We are excited to be re-launching our Give it a Go programme, which offers one-off events and activities designed to help our diverse student body build connections and feel settled. Give It A Go (GIAG) is a programme of events open to all students at the University of Kent with the aim to provide a variety of activities for a broad range of students to try out. These could be craft sessions, sports, trips off campus and much more, we want to help students make connections, encouraging belonging, try something new, meet new people and develop their skills.

We also want to enhance the events we deliver for university open days and offer holder days to showcase why students should choose Kent. As a result, we are seeking someone who is innovative, creative, and experienced in delivering events—someone who is proactive, able to work independently, and confident collaborating across departments.

The postholder will be part of a flexible and dynamic team and will be required to work weekends and evenings as necessary to support open days and other events. They must therefore be adaptable and flexible in their approach to working hours.

What you will be doing:

• To oversee and co-ordinate our Give it a Go Programme, ensuring a variety of safe, inclusive and engaging events, trips and opportunities are delivered across the year. Day to day activities might include planning, setting up and delivering events through a small student staff team, liaising with our marketing department to promote the programme, monitoring attendance, seeking student feedback and completing risk assessments and ensuring the safety of attendees.
• To co-ordinate our presence at Arrivals Weekend and deliver a series of events as part of Welcome Week including supporting the delivery of Welcome Fair.
• To co-ordinate Kent Student Union’s presence at University Open Days and Offer Holder Days held on Saturdays, ensuring they are staffed, interactive and showcase Kent Students’ Union’s impact on the student experience to prospective students.
• To support the delivery of wider KSU events as and when required such as Summerball.
• This role involves regular manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving items. Training, guidance, and appropriate equipment will be provided. Candidates must be able to perform these duties safely, with reasonable adjustments considered where applicable.

Over the past 40+ years we have supported millions of young people to develop essential leadership skills through achieving our courses.

Over 2,500 organisations (centres) across the education and community sectors are already on their leadership journey with us. With an aim of reaching over 200,000 young people per year through our leadership offer by 2028, this role will be integral to ensuring a centre’s journey with the Leadership Skills Foundation is an effortless one.

Having recently settled into our new identity and expanding the portfolio of programmes we have on offer, this role will work closely with our Business Development team, Admin team and Quality Assurance team to ensure that our existing delivery centres are sufficiently supported to forge a sustainable leadership pathway.

We’re looking for someone to adopt a consistent relationship management process to support all staff at existing delivery centres and to on-board new centres. Organisation and efficiency, along with a clear communication style and an ability to effectively manage data are essential skills for this role. Role Purpose:

1. Provide appropriate support to centres when they contact the Leadership Skills Foundation.

3. Respond to centre enquiries, help resolve technical issues and potential issues to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Support those who Care

This is an exciting opportunity to join our service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.

The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.

Youth Project Worker

Transform the lives of  young people with learning disabilities and autism who are avoiding school . Use creativity, advocacy and relationship-building to help them articulate their needs, re-enter education and rebuild social connections.

You'll work with 35 young people with learning disabilities and autism in Coventry each year , helping them to:

• Articulate their needs and wishes through creative one-to-one advocacy and support
• Re-enter education in a way that works for them as complex individuals
• Re-build social skills and connections to protect their wellbeing and enrich their lives

These young people may be learning-disabled or autistic, in special or mainstream education, or not in education, employment or training (NEET). They include school avoiders, those on reduced timetables, and young people with unmet mental health needs. Without support, their outcomes are often bleak - but you can change that.

What You'll Do

You'll meet young people where they feel most comfortable - at times that suit them, using WhatsApp, Zoom, or face-to-face. Together, you'll:

• Create multimedia person-centred 'back to learning and community' plans using video, voice recording, photographs, artwork or graphics
• Build their confidence through weekly one-to-one sessions, with gradual group engagement on their terms
• Advocate for their views and support them to develop self-advocacy skills
• Connect them with meaningful opportunities across the city

We are looking for a Support Worker to be part of our small community farm team. This is a rewarding role working with both children and adults with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and/or social and emotional difficulties. 

Working with small groups or on a one to one basis, you will support our clients to develop and grow via a variety of practical tasks that utilise our farm's resouces. This could be looking after our animals, growing veg in our indoor and outdoor growing spaces, learning about nature in the woods, doing arts and crafts or helping with other jobs around the farm.

Job purpose

· To deliver Nourish in 6-8 schools in Birmingham (primary, secondary and SEND settings)

Key tasks include

· Support with recruitment of schools to take part in Nourish

· Complete in person food audits in schools looking across the whole school day

· Support schools to create and deliver a food improvement plan (action plan)

About the opportunity
Action Tutoring is the largest tutoring charity in the country. At the heart of our work is closing the attainment gap for pupils facing disadvantage in the UK by harnessing the power of tutoring. We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Interim Chief Executive Officer (maternity cover) to lead our growing charity, ensuring the charity continues to achieve benchmark-beating results for the pupils we support. Duties and Responsibilities
The Interim CEO (maternity cover) is responsible for maintaining the high performance of the charity, overseeing the delivery of key strategic goals in line with our mission and aims. • Proven track record as a CEO in a not-for-profit organisation, experience as an Interim CEO is desirable but not essential. The ability to get up to speed quickly will be vital.

Student Journey & Records Management

> Oversee the full student journey including attendance, extensions, interruptions, withdrawals, and progression changes.

> Annual and monthly registration returns to the validating university

> Respond to student and tutor enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face.

> Maintain the student record system with accurate and timely updates.

> Coordinate with the College team to ensure communication of all student movements.

Registry Communications & Administration

This is an exciting role helping to bring one of our most successful innovations of recent years to the next level. You will take the lead on management of the Training Course programme from inception to completion, working within a friendly and dynamic events team. With help from our Training Course Committee and others you will secure a pipeline of repeat courses, lead the process of developing and commissioning new courses, work closely with convenors and trainers to bring courses to fruition, develop relationships with big customers and work with marketing colleagues to promote courses, organise the delivery of the courses and ensure customers are delighted with the outcome.

Founded in 1807, we are the oldest geological society in the world and a world-leading communicator of geoscience – through training, conferences, publishing, library and information services, education activities, and engaging the general public. We also provide impartial scientific information and evidence to support policy-making and public debate about the challenges facing humanity.

We have a membership of c. 12,000, more than 2,000 of whom are based outside the UK. Approximately 3,000 are Chartered Geologists or Chartered Scientists - professionals who have demonstrated a high level of technical competence in their field and a commitment to professional ethics.

Overview of Training Courses

In 2021, the Geological Society embarked on a journey by introducing its highly anticipated training courses, following a successful trial in 2020. Since then, these courses have become a cornerstone of knowledge dissemination within the geological community, covering a spectrum of topics, and have experienced a surge in participation. This widespread interest reflects the industry's recognition of the invaluable insights and skills that can be gained from these training programs taught by experts in the field.

Training courses have become a beacon of excellence within the geological community. Their success, marked by increasing participation and the positive impact on professional development, reaffirms the Society's dedication to advancing knowledge of geoscience and fostering a community of skilled and knowledgeable practitioners. They have also become an important part of our financial strategy; the continued growth of our training course income will help the Society continue to thrive.

Our training courses are mostly online and delivered by subject matter experts.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Take overall responsibility within the Events Team for our Training Courses programme, from promotion to delivery, and achieving our net income targets.
• Develop effective working relationships with society stakeholders, events team, Training Course Committee, Professional Committee, Chartership Officer and wider teams at the society including Publishing House to maximise opportunities for courses.
• Lead on Training Course Committee meetings creating agendas and keeping members regularly informed.
• Report on key areas in the Professional Committee meeting.
• Successfully meet annual sales target for Training courses providing regular feedback on performance to Head of Events and Training Course Committee.
• Work closely with our Marketing Executive to prepare detailed marketing plans and high-quality campaign content for promoting courses to delegates.
• Total end to end management of course speakers, ensuring these relationships are nurtured and all documentation is processed promptly and accurately.
• Ensure that all courses are accessible and organised to Society standards.
