Brief role description:

The Marketing Manager will lead the delivery of high-impact, multi-channel campaigns that enhance engagement, drive fundraising initiatives, and strengthen support for our mission: to provide life-long, life-changing support, employment and training opportunities to Service leavers, veterans, reservists and their families. 
As we mark our 140th anniversary, this is a pivotal time for the Marketing Manager to lead a team of four marketing specialists to drive impactful campaigns and amplify the Charity’s presence across multiple platforms. You will work closely with programme managers across the business to identify marketing needs and opportunities, while working with the wider MarComms department to develop and deliver marketing campaigns, advise on the most effective delivery channels, and propose ways of enhancing the Forces Employment Charity presence.​

We’re looking for a Resettlement Officer to join our frontline team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, working at the intersection of criminal justice, homelessness prevention and social reintegration. You’ll manage a caseload of people returning to the UK after prison abroad, providing essential support and advice around housing, benefits, mental health, and advocacy for this overlooked group, and co-facilitate support groups.

You’ll need frontline experience supporting people with multiple needs, strong advocacy and communication skills, and a non-judgemental, person-centred approach.

A few practical things:

Job Title: Families Employment Specialist – Maternity Cover

Location: Home-based with significant travel

Salary: £32,208

Launched two years ago with pilot funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund this service has expanded with additional funding secured until 2027.

We are looking for people who place importance in values such as empathy, collaboration and adaptability and are especially interested in applicants who have lived-experience within the armed forces community as a spouse or family member.

This role will be home-based with all necessary IT equipment provided therefore applicants will need an appropriate space to work at home. The families services is delivered mainly online with flexibility required for occasional evening / weekend working to meet the needs of the families we support.

Regular travel will be required to attend events and visit partners to spread the word about the service and build referral pathways nationwide.  There will be occasional travel required for national team meetings in Richmond. These currently take place 3 times a year and require an overnight stay. There will also be periodic in-person meetings with colleagues which can take place at a convenient location locally.

Context of Job

 AFK is a national charity helping young disabled people develop their independence and find employment. Our vision is a world where all people living with a disability get to lead the life they choose. As part of this we provide bespoke employment skills training and organise work placements across North London. At a national level, we provide mobility equipment not available on the NHS for disabled children and young people up to the age of 25.

Job Purpose

To support young people with disabilities aged 18 to 25 to progress towards and into employment.

The role will involve liaising with education professionals and employers and brokering new opportunities for supported employment, volunteering, and work placements. You will work with young people to provide specialist one to one coaching, assess, and develop their employability skills and support them towards their own goals and objectives. 

Working Conditions

This post is 35 hours per week. The post holder will occasionally be expected to work some evenings and weekends as required by the job.

28 days annual leave will be given in addition to normal public holidays. There is a TOIL Policy.

Principle Responsibilities

· Work with a caseload of individual young people to identify and support their aspirations for future employment and formulate plans to enable them to achieve their goals.

· Contribute to progress reports, reviews, open evenings and other events with education professionals, families, and young people

· Provide intensive 1:1 support in all aspects of employment support.

· Inform and work closely with the Employment Broker on the type of jobs that trainees want sourced, or job carved so that placements can be sought.

· Refer people for specialist advice and support 

· Secure voluntary work, work tasters and work experience placements for individuals to support their journey towards employment.

· Work with our experienced Service Delivery Team to deliver or co-ordinate coaching, and training as required.

· Support people in the workplace as required.

· Develop and maintain knowledge of the local labour market and opportunities relating to employment, work experience and volunteering.

· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local employer groups, statutory, voluntary, and private organizations to support the development of suitable opportunities.

· Engage with businesses that can create employment, volunteering, and work placements, including providing training / advice to employers as required.

· Identify any financial implications for individuals related to part time employment and disability benefits.

• As a funding officer you will assess requests for funding and work together with colleagues to make funding decisions.

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will join a small and high-performing Corporate Partnerships team, taking over a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects at our ‘consortium’ partner level, ranging from £10k-£50k per annum.

You will identify, engage, secure, and steward corporate partner prospects from sectors that include law, construction, manufacturing and logistics, as well as supporting other team members across different sectors as the need arises. The existing portfolio of partners are primarily legal firms who also engage with our impactful programmes, and you will also have personal and team new business targets and support senior team members to steward our flagship partners.

We are looking for a fundraiser who is keen to develop their corporate fundraising skills, especially building relationships with delivery partners, strategic funders, and corporate foundations. Our ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, a confident communicator, and able to work independently under their own initiative as well as within the team.

The role will be line managed by the Head of Corporate Partnerships, working closely with other members of the Corporate Partnerships team, and collaboratively across the wider Development team and Employability Programmes team. 

Main duties

New business

• Personally scope, develop and secure new corporate partnerships at consortium level (£10k-£50k), aiming for a robust portfolio of partners in assigned sectors with multi-year commitments, working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and other relevant stakeholders to appropriately to secure and steward.
• Support the Head of Corporate Partnerships to engage in proactive new business development within the corporate sector, including support for network mapping with senior volunteers.
• Manage writing and submission of reports and proposals for grants to corporate foundations, working alongside other Development team and wider organisation members to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Alongside team members, manage the shared Development inbox to ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a prompt, consistent, and friendly manner.
• Follow all relevant policies and processes to ensure due diligence is completed for all prospective donors, account management plans are kept up to date, and corporate partners receive high-quality stewardship.

Account Management and Development

• Manage and grow the portfolio of ‘consortium’ level corporate partnerships, including leveraging existing relationships to maximise financial income and partnership longevity.
• Support senior team members on designated high-value partnerships, including specific administrative and project tasks, e.g. coordinating meetings and webinars, attending programme visits, event invites, and volunteering opportunities.
• Write and deliver engaging and high-quality partnership proposals and reports for new and existing ‘consortium’ level funders, working with the wider Development team and relevant other Sutton Trust teams as appropriate.
• Be accountable for achieving agreed corporate income targets, looking for opportunities to grow funding and diversify corporate income.

Fundraising, Finance and Reporting

• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences in the corporate space, representing the Trust with confidence and enthusiasm to secure major gifts and develop relationships.
• Ensure the Trust’s CRM (Salesforce), account management plans, and all relevant income pipeline documents are kept appropriately up to date with activity from corporate partners, including accurate income forecasting.
• Attend appropriate meetings, such as the Employer Working Group, to represent the corporate team and portfolio of partners, and share information with colleagues across the Trust.
• Work with colleagues to support delivery of impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for corporate partners and prospects.
• Appropriately follow policies and procedures on due diligence, Salesforce and data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.
• Stay up to date with corporate fundraising best practice, learning from senior members of the corporate team, and keep abreast of developments and opportunities within the wider fundraising space.
