, public transport providers, Sustrans’ Behaviour Change & Engagement team and colleagues to support the development and delivery of a countywide Workplace Travel Challenge. This will help ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from the project and that more local journeys can be travelled actively. 

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required. 

We offer true hybrid working, with a mix of working from the Authority office 1-2 days a week and the opportunity for home working. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake the project on behalf of Sustrans. You will be occasionally travelling across the Cornwall region.

About you

You will be passionate about active travel and supporting and motivating others to make positive changes to everyday journeys, to benefit themselves, their local community, and the environment. You will be self-motivated and able to work independently to manage a varied workload. 

You should have experience in building relationships with wide range of organisations, groups and individuals ideally having worked on physical activity, behavioural change projects, a wide range of people including young people. 

You will be a skilled communicator, able to adapt your approach to engage and meet the needs of diverse audiences and have experience of planning and delivering engagement activities and promotional events.

We are now looking for a visionary and inspiring new CEO to take the Orpheus Centre to the next level – and to lead the centre’s bid to create new, state-of-the-art, college buildings to allow us to expand student numbers and equip us to remain at the forefront of special education for 18–25-year-olds in the decades ahead.

The CEO will provide leadership for the Orpheus Centre, overseeing its operations, growth and long-term sustainability, and lead a team of more than 100 staff and 50 volunteers which serve a community of nearly 70 students.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Proven track record of successful strategic leadership in the nonprofit or education sector.
• Experience and/or involvement in successful capital campaigns and major fundraising initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as those of Ofsted and/or CQC.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire motivate and influence staff, young people with a diverse range of needs, partners, donors, and the broader community.
