The Bird of Prey Project is a registered charity and multiple award-winning visitor centre and zoo working to conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. At this exciting time for the organisation, we are looking to recruit a new Charity Manager who can manage the visitor centre whilst working alongside the Board of Trustees to develop strategy and objectives for the charity. You will have the incredible opportunity to lead a team working to inspire the public about wildlife, develop the highest standards of bird welfare and restore populations of wild raptors.  

What is the role about?

The Charity Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees to manage the charity and visitor centre.

The visitor centre receives over 10,000 visitors per year who provide the majority of the charity’s income. The senior bird team provide a high standard of ethical raptor care to over 20 species, using restraint free management and free-flight techniques, and also deliver experiences and displays to the public. The Charity manager works to ensure that the site is safe and compliant with law & best practice, the senior bird team are provided with adequate resources and that the visitor centre is meeting goals for income generation.   

The charity’s mission is to Conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. The Charity Manager over-sees the staff team delivering the charity activities, ensuring work is recorded and reported correctly.

You would also be responsible for line managing both Deputy Centre Managers. You should be confident in making decisions and able to balance opportunity and risk. An ability to operate within and develop governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role, and whilst a background with working with birds of prey or in wildlife conservation is not necessary, you should be passionate about The Bird of Prey Project’s mission.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of School Coordinators in Wales.

Living Streets has successfully obtained funding from the Welsh Government to deliver a further year of the national Walk To School programme – engaging 200 primary schools, 25 Early Years settings and 42 secondary schools until March 2026.

You will be part of a team providing remote and direct support to a pool of early years settings, primary and secondary schools across Wales. The School Coordinator will have a target to recruit schools to the programme and coordinate the planned distribution of resources and supporting materials. You will be responsible for engaging and retaining schools to as part of the communication plan and responding to any issues raised. On occasion you will be required to visit individual schools and re-engage schools through various activities such as pupil assemblies. 

Good attention to detail and the ability to recruit, support and engage schools remotely will also be essential to this role.

Overall purpose of the role …

• To provide wide-ranging administrative support to the Head of Publishing Development and Commissioning Editor.
• To provide routine administration of the Society’s online submission and tracking system.
• To prepare book titles for production by ensuring all necessary information is present, including manuscript files, author information and necessary permissions for secondary-source content.

Major accountabilities …

1. Liaise with and provide support for authors, editors and reviewers using the Society’s online submission systems and autonomously undertake routine checking and chasing to ensure there are no delays, as specified by the Head of Publishing Development.

• Undertake initial quality check of manuscripts upon submission including running an iThenticate report, co-author verification and identifying conflicts of interest.
• Assess manuscripts for any content that may require written permission for reuse, and work with authors and editors to ensure this is provided ahead of the article being ready for production. Record any outliers that may impact future licencing.
• Support the Society’s publishing permissions workflow by fielding, assessing and responding to requests, and liaising with colleagues, as necessary

3. In collaboration with colleagues, work to ensure the effective and efficient operation of workflows connecting editorial and production teams by providing general administrative support to editorial and production staff.

• Monitor page extents for new submissions and books nearing production and communicate outlying cases to editors and colleagues 
• Calculate length estimates of books nearing production
• Complete prompt and accurate upload of accepted articles to the production management system within timeframes

We are looking for a creative, data-driven and results orientated Digital Fundraising Officer to help us grow our income and supporter base through engaging and innovative digital campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate fundraising team, playing a vital role in delivering digital-first fundraising activity and supporter engagement across multiple digital channels. The successful candidate will work closely with fundraising, communications and digital teams. They will also work closely with the Fundraising Digital Marketing Lead to support with planning, implementing, optimising and reporting on World Horse Welfare’s digital fundraising and marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering successful digital campaigns within a fundraising or non-profit context, with strong skills in delivering and optimising paid social campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta and TikTok. They should be proficient in using tools like Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Looker Studio and SEO platforms. The candidate must be highly organised, proactive, data-driven, a good collaborator, with the ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced working environment. The ideal candidate will also enjoy the creative side of digital fundraising, with a passion for creating compelling content for the various digital campaigns.

This position is based remotely, although you will be required to attend the charity’s head office located in Norfolk a minimum of 6 times per year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation. Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.   

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people. 

We are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive fundraiser to join our income generation team to raise more grant income from charitable trusts and foundations primarily, along with corporates and other partners. These include local schools and community organisations. Maintaining great relationships with these and other supporters Is a key requirement of this role. A confident self-starter, you will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Role Purpose 

Working alongside our chief executive (who is an experienced fundraiser), an external larger bid writing resource and heads of programmes, the key objectives are to successfully generate income with grants valuing up to c.£10k in line with KLS fundraising plan and annual budget; develop and maintain relationships, and secure funding from, a portfolio of loyal and prospective supporters. Stewardship, reporting, pipeline and other database management tasks are other key features of the role.
