Overview of Role:

As a Support Worker, you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years old who have experience of self-harm. Within that age group, you will predominantly be working with young people under 18. The post would suit an experienced support worker, preferably with knowledge of the issues experienced by young people who are trans / non-binary.

You will play a key role in providing them with support and advocacy both on a one to-one basis and within a group setting; working with them to develop their emotional skills which will allow them to cope more effectively with the difficulties in their lives. The nature of the work means role that the successful candidate must focus on inclusivity for the young people.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in working with young people aged 12-25 and will enjoy the challenge of working with adolescents in difficult circumstances. You will need to be able to work within a non-discriminatory framework, ensuring the services are provided in a qualitative, responsive, and accessible manner.

The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm. With our Constellation element working with young people aged 12-25. Since The Amber project was established in 2002 individual support and creative
workshops have been key elements of our work with young people.

Salary: £13,406 per annum (£26,812.00 per annum FTE).

Hours:  20 hours per week. Working pattern to be agreed with the line manager but will include late afternoons and early evenings to facilitate meeting with young people outside of school hours and attending workshops. Occasional weekends.

Annual Leave: 132 hours, inclusive of bank holidays (264 hours FTE).

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. About MPE

Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is a pan-European organisation representing 52 myeloma and amyloidosis patient groups from over 33 European countries. It is registered as an international non-profit organisation under Belgian Law. A Board mainly composed of patients and caregivers is elected by the membership to oversee the strategy and governance of the organisation. A team of 13 staff members runs remotely the day-to-day operations, programmes and services within 4 divisions: Access and Policy, Medical Education and Scientific Engagement, Patient Evidence and Member and Patient Community Programmes.

About the Patient Evidence department

The MPE Patient Evidence department was established in 2020 to generate evidence important to patients with myeloma and their families and is led by Dr Eilidh Duncan. Our goal is to understand unmet needs in the patient population and design patient-focussed research questions which will support new understandings and knowledge. MPE partners with academia, other patient organisations, industry and regulatory bodies where possible to understand more about what gaps exist within the myeloma landscape and how to best generate evidence on these. We work alongside MPE’s policy and access team to anticipate what questions need to be asked and what the data needs are for upcoming medicines approval processes.

Role Summary

The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. About the role:

Weston Hospicecare is looking for a motivated Community Fundraiser to join our friendly team and help deliver our expanding Community Fundraising programme.

As Community Fundraiser, you will encourage and support fundraising activity in the local community which is carried out by volunteers, individuals, organisations, and associations.

Your fantastic organisation skills will be used to deliver fun and engaging fundraising events and alongside, you will build relationships and encourage people to fundraise and take part in events for Weston Hospicecare, to both raise awareness of the incredible work of the Hospice and raise vital funds. 

Previous fundraising experience is not essential. You will be fully supported to develop your skills within an experienced Community Fundraising team and will have the opportunity to make a big impact on our programmes.

Your enthusiasm, initiative, and energy will make you an engaging member of the team, seeking out opportunities and building important relationships within our local community. You will use your excellent communication skills to inspire people from all walks of life as you forge new relationships and develop existing ones.

Weston Hospicecare provides care to patients and families across North Somerset including Weston-super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Clevedon and surrounding areas. You will be confident to travel across all three areas with an initial focus on activity in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare and be happy to work in different locations as required.

Who we are looking for:

A Permanent Customer Relations and Sales Officer to work as part of a centralised sales team, which leads all Autism Know How sales, logistic and customer support enquiries.

Managing all aspects of the customer sales journey, this role will lead and deliver an effective, timely and professional customer journey and experience, maximising income potential and repeat business to ensure performance against team sales targets and to enable the society to continue to improve its offering for autistic people.

This role will work closely with colleagues across Autism Know How, Marketing, CRM and Business Development departments, and other relevant NAS teams where required.

They are interested in someone who is able to demonstrate experience of working with political adversaries and has no fear of engaging in robust discussions on the future of environmental law and a reverse in the destruction of their biodiversity. 

They need someone who has knowledge of the UK’s marine environment, the marine planning system and marine protected areas. Experience of out reach and advocacy efforts which has resulted in the public and decision makers calling for the restoration of their marine environment

The PPASS service aims to improve and enhance the West Glamorgan regional advocacy network by creating a new form of peer advocacy and peer support for parents who are going through the child protection process, statutory assessment and/or the looked after children system within the Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea area.

Main duties

⦁ To provide an advocacy service for parents who are going through the child protection process, statutory assessment and/or the looked after children system

⦁ Provide advocacy support, to clients which may include accompanying clients to meetings, or support in writing letter to represent and/or negotiate on their behalf as requested.

⦁ To work in such a way as to encourage clients to self-advocate as much as possible via training/coaching/rehearsing

⦁ To provide clear information to enable clients to understand their rights and to make informed choices on options available to them

⦁ Undertaking promotional activities across West Glamorgan to promote the service in line with an agreed promotional plan.

⦁ Attending various meetings as requested by the council which may relate to promoting, reviewing and evaluating the service.

⦁ To make and maintain secure, accurate and confidential case records

⦁ To maintain contacts in the community

⦁ Work alongside the peer support workers to provide a wrap-around service for the clients. 

In conjunction with the manager actively develop and maintain links with other advocacy groups within Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea.
