The Role
We’re looking for a relational, driven and values-led Fundraising Officer to lead our corporate, community, and campaign fundraising. You’ll build partnerships, run fundraising initiatives, and steward donors to help us reach more young people across the UK.
This role will focus on:

You’ll work alongside our Partnerships & Engagement Officer (who leads on challenge events and volunteering) and be supported by our Operations Manager. We’re aiming for £50,000–£75,000 in Year 1 income.

We’re recruiting a Parkinson’s specialist therapist to join the Network’s national Clinical Leadership Team on a consultancy basis. The Clinical Leadership Team provides strategic guidance and clinical expertise to Parkinson’s UK and the members of the team are ambassadors for the Excellence Network.

About the oppurtunity:
You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2) and key stage 4 (KS4) maths tutoring programmes through subject-specific training of volunteer tutors, and by advising and supporting our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day.
You will also observe and give feedback to volunteer tutors delivering maths tuition, and deliver general training for new volunteers, so that they are confident and effective in taking part in our tutoring programmes.

Specific responsibilities relating to the role:
Supporting the delivery of our maths curriculum:
- Design and deliver online maths-focused training for volunteer tutors so that subject knowledge is secure within the tutor community.
- Provide advice and support, including some direct tutor communications, on subject-specific matters for Action Tutoring staff who manage volunteer tutors.
- Maintain existing tutoring GCSE and KS2 maths curriculum resources to ensure volunteer tutors have high quality materials to use in sessions.
- Support Action Tutoring’s Programme Department to provide and respond to requests for additional materials for tutoring sessions, particularly maths sessions.
- Support with creation of additional maths resources on an ad hoc basis as required, applying Action Tutoring’s pedagogical approach and standards for diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Format any newly generated maths curriculum content for printing.
- Reformat maths curriculum resources for online delivery of tutoring sessions.
- Engage in learning and development opportunities in order to keep knowledge about the expectations set out in the maths national curriculum (KS2 and KS4) and the main exam boards up to date.
Quality assuring tutoring delivery:
- Observe several virtual tutoring sessions a week. Make detailed and unbiased notes on tutor skills, craft empathetic constructive feedback in emails.
- Support our programme delivery team to craft communications and feedback to tutors.
- Produce ‘quality tips’ and resources for tutors and staff.
- Work with Action Tutoring’s volunteer engagement team to feedback trends so that the quality assurance process at the tutor application stage is as strong as possible.
Delivering volunteer tutor training:
- Support the Training Manager by delivering up to four virtual initial tutor training sessions a week during peak months, presenting Action Tutoring’s established training content.
- Support the Training Manager by contributing updates to tutor training content.
- Create content for tutor CPD materials to support with maths tutoring.

Qualifications criteria:
- Qualified secondary school teacher of Mathematics
- At least two year’s teaching experience in English state schools with an understanding of the barriers facing disadvantaged pupils

Our client is looking for a Programme Manager with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple complex workstreams to join them in the Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG) data and training team.
JAG was established in 1994 to improve endoscopy services through clinical accreditation and develop training and support for the endoscopy workforce. You will be responsible for managing, leading and continuing the development of several projects, including;
- Endoscopy medical trainee certification (JETS)
- A training programme for nurses and other health care professionals (JETS Workforce)
- The accreditation of bowel cancer screeners (BCSA)
- The National Endoscopy Database (NED), which uses data from endoscopy services to support clinicians, services, and other bodies, to improve performance and provide a basis for research
- The utilisation of data from JETS, JETS Workforce and BCSA, to support endoscopy workforce development and growth.
About the role
You will work closely with internal colleagues, such as project teams in other accreditation and audit areas, as well as colleagues in finance, policy, IT, HR, and communications. You will lead and manage a team and you’ll have responsibility for and be required to work collaboratively with a broader team of sub-contractors and clinical leads. You’ll work closely with the JAG programme manager (Accreditation), to ensure that JAG continue to provide high quality services and support for the endoscopy workforce. Parallel is seeking an enthusiastic senior web developer who is excited to direct their skills towards our mission of increasing the number and diversity of excellent young mathematicians.
Founded by bestselling science writer Simon Simon MBE, Parallel is a small but ambitious charitable initiative. We support bright and keen students to develop their mathematical curiosity and problem solving skills beyond the curriculum. This includes puzzle sheets, large interactive webinars, and a tutoring programme (Parallel Academy) which provides small-group tutorials to over 600 state school secondary school students. Our tutorial programme is completely free for the first year, and heavily subsidised thereafter, but cost will never be a barrier to participation.

So far, the Parallel platform has been developed and maintained by a single volunteer developer. As we look to expand the project to reach many thousands more students each year, we are now looking for additional support to help maintain the platform, attend to daily issues and support with new feature development.

CEO role
The CEO will be a new permanent role, reporting to our founder Chair and to the board of trustees. You will take on all aspects of managing our award-winning charity and drive the board process of setting and delivering strategy. This will include financial management of the charity and involvement in fundraising. This is in the context of our succession plan, whereby our Chair will hand over the executive responsibilities which he currently exercises on a pro bono basis. Big Green Heart is looking for a trainer to help expand our practitioner base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with teaching experience to use their professional skills in the charity sector in the vitally important area of mental health. Accredited practitioners may charge for their own practice, working with individuals or in partnership with schools, churches, and community projects. Disclosure of a Criminal Record
The Rehabilitation of Offenders 1974 (Exceptions) (Amendment) Order 1986 applies to posts where there is access to children. This means that applicants for employment that involves working with children and young people must disclose anything listed in their criminal record, with the exception of protected cautions and convictions. All Disclosures are carried out in the strictest confidence and are made only in connection with your application for employment and for no other purpose. The application for a DBS check at a level appropriate to the job role will be activated before your first day of work. Members of staff who are not eligible for a standard or enhanced DBS check are required to undertake a basic DBS check only in line with legal requirements. Education, Qualifications and Training
- Ensure you give all the information requested, including dates, establishment where you studied and make clear the level of any examinations e.g., GCSE, GCE 'O' Level or 'A' Level or equivalents etc. and the grades you obtained. Also include any skills training you have had. You will be required to produce original documentary evidence of any qualifications relevant to the job, and these will be detailed on the person specification
