Job summary:
We are looking for an experienced Designer to lead Product and Service Development priorities from our growing Design and Innovation Team at BookTrust.
The Designer, Product and Service Development will lead on activating the key design priorities that have come out of our new strategy. The successful candidate will need to be a multiskilled, ambidextrous designer who can apply human-centered design approaches to online and offline products/services and design end-to-end experiences.
We’re looking for someone with a track record of working with multiple functional teams to design brilliant products and/or services and who has hands-on, practical design experience.
The successful candidate would be involved in projects such as; developing a new group storytelling offer, setting up new co-design cohorts and experimenting with approaches, leading the definition of a new age range product for our early years subscription Story Explorers.

Key Deliverables include

• Lead the design of new products or re-fresh our existing products using design thinking/human-centered approaches. This may include a variety of types of online and offline products incl digital touchpoints and content, in person experiences, resources and books, engagement and training.
• Work with our Research & Impact team to establish a robust design learning approach, that supports us to make rapid progress in designing and delivering new or improved products.
• Work closely with our supply chain, IT, digital, books and content teams to develop prototypes and pilots that will test and refine our product offerings.
• Build strong relationships and influence at all levels and across multidisciplinary teams
• Support the transfer of new/re-developed products into business as usual by engaging and briefing key delivery teams and maintaining oversight of the product.
• Create excellent documentation including concept boards and low fidelity prototypes, process maps, ecosystem maps, journey maps and design briefs to enable product design.
• Work with the relevant D&I team lead to make sure design work aligns to the strategic plan and ambition.

Key Experiences Include

• Has strong practical experience of using design thinking or human centered design approaches to develop new or improve existing products and services (at least 3 years)
• Has an understanding of and experience working across the end-to-end design lifecycle from creating hypotheses, research, synthesising, ideation, prototyping, testing, and iterating.

About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us as an Evidence Officer, working as part of the Strategy, Impact and Evidence team. 

Sustrans’ Strategy, Impact and Evidence team is a leading centre of excellence in active travel research, monitoring and evaluation and we are recruiting now. As an Evidence Officer, you will work on a range of behaviour change and infrastructure projects, providing monitoring, evaluation, and analytical support. The Strategy, Impact and Evidence teamplays an important part in supporting our vision by providing robust evidence on sustainable and active travel that ultimately influences and shapes policy, practice and behaviour across the UK.

Focusing on monitoring and evaluating the impact of infrastructure and behaviour change programmes, you will work on a range of projects around the UK and be involved in the planning, delivery, analysis and reporting of our monitoring and evaluation work. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub. There is minimal travel required in this role, however in the course of your work you may have to travel to one of the nominated hubs or project sites if required to do so. 

About you

You should have demonstrable quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills, and be a competent Excel user or have working knowledge of statistical software, such as R.

As an excellent communicator in both oral and written forms, you will have with the ability to present data and findings clearly. You should also have the capability to find innovative and creative solutions to problems.

You will own some experience of project management as well as delivery of project monitoring and evaluation. You should also have some experience of working and communicating with suppliers, partners and/or clients.

The Role

The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.

This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.

The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.

As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.

In addition to income generation, this role will lead the Partnerships team and manage two to three staff as follows :

1. Our Corporate Partnerships and Volunteer Manager - oversees all volunteer logistics, including maintaining volunteer records and distributing relevant briefing materials to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their role. Some time dedicated to fundraising too.

2. Our Communication Coordinator – leads on our regular comms including our digital newsletter, social media pages, and bespoke comms for projects or funders.

3. Coordinator TBC.

Details

· The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising leads the Partnerships Team and reports to the CEO.

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays.

· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 days a week, with Wednesdays mandatory in the office.

· Flexibility will be required to cover meetings or events outside of these hours and WFH days.

Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage support staff, working with service users in their homes. Be aware of and work to trauma informed principles and manage the service as a psychologically informed environment. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is expanding its network of senior volunteers to boost income from corporate and philanthropic sources. 

As our Partnerships and Senior Networks Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting our income ambitions by cultivating relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and enhancing the charity’s ability to secure advice and support.

BHF’s senior volunteers help us drive income through introductions to their networks, advice around major giving and corporate partnership fundraising, and by advocating on our behalf to high-value audiences. About you

As our ideal candidate, you bring experience managing stakeholder engagement at senior levels (e.g. Trustees, board members, senior volunteers, high-net-worth donors and/or corporate leaders) as well as demonstrable experience in providing secretariat support to boards, committees, or similar groups.

With a background in philanthropic and/or corporate partnerships fundraising, you have a strong understanding of the charity sector and experience in managing communications on behalf of high-profile individuals, such as board members or organisational leaders.

About Clore Social Leadership

Since 2010, Clore Social Leadership has supported over 5,000 individuals from nearly 3,800 social sector organisations. Through our transformative skills and development programmes, we empower individuals from grassroots initiatives to global organisations to become agents of change.

We have developed leadership programmes for people with lived and/or learned experience of racial inequalities, youth services, immigration systems, criminal justice systems, social immobility, homelessness, gender inequalities, health inequalities and climate change.

About the Role

This dynamic and varied fixed-term role combines programme management with organisational development support, covering parental leave for a core member of the team.

You will:

• Lead coordination of our leadership development programmes and short courses during two key periods of parental leave (October-December 2025 and June-September 2026)

• Support broader organisational priorities in the interim (January-June 2026), with a likely focus on alumni engagement and development activities

This role is ideal for someone who combines confident programme and stakeholder management with the ability to pivot between delivery and strategy, and who thrives in a collaborative, values-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead coordination of our leadership development offer from October to December 2025 and June to September 2026

Programme Management

• Manage the planning and delivery of a portfolio of leadership programmes and short courses

• Coordinate all programme logistics including dates, venues, facilitators and course content

• Support facilitators' delivery of online and in-person learning sessions

• Maintain the programmes work and project plans and ensure quality and consistency across delivery

• Oversee programme applications, moderation and participant onboarding

• Manage accreditation processes

• Support the collection and analysis of evaluation data

• Work with the team to standardise and manage participant communications

• Maintain relationships with delivery partners, facilitators and stakeholders

• Monitor and adapt content using the online authoring tool (GoMo)

• Coordinate steering group activity and innovation outputs as required

Programme Facilitator Management

• Recruit, contract and manage programme facilitators and coaches

• Deliver onboarding and provide ongoing support

• Act as point of contact for facilitators and external delivery partners

Finance & Budget Oversight

• Manage programme budgets and attend monthly finance meetings

• Sign off coaching and programme invoices and line reports expenses

Customer Service

• Oversee phone and inbox communication with applicants and participants

• Ensure high-quality customer service, with consistent messaging and support

Line Management

• Line manage the Programmes Administrator, ensuring delivery and development support

Support organisational priorities from January 2026 to June 2026

Deliver targeted support to priority areas across the organisation, as required. This will likely include:

• Collaborating with the senior team to shape alumni engagement plans and activities

• Contributing to new partnership development

Person Specification

Terms and Working Hours

We are open to discussing flexible arrangements before or on application.

• Contract: This role is offered as a fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave from September 2025 – September 2026.

• Hours: This is a full-time role (35 hours per week). These hours are ideally worked during our core working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:30pm.

• Location: Hybrid working, with at least one day per week (currently Tuesdays) in the London office

• Eligibility: You must be UK-based to apply

Pay and Benefits

• Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum (FTE dependent on experience, pro rata for fixed-term staff)

• Annual Leave: 25 days, plus UK statutory holidays (pro rata for fixed-term staff)

• Winter Closure: Office closed 25-31 December (3 additional paid days)
