This is an exciting opportunity to join our established ‘Someone to Talk to’ service in a Team Lead role. The Team Lead will manage and oversee a team of staff and volunteers supporting young people across Centre 33’s two hubs in our South Locality – in Cambridge City and Ely. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with experience working within a practical support, youth work or mental health role, and with experience of managing people. The Team Lead will bring strong expertise and leadership to Centre 33’s holistic support offer for young people aged 13-25 years: our open-access drop-in, ongoing support around practical needs such as housing, and flexible mental health support. They will be responsible for providing support with case allocation, case management, reflective practice, risk management and Safeguarding. They will provide day-to-day designated Safeguarding leadership, supported by the Head of Service and Director of Services. They will develop strong relationships with local organisations to ensure effective joint working and support for young people. This role may deliver ad hoc case work to support young people with more complex needs but will not hold an ongoing regular case load.
The hours of work for this role are predominantly within core opening hours of 10 to 6pm, with some evening/Saturday working based on a rota. Due to our service delivery, it is important that the Team Lead is available for hub-based work during our core working hours.

About the role
Using your legal expertise, you will play a key role in tackling housing injustice and unfair housing practices. You will be working under our Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at court where needed. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homelessness will also be a considerable part of the role. You will also work with the team in the Hub to help make sure people in the community are aware of their housing rights and how to enforce them, as well as providing support to Trainee Solicitors and Legal Advisers, ensuring good practice and compliance.
About You
Qualified as a Solicitor, you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and substantial experience of managing a wide range of housing cases. You have strong skills in court advocacy, litigation, report writing, file reviews and are able to meet financial targets. You will be able to meet the 2018 SQM supervisor standard in housing and be able to demonstrate experience of working under a legal aid contract.

About The Team
Our Legal Service provides specialist legal knowledge across Shelter through four teams covering Community Legal advice, Strategic Litigation, the National Legal Team and Legal Support Team. You will be part of our Community Legal Team, who are based across our 11 hub locations and work alongside hub colleagues every day to fight housing injustice and deliver systemic change relating to housing practice in our local communities.
Shelter North East has been supporting people in the region for over 25 years and provides advice over 12 local authorities. We are made up of an advice team, legal team, administration team as well as support services which include Housing First and DIY skills service. National staff based in the hub include a Community Fundraiser and Community Organiser, Lived Experience Officer and Business Development Manager.

About the Role
To work as part of a team that delivers an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported or community-based accommodation. Our work is underpinned by the Endeavour model of assets-based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim of this is to ensure that every client leaves the service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for managing the building to ensure that the accommodation provided to the clients is safe and secure through the provision of overnight concierge service, security and door control. This includes controlling access to buildings, being the first point of contact for all emergencies and carrying out Health and Safety checks and cleaning.
Key responsibilities include:
- You will always ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.

- You will be the first point of contact for visitors, contractors or services visiting the building at night

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, whilst working proactively with other professionals, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an Accommodation Adviser for our team based in Humberside, to provide tailored support to women under probation supervision within the community and helping reintegrate into a life outside the justice system.
About the role
You will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each client, having a detailed discussion with them to outline their situation and the support they need. A strengths-based approach is used to identify the positive attributes that they can build upon to achieve their goals and is reflected in the design of the INA.
Working together with your client, you will map out and agree a set of interventions and the outcomes needed, encouraging and empowering them to actively contribute towards their goals.
You will carry a fluctuating case load of service users with varying levels of needs. The focus of the service is to support the desistance model, supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.
The position will be based Hull Women’s Centre, with other locations and travel expected when needed across the National Probation Service Region in Humberside.
About You
You have considerable experience of housing law and debt advice, along with an understanding of issues affecting homelessness and women with multiple and complex needs. You have a successful track record of delivering services for women and advocating for clients to agencies and authorities. You can adapt complex information into practical plans and proactively manage your caseload.
Motivating and encouraging your clients will be a key part of the role, as well the ability to build rapport, trust and actively listen to their needs. As you will be working closely with clients, a sound understanding of professional boundaries is crucial. If you have experience of working in a criminal justice setting that would be an advantage but is not essential.

Working with local communities and partners, you will empower people to fight the root causes of bad housing and homelessness and defend the right to a safe home.

You will provide a comprehensive homelessness service to customers with a range of housing related issues on behalf of Publica and involved with assisting in the day to day running of Publica’s Homeless Hostel’s.
Creating individual housing plans for every applicant which fully reflects their needs and circumstances, whilst managing and resolving caseloads for those currently experiencing a housing crisis. Sourcing appropriate short term and long term accommodation to assist the council in discharging its duties, whilst maintaining accurate records both written and electronically and ensuring they are captured and recorded accurately.
