Leaving a gift in their Will is likely the biggest and most important gift someone will give. From creating supporter journeys which lead to new legacy pledges to looking after legacy pledgers, and educating the organisation on the importance of legacies, you will be responsible for leading on our Legacy programme. You’ll also use data-driven insight, segmentation, and testing to maximise income from appeals, regular gifts and one-off cash donations. You will help to maintain and review our retention and stewardship strategy and ensure that our donors’ needs are fulfilled to create best possible supporter experience.

This assignment will be fulfilled at 30 hours per week across Monday–Thursday. The successful applicant will be required to visit the charity's Twickenham office at a minimum of once per week.

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.

The CEO is excited to welcome a proactive, purpose-driven, and resourceful Communications and Engagement Lead to join their small and purposeful team and support the next phase in their journey.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.

You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.

While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.

Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.

Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.

A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).

Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

The Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced support worker to join our Young People Support Team based in Hackney. You will provide client directed, person centred support to help young people achieve personal goals and aspirations for independent living, training, employment, and education. You will assist and collaborate with young people to create and carry out a support plan designed around their needs and aspirations, providing information and inspiration, practical support, innovation, and encouragement. You will have an individual caseload but will work alongside a team of Support Workers, with similar client groups, working to the same principles and goals.

In this role, you will provide a warm and welcoming reception for young people, staff, and visitors over the phone and in person, so if you are approachable, passionate, and non-judgemental, this could be your role.

You will indirectly support young people by ensuring that our Centre operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing delivery space, facilities compliance and controlling office equipment and supplies. Having previous administrative experience is beneficial but not essential.

To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of the challenges young people within our target groups face, to assist them when they arrive in our Centre. In this role, no two days are the same; you get to be involved with many different functions of the Trust and interact with everyone who works in the Centre, which is why planning and organisation skills are a must.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate the Youth Zone’s Enterprise and Employability programme. At Fear Free, we take pride in delivering exceptional services across the Southwest region, and we are excited to announce that we are launching a new team delivering sexual violence therapeutic support across Wiltshire and Swindon. Part of a diverse team of professionals supporting adult and child victims of sexual violence, you will play an integral role in providing one-to-one and group support for adult survivors. 

The Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) will work within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person-centred independent service for adult and children who are victims of sexual violence, empowering choice through informed decision making. Key elements of the role include: 

• Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe (safety planning). 

• Working with primary and secondary schools within Wiltshire to provide support and guidance on how to support children affected by sexual violence or abuse 

• Providing informal education in assemblies and schools around consent and healthy relationships around Wiltshire

• Provision of 1-1  psychoeducational support sessions, with a focus on safety and stabilisation. 

• Enabling victims to access statutory and other services. 

This ISVA role requires the building of effective relationships with other agencies especially educational settings within Wiltshire that may support victims of sexual violence, developing referral pathways and creating outward facing information resources and campaigns to raise awareness and build confidence in reporting sexual violence. 

The ISVA will be required to work to the Quality Standards for services supporting victims/survivors of sexual violence. 

This fixed term role for 12 months will be based in our Trowbridge office, with expectation of paid travel across the area. Fear Free supports staff to work flexibly and we operate hybrid working (working both remotely and in the offices). 

Key Responsibilities 

• To provide a person centred, client focused, independent service, distinct from the role of a crisis worker or counsellor, primarily for the benefit of the victims of sexual abuse. 

• To work with family members and supporters of victims to provide information and support where appropriate and required. 

• To work within educational settings like primary and secondary schools in Wiltshire to ensure there is support for DSLs who support students who have been victims of sexual abuse. 

• To deliver educational sessions in school assemblies and classes around consent and healthy relationships. 

• To be point of contact for schools in Wiltshire for advice and guidance. 

• To work with victims who have chosen to report their abuse and those who have not and provide a victim led service to all service users, empowering choice through informed decision making. 

• To complete a support needs analysis, including risk assessments, in relation to support and counselling services and create an individualised safety plan for each client. 

• To provide specialist psychoeducational support, focusing on safety and stabilisation, to support victims to manage their experience of trauma. 

• To provide practical and emotional support to meet the needs of each individual service user to enable them to move forwards towards recovery. 

• To refer on to other support if required, including internally to our other therapeutic based supports. 

• To provide sensitive and non–judgmental support, enabling the service user to regain control and self-esteem. 

• Encourage/assist clients to develop their own support network. 

• To provide information to enable clients to make informed decisions in relation to the self-referral option, medical care, forensic examination, making a police report, mental health and sexual health and onward referrals.

• To promote the service to external agencies where applicable.

• To produce clear record keeping/documentation, in a timely manner according to Fear Free’ policies and procedures. 

• To assess, offer and gain consent from the client for any onward referrals. 

• To document clearly any safeguarding concerns, complete any relevant risk assessments and liaise with relevant safeguarding teams and attend MARAC, MASH and Children’s’ Services meetings if appropriate.

• Ensuring that the service user’s views, opinions, wishes and needs are understood, respected and listened to and held at the forefront of support, whilst fully complying with all safeguarding requirements. 

• Safeguard the health & welfare of service users and their families. 

• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services. 

• Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved. 

• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.

• To manage a case load – balancing new referrals, existing cases and closing cases. 

• To offer specialist advice to other professionals and agencies where required.
