Job Title: Service Manager

Location: Derby City (office based)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to work from site and participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality services to the women and their children living in our refuges and survivors of domestic abuse supported by our community outreach service.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.

Our service provision in Derby includes culturally specific service for South Asian women as well as a specialist multiple disadvantage support worker who support survivors facing enhanced needs.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based and the outreach service staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges and the outreach service always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant criminal and civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with staff that support survivors and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse and other gender-based violence.

About the Role

As Service Manager you will oversee a group of supported accommodation services across Lambeth, Twickenham and Greenwich. The service supports young people aged 16 to 25, including those at risk of homelessness and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

You will manage five properties and lead a team of Progression Coaches, Night Progression Coaches, a Senior Coach, a Floating Support Worker, an Apprentice and volunteers. Working closely with Lambeth commissioners and the Leaving Care Team, you will ensure high-quality, safe and responsive services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and motivating a team to deliver person-centred, high-quality support
• Overseeing service delivery to meet contract requirements and KPIs
• Ensuring effective safeguarding, health and safety and compliance
• Building and maintaining strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies
• Managing budgets, assets and reporting requirements
• Maintaining positive relationships with neighbours and local communities
• Contributing to on-call rota for London-wide emergency cover

About You

We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in managing services that support vulnerable young people. You’ll have:

Job Description:

Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.

The Miscarriage of Justice Support Service is a very unique service providing a broad range of support and advice to people whose criminal convictions are quashed by the Court of Appeal. The majority of people have been in prison for many years and need extensive help and support to begin to rebuild their lives based on their own individual needs.

One of our caseworkers is going on a sabbatical, which this role will cover, including 2 weeks of handover at the start, and 1 week at the end.

The role will support individuals in a broad range of areas including welfare benefits, housing, navigating access to GPs, mental health support, community services, and applying for grants or essentials post-release (e.g. white goods, clothing).

The role involves one-to-one contact in a way that best meets the person – for this role it will typically be by telephone and email, but it can also be in person. Clients live across England and Wales.

You will come with experience of providing advice and practical support to people with varied needs. You will have experience of working with a trauma-informed approach and have excellent people skills to build and maintain trusting relationships.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for dedicated School Mental Health Practitioners to join the Harris Federation’s central mental health team and make a meaningful impact in secondary schools across London.

You will be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team led by our Lead Mental Health Practitioner, receiving regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development and helping to shape the future of mental health support in education.

In this full-time role, you will deliver evidence-based, low-intensity mental health interventions to students aged 11–18 across up to three Harris secondary academies. You will work directly with students through 1:1 sessions, group work and whole-school wellbeing initiatives, helping to shape a culture of mental health awareness and support.

You will be based in schools for four days per week, primarily in South, South East and South West London, and occasionally in North London. Travel between schools is required.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 mental health and wellbeing support to students and their families
• Facilitating small group interventions and psychoeducational sessions
• Running drop-in sessions during break and lunch times for students experiencing mild to moderate distress
• Collaborating with school staff to promote mental health awareness and training
• Contributing to school-wide risk assessments and wellbeing strategies
• Maintaining accurate records and report on outcomes using national standards
• Sharing best practices and innovations across our network of schools

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will hold a key leadership role at the heart of bemix. About the Development Operations & Stewardship Manager role:

This job sits within the Museum’s Development Team, supporting a team of fundraisers to build philanthropic relationships, corporate partnerships and run National Museums Scotland’s Membership programme. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Development and be a senior member of the Development team. The post holder will bring experience and knowledge of best practice across the full Development Operations function, including CRM and supporter insight, prospect research, and financial reconciliation and reporting. They will be excited by the opportunity to embed new ways of working within the Development team and to contribute to National Museums Scotland mission.

As Development Operations & Stewardship Manager at National Museums Scotland you will:

• Ensure that the CRM system(s) support fundraising objectives, processes and reporting requirements, maximising opportunities for actionable insights that enable fundraising growth
• Analyse and use supporter data to advise the department on strategic decisions, as well as preparing financial reports and forecasts
• Devise and lead a strategic prospect research plan, aligned with strategic funding priorities
• Oversee the accurate and timely reconciliation, recording and tracking of pledges and gifts across multiple income streams and three organisations
• Develop, implement and manage the supporter Stewardship framework, ensuring aligned donor and supporter retention activity across all income streams

Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Development Operations & Stewardship Manager:

• Senior fundraising operations role in the culture, higher education or third sector
• Significant experience of working with Tessitura, Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising CRM(s)
• Significant experience of prospect research and pipeline management
• Advanced problem solving, organisational and planning skills
• Knowledge of the fundraising trends and data-led innovation in fundraising operations
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyse financial information quickly and accurately

Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with Education Support in their search for a Part-Time Finance & Data Manager to join their team in this newly created role, on a 0.8 FTE basis. Education Support is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of teachers and education staff in schools, colleges and universities.

The purpose of the Finance and Data Manager role is to support their financial and operational decision-making processes. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Data Systems, this role is responsible for the timely and accurate production of management accounts and data reporting across the organisation. The Finance and Data Manager will be required to use their strong financial acumen, technical proficiency in data analysis tools, and ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.

Education Support was established nearly 150 years ago. They were set up by teachers, for teachers. They’re here for everybody working within education, across all four nations of the United Kingdom. The key duties of the Part-Time Finance & Data Manager are as follows:

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Lead on day-to-day financial operational activity
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with departmental leads.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with auditors as required.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes.
• Support and advise budget holders on management accounts review/analysis.
• Develop and maintain a suite of reports to assist in monitoring performance, impact and strategic decision-making.
• Extract, clean, and analyse data from multiple systems to provide actionable insights.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and develop reporting solutions.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in reporting processes.
• To consider and implement process system improvements to improve user experience and enhance finance processing

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g. Xero, Sage, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner.
• Relationship building skills, both in the team and across the organisation.

This role will officially be based out of their offices in Holloway, however flexible working arrangements are on offer, with up to 60% of the week eligible to be worked from home.

Details:

Salary: £33,500 per annum.

Location: The post holder will be contractually based at Hospice House, Britannia Street, London, WC1X 9JG. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment. Our expectation is that you will come to London at least two days each month for team meetings, plus a quarterly ‘all staff’ event, and External Affairs away days a few times a year. The Communications team mostly comes into the office at least once a week on a Wednesday. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time.

You will work with powerful personal stories of hospice care, translating deeply moving human stories of grief and compassion into engaging and sensitive content.

Working closely with colleagues in the Membership Engagement and Communications & Campaigns teams, you’ll:

• Create and deliver compelling content across web, email and social media channels.
• Source and produce stories that showcase the incredible work of our members.
• Plan, research and build web pages, and manage social media activity.
• Analyse engagement data to provide insights and continuously improve our communications.

A key part of this role will involve building strong relationships with members through regular communications, meetings and hospice visits, helping you understand their needs and the challenges facing the sector.

About you

Are you a creative communicator who loves making content shine? You’ll have excellent copywriting skills and be able to craft clear, engaging messages for different audiences and channels. Confident in managing social media, you’ll know how to use analytics to track and improve performance. Highly organised, you can deliver communications to large, diverse audiences while working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to create great content.

We’re currently recruiting two full-time Peer Support Workers to work in our Sutton and Merton offices.

These 2 posts are part of a partnership between local voluntary sector organisations and South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust. Both posts focus on offering a range of emotional, social and practical wellbeing support to young adults aged 18-25. These posts do not require a formal mental health qualification. The Peer Support Worker posts are designated for those with their own lived experience of mental health challenges who have reached a point in their recovery where they feel ready to support others on their mental health journey.  

For these roles you need to have an open and flexible attitude; an understanding of mental health; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with young people. All posts are full-time office based and will require flexible working across service areas and interventions and will involve some regular evening and/or weekend work to meet the needs of young people. 

These posts offer an excellent opportunity to build skills and experience in the mental health field.
