About the role
We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.
The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.
The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.
Please note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case. Investigation work takes place Monday to Friday within working hours. This position is not suitable for applicants who already work or have commitments more than two days within the working week.

Purpose of the post
The Engagement and Involvement Lead will engage with young people, families, schools and other interest-holders in the process of designing, delivering and ensuring the best outputs from the Adolescent Health Study, and is critical for the success of the project. We are at the early stages of laying the foundations for this and in this new role we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to co-ordinate and lead AHS’s cross-UK participant and public involvement and engagement activities.
This is a role that requires high levels of confidence, autonomy, enthusiasm and skill. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the project’s new Engagement and Involvement Strategy, including: establishing and coordinating a Young Persons’ Advisory Group for AHS; developing and delivering AHS public engagement and involvement activities; outsourcing and supervising engagement and involvement activities that are better provided by external partners; scoping and advising on which routes for involvement and engagement activities are best suited to different tasks.

Planning & strategy delivery
· Ensuring the study delivers the values and approaches set out in the AHS engagement and involvement strategy
· Planning, delivering and reporting on an ongoing, regular and important programme of engagement events and activities

· Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
· Experience developing and delivering engagement and involvement activities with young people and other relevant interest-holders (such as parents, families, teachers and schools)
· A proven track record or professional background in working with young people – such as in youth work, counselling, mentoring, education, or a related setting
· Understanding and experience of good practice in youth engagement and involvement, including the principles and implementation of safeguarding, data protection, and inclusive practice
· Awareness of culturally sensitive approaches and methods to be inclusive of all relevant perspectives, including marginalised and vulnerable groups
· Experience of successful project management and ability to deliver, working independently.
· Ability to design and deliver workshops, focus groups or meetings that encourage open dialogue and collaboration

Main Purpose of the Role:
To manage, lead and support the Fundraising and Communications Team to retain donors, increase income and provide clear direction for our communications. This role will involve supporting relationships with sponsors of Action Duchenne’s International Conference, developing and implementing the fundraising and communications strategy, and reviewing our case for support for our core work and projects.
Specific Tasks:
The focus areas and key deliverables of this role are as follows:

Leadership

Parallel is a small but ambitious charitable initiative doing big things: we currently support over 3,000 students through our maths enrichment activities, around 500 of whom receive dedicated weekly, small-group online tutorials in The Parallel Academy. The Role
We are rapidly expanding our service provision over the coming months, and are seeking a full or part-time Project Administrator to join our passionate and energetic team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our programmes and help embed the tools and processes for reaching thousands more students each year.
This is a versatile role with responsibilities ranging from database management to setting up online events and communicating with service users, schools and tutoring staff. Working within a small administration team, you will be proficient at using a range of tools such as spreadsheets, meeting platforms and scheduling software, and will be willing to learn new ways of working. Hours
This is a flexible and fully remote role, and you will have significant autonomy in how you structure your working week.
As part of your contracted hours, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends, but this will not exceed one day a week in total. There will also be periods when there is a higher workload (e.g., during student recruitment periods), so you may be required to offer some flexibility in working longer (and then shorter) hours week to week. Lead on event creation, which primarily concerns the hundreds of weekly tutorials we run each week, but also extends to other activities such as student admissions, end of term testing and public webinars.

Help to manage a high-volume inbox, responding to daily emails and triaging across the team by assigning correct levels of priority to each correspondence.

Support the onboarding of new tutors (e.g. overseeing DBS checks, approving invoices) and take the lead on finding cover when gaps appear in our tutoring schedule.

Liaise with prospective schools and students and undertake key data gathering activities to identify the most suitable candidates for our programmes.

Support in developing and updating key policies and procedures.

Support with general administrative tasks.

Skills

Proficient in working with digital tools and software such as Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, Zoom and Trello (and able to learn new tools very quickly).

Excellent with spreadsheets and data - you know your vlookups from your pivot tables

Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, with a professional and sensitive approach.

Strong judgement: can be relied upon to implement agreed processes but also shows initiative to suggest improvements to how we work.

Proven experience of working in a team, demonstrable ability to operate in a flexible working environment and to take initiative.

Ability to understand, interpret, and apply existing documentation with a fast-moving environment.

Education
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
Professional Experience:

Essential: 3 years + relevant experience managing data as part of an administrative role.

Desirable:

relevant experience in an education setting.
