What will you be doing? 

Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team

• Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
• Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
  
• Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications  in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
• Update donor CRM databases and website

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

Develop a system of evaluation to demonstrate the impact of the services that the charity is providing, with particular reference to mental health and wellbeing. 
Maintain and further develop partnerships with refugee sector agencies in the target areas, 
Network with local individuals and community groups and create partnerships as needed to promote a welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the area
Recruit and support volunteers to deliver the service
Lead on publicity and communications to promote the service, including regular newsletter and social media posts 
Develop ideas for and support cultural and fundraising events

Administrative tasks
Maintain the calendar of events and bookings and work with HHR CIC to coordinate bookings of the house between Sanctuary Breaks and trading income activities
Manage day to day finances and provide information as required to the Treasurer
Create and maintain a register of refugee sector organisations requesting sanctuary breaks, allocating bookings, supplying and handling relevant paperwork 

Job:  £25k pro rata,  18 hours per week (initially fixed-term 12 month contract)

About the role:

The post holder will work within The Passage’s Community Services as a Complex Case Outreach Worker and will lead on case management for people experiencing homelessness who are presenting in the footprints in which the team operate and/or who are accessing the Resource Centre. The post-holder will support individuals with substance use support needs and/or mental health issues and will lead on work with clients who are experiencing alcohol and/or drug dependencies and who may also be experiencing mental health problems or other health or social care needs.

Main duties:

• To manage a caseload of clients presenting within the footprints in which the Engagement & Outreach service operate and individuals who are accessing The Passage Resource Centre. To support clients with complex needs, supporting them to identify and work towards recovery and away from homelessness.
• Carry out assessments, case management, support planning and the delivery of interventions for clients including those experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse issues who are multiply-disadvantaged in their homelessness.
• Provide assertive outreach and engagement with street-based service users presenting with complex needs and barriers to engagement. Carry out monthly street-based audits to inform reporting and analysis of service outcomes.
• Support clients who are rough sleeping or involved in day time activity in the footprints in which the team operate to end their homelessness by linking them in with appropriate internal and external support services relevant to their needs. To provide support to clients who are accommodated, but may require ongoing support in order to maintain this accommodation, linking them in to appropriate local services.

General responsibilities:

• In conjunction with your line manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
• To ensure that all The Passage policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
• To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.
• To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of The Passage.

Desired experience:

• Significant experience of delivering support services to socially excluded clients in a street based/day centre or similar setting.
• Significant experience of working in a mental health and/or substance misuse setting, working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
• Experience of providing a fully sensitive and responsive service to clients in a psychologically informed manner.
• Experience of working cooperatively with external partner agencies, e.g. Police, Social Services, NHS, as well as housing providers and voluntary agencies.
• Experience of assessing client needs and supporting clients to address their needs through assertive outreach and case management.
• Experience of working in a client-centered recovery focused approach and the necessary professional social skills to initiate and maintain constructive and appropriate relations with clients and agencies.

Desired knowledge:

• Understanding the support needs of the street populations with complex health, and housing needs.
• Knowledge of services and legislative environment regarding housing, health, work and immigration as it relates to people experiencing homelessness.
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing and collate and evidence work and outcomes using case management databases.
• Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Frameworks.
• An understanding of the causes of homelessness and, in particular, the needs of people who are multiply-disadvantaged in their homelessness.
• Knowledge of housing pathways available to dual diagnosis clients and how to access them.
• A working knowledge of how to support people with either substance or mental health needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney.

This Early Intervention approach will enable young people to access support in a timely way within their own community and we will work collaboratively with the Hackney Super Youth Hub enabling a one stop shop experience for local young people.

We are looking for passionate and motivated Therapeutic Youth Workers who are committed to supporting positive change for local young people to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:

· Undertake 1:1, group, detached and outreach work with young people

· Provide one-to-one key-working up to 12 sessions, combining youth work values and principles with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to help address a wide range of issues that may impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing e.g. housing, employment, physical health, education, finances and relationships.

· Use a supportive, young person-centred approach. e.g. explaining what services are and what they do, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date, filling out forms together, making personal introductions, accompanying young people to initial meetings/sessions, being with them during phone calls etc.  

· To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.

· To maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans.

· Be an advocate for young people, supporting colleagues to understand adolescence, and how to engage with young people, particularly with concerns around:

o mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

o Supporting vulnerable groups who would not otherwise receive support (levelling-up).

o Improving children and young people’s engagement with EET.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

· QCF Level 3 Diploma in Youth work or equivalent and have experience of youth work in a youth work setting

· Experience of working with young people, delivering therapeutic groups and/or 1 to 1 interventions in a youth work or similar setting.

· To have an active interest in working with those affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact this has on their life.

· Experience of building positive, impactful relationships with young people responding to their needs

· Excellent, up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding needs and risks young people may face.

· Experienced in working as part of a safeguarding team around a child, i.e. Childrens services, education, CAMHS, etc

· Experience of working in with an outreach role, in the community and school settings.

· Confident working well independently as well as in a team setting.

· Ability to use own initiative and be able to respond to change as part of a pilot initiative.

· Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite (incl. Outlook and Word), with ability to accurately input sensitive data electronically

Our Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for Baby Lifeline’s social media channels, planning and creating content for our website and driving engagement with the individuals and organisations we need to reach.

Key responsibilities:

· To take ownership of content published via Baby Lifeline’s website and shared via its social media channels

· To use social media and Baby Lifeline’s website to drive income through fundraising

· To engage with stakeholders through digital activity, building positive two-way relationships

· To be strongly aware of developments in digital marketing, putting forward suggestions for new ways to increase public awareness of our charity, reach our most influential stakeholders, and boost fundraising

· To produce monthly social media monitoring reports

· To support Head of Communications & Marketing with the wider delivery of Baby Lifeline’s Communications Strategy

Skills and experience:

· Extensive professional use of social media and online platforms

· Extensive professional use of CMS (e.g. WordPress)

· A passion for digital marketing and the ways it can be used to achieve organisational objectives

· Copywriting experience for online marketing and communications, with the ability to share examples of work that has successfully engaged a target audience and provoked action

· Strong attention to detail

· Experience of creating and/or managing marketing databases

· Experience of producing stakeholder newsletters (e.g. via MailChimp)
