The role:

Due to internal movement, Mary’s Meals International (MMI) is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our growing global finance team. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you will play a key role in our finance team, leading on the strengthening of our financial processes and controls, managing our statutory accounts and external audit process.

You will:

• Lead on the production of the Annual Accounts in line with FRS 102 (Charities SORP) and statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process throughout the year.
• Evaluate, develop and implement appropriate financial systems & processes, including liaising with suppliers/3rd party providers as required.
• Quality control the completion and recording of financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage treasury, cashflow activity, including proactive monitoring of our currency mix.  
• Provide direction, leadership and support to a small team of Finance Assistants.
• Support and challenge the financial control and financial management across MMI to ensure good stewardship of funds.  

About you:

• Strong experience in accountancy, including financial processes, controls, and annual accounts preparation.
• Proven experience of UK accountancy practices and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality, accurate financial information.

The Project Manager (Sport) will lead on developing projects which increase and diversify the sports-based enrichment opportunities available for young people completing their DofE sectional activities.

The purpose of the role is to lead an outstanding IT service across the Trust and cultivate a high performing team that supports all staff, people we support and other stakeholders.

Reporting to the Resource Director, the role will be key in supporting the digital transformation agenda, providing IT and data expertise that will enable higher quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and maximise efficiencies within the services that we provide. 

Main Responsibilities   

• Developing the IT strategy in alignment with the Trust wide strategic goals and evolving digital transformation priorities;

• Oversee the Trust’s approach to Cyber security, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice. Being the subject matter expert for the organisation.

• Oversee the Trust’s data and privacy framework, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws and training and educating staff as required on data protection measures;

• Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the Trust’s IT systems;

What you’ll bring to the role:   

• Recognised Degree in Business IT or Computer Science related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Job Purpose:

The MEL Coordinator will play a key role in the success of WAGGGS and our ability to deliver value for our Member Organisations in 153 countries. Together our Member Organisations represent over 10 million girls and young women around the world.

Becoming a team member at the Global Programmes Team (GPT) that oversees multiple programmes delivered in partnership with our Member Organisations across several countries, the MEL Coordinator will share the responsibility of ensuring high quality Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes are integrated into all programmatic efforts.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical MEL Coordinator to join our team. This person will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities across our programmes, especially those focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), ensuring high quality and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Parallel is seeking an enthusiastic senior web developer who is excited to direct their skills towards our mission of increasing the number and diversity of excellent young mathematicians. 

Founded by bestselling science writer Simon Simon MBE, Parallel is a small but ambitious charitable initiative. We support bright and keen students to develop their mathematical curiosity and problem solving skills beyond the curriculum. This includes puzzle sheets, large interactive webinars, and a tutoring programme (Parallel Academy) which provides small-group tutorials to over 600 state school secondary school students. Our tutorial programme is completely free for the first year, and heavily subsidised thereafter, but cost will never be a barrier to participation.

All of these initiatives are managed through our online platform which:

• Uses Remix, Lambda & GraphQL AppSync
• Is a bespoke learning management system for thousands of 10-17 year old students, and includes functionality such as interactive webinars and personalised maths tutorials with quizzes, tests, reports & data dashboards.
• Has distinct user experiences for students, school teachers, tutors and project administrators.
   

This role:

So far, the Parallel platform has been developed and maintained by a single volunteer developer. As we look to expand the project to reach many thousands more students each year, we are now looking for additional support to help maintain the platform, attend to daily issues and support with new feature development.

The Parallel platform is built with the following technologies:

• Frontend: React, Typescript

• Backend: Node.js, GraphQL (AWS Appsync)

• Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, AppSync, Dynamodb), Firebase

Experience with all of these technologies is desired but not critical. You will be joining a very small team, however, so the ability to work, troubleshoot, & learn independently is crucial.

We expect that this role will require 20 hours per month, with some variation from one week to the next. Our success to date has relied upon the rapid responsiveness of our lead developer and, working under his supervision, we require the same from this role.

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education, and community-building.

With a particular focus on coordinating and supporting our Branch network, you will collaborate on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. You will be the first port of call for advice and expertise relating to school libraries and enabling our members to more effectively support their school communities. Supporting the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops for members, you will work with your SLA colleagues, in particular the Training and Events Officer, to deliver a high-quality member offer and to ensure member needs are reflected in all offerings. The ability to travel to training and events across the UK is essential. Duties include:

Branch network and member support

• Work with the CEO to develop the SLA Branch Network and accompanying strategies
• Identify opportunities for developing initiatives to grow and develop the Branch network community, that will deliver on the SLA mission
• Develop strong relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders to support network growth and enable members to take full advantage of all relevant opportunities available to them
• Provide advice for SLA members on all aspects of school libraries, ensuring they are supported and can be as effective as possible in their school communities 
• Drive engagement and development of online communities as part of the branch network

 Training and events

• Work with the Training and Events Coordinator to support and deliver a calendar of exciting, engaging and informative events
• Support the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops with a focus on the Branch network community
• Represent the association at relevant events and for programmes (e.g., conferences, webinars, book awards) to promote membership and services
• Support training and event delivery (online and in-person), engaging and inspiring audiences as needed
• Support development of training programmes, toolkits and resources using member insight to inform

Outreach and communications

• Coordinate the mentoring scheme and ensure it is promoted effectively, with necessary support and development available to mentees and training for mentors
• Use your sector insight to identify opportunities for development of research and other initiatives, maintaining links and horizon scanning
• Provide SLA consultancy aligned with strategic approaches, supporting schools with development of their libraries, reading and information literacy provision to help children and young people reach their full potential
• Contribute to SLA communications such as TSL, newsletters, updates, and promotional materials
• Oversee the book review process in support of TSL, our quarterly journal
• Supporting management of the SLA resource library, working with colleagues to ensure alignment
• Support outreach to new audiences

Building relationships and an ability to foster collaboration and community engagement will be an important part of this role. All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.

To be successful in this role you should ideally be able to demonstrate:

· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape

· clear understanding of the curriculum and teaching and learning outcomes

· knowledge of children and young people’s literature

· experience developing and delivering inspirational training, to small and large groups, both online and in person

· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources

· ability to galvanise and inspire others with flair and creativity

· the ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet competing deadlines

· the ability to work hours flexibly around event and training delivery

An expert communicator, you will be experienced in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Experience of consultancy, schools’ engagement and outreach would be advantage.

The salary for this position is £19, 594.59 (FTE £29,000) for 25 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy.
