Summary
We have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist Apprentice to support the Central Quadrant of Harris secondary academies, helping to identify, attract and engage our communities.
Working with the Assistant Director and Principals from the Quadrant, you will have the opportunity to support with our Academy marketing strategies, including social media channels, newsletters, events and create graphic designs, images and videos for both organic and paid campaigns. You will also work with the Federation Talent Attraction Partner.
This is an apprentice role with a fixed-term duration of 18 months. Your learning will be supported by the completion of the Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
The Central Quadrant academies are based in Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Croydon and Bromley and the successful candidate will be part of the academy team. We can be flexible on your base academy within the Central Quadrant.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, primarily focussing on student and staff recruitment and improving brand awareness
- Designing and generating mixed media content for use on academy websites and relevant social media to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
- Managing day-to-day social media posting and platforms
- Helping to develop compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audiences
- Ensuring brand consistency across all communications and external media
- Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing press releases and academy newsletters
- Monitoring and adjusting campaigns to meet budget and performance objectives
- Using data analysis tools to record, interpret, and analyse campaign performance, and creating and delivering actionable reports driven by these insights
- Conducting ongoing research into audiences, preferences and trends
- Researching and generating ideas to maximise audience engagement
- Performing keyword research to identify trends and develop content which improves SEO, discoverability, and engagement
- Using industry standard packages to edit content

African Revival is a small, passionate charity based in Surrey. For more than 20 years we have been dedicated to building schools and improving access to education for children in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Director to lead and grow African Revival. This is an opportunity for a hands-on charity leader to strengthen our operations and governance, build sustainable income through fundraising and partnerships, and help expand our impact for children and communities.
Key responsibilities
- Governance & operations: ensure statutory and other reporting requirements are met in the UK and overseas; establish and maintain appropriate policies and procedures; manage day-to-day organisational administration; coordinate and attend Board and committee meetings and prepare papers.
- Leadership & stakeholder management: build and maintain close working relationships with UK and in-country staff, volunteers, trustees, donors and partners; champion a positive, inclusive culture. Help shape the charity’s strategic growth and long-term sustainability
- Finance oversight: uphold rigorous financial controls in partnership with the Finance Manager; support budgeting and forecasting (e.g., cashflow, movement in funds, in-country budgets); approve expenditure and monitor budget versus actuals, keeping the Treasurer and trustees appropriately informed.
- Fundraising & external relations: lead the coordination and delivery of key fundraising activity (including major events such as our annual Ball and Golf Day); research and submit applications to trusts and foundations; act as a public representative and ambassador for African Revival.
- Programme support & impact: work with UK and in-country teams to identify priorities, design and cost activities, and monitor progress and impact; strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning so we can evidence outcomes and continuously improve.
- Communications: oversee communications and reporting to donors and stakeholders, and support an engaging online presence across our website and social channels.
About you
Essential
- Senior leadership experience (in a charity, social enterprise, or non-profit organisation preferred but not essential).
- Proven ability to build and deliver fundraising activity (events, trusts & foundations, major donors and/or corporate partnerships).
- Strong operational and governance capability, including working effectively with a Board of Trustees.
- Sound financial oversight skills, with the ability to understand budgets, forecasts and financial controls.

The role
Drive is a high risk / high harm domestic abuse perpetration intervention. Its sole aim is to reduce the risk posed by those using high levels of harm towards family members and / or (ex) partners. This is achieved via disruption, diversion and direct behaviour change work, where safe to do so, within a multi-agency framework.
The Case Manager will strive to work one-to-one with perpetrators who have been identified as high risk to pro-actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and connect with complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with local agencies to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. However, it may not always be safe or possible to meet with the perpetrator. Equally as vital to risk reduction efforts is analysis of presenting information to identify ways to disrupt their abusive behaviour, alongside closeknit multiagency working to implement actions.
Throughout all intervention the Drive Case Manager will work closely with the local IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved.
The Case Manager will be responsible for delivering outcomes, working typically for up to 12 months to achieve behaviour change with each Service User.
About you
You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.
Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities.
You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client. You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person.
You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems.
Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will understand trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable.
Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

Experience and Skills
Essential
- Significant experience in strategic legacy leadership roles in large fundraising organisations.
- Experience of leading the development and implementation of large-scale legacy strategies and strategic initiatives that require deep stakeholder engagement in complex international organisations.
- Proven experience of delivering legacy fundraising with a demonstrable record of success in securing pledgers and developing a legacy pipeline. Experience in doing this in multiple markets is an advantage or at the global level in an international team.
- Ability to analyse complex data sets across multiple channels and markets to identify actionable insights. Adept at understanding market trends, consumer behaviour and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships and work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity.

Overall Purpose
The PR and Marketing Lead plays a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the NHS Charity sector’s brand reputation across media and digital channels and to reach our key audiences. As a senior member of the Strategic Engagement team, the postholder will help shape and deliver a compelling narrative about the role, need and impact of NHS charities, working with our NHS charity members to ensure our story is told in an emotive and engaging way.
Working closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement, the Associate Director of Communications, Communications Lead, PR Manager and the wider team, the postholder will provide strategic leadership across PR, digital content, brand messaging and storytelling. They will oversee forward planning of media moments, manage day-to-day PR operations, guide digital content strategy, and coordinate events and campaigns that raise the profile of the charity sector and deepen engagement with supporters, partners and members.
The role combines strategic oversight, hands-on content leadership, and team management to ensure coordinated, impactful communications that support our organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Media and Marketing Strategy
- Lead the strategic direction of PR, marketing and digital activity to support organisational priorities.

Storytelling and Content Leadership

- Use data and insight to inform digital content strategy and continuous improvement.

Media Operations
- Oversee a responsive, well-run press office managing enquiries, monitoring coverage and ensuring timely, high-quality responses.
- Support and guide the PR Manager to maximise media presence with target audiences.
- Build relationships with journalists and position NHS Charities Together and the wider NHS charity sector with our priority audiences.
- Oversee the team to manage our relationships with high profile supporters and celebrities.

Digital Channels
- Line-manage the Senior Communications Officer to ensure our digital channels effectively support organisational objectives.
- Oversee planning and delivery across website, social media and email marketing.
- Ensure digital activity is insight-led, audience-focused and continually optimised through analytics.
Campaigns, Events and Activities
- Oversee delivery of campaigns and events, ensuring they are well planned, impactful and aligned to brand and messaging.
- Work with internal teams to maximise the communications and marketing potential of organisational activities.
- Provide strategic input and coordination across multi-channel campaigns.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement and the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement and the Communications Lead to develop shared priorities, workflows and team culture.

- Represent Communications across the organisation and with external partners when required.

• Professional qualification or study toward CiCLA, LMAP, STEP, a law degree or equivalent.
