We are in the early stages of implementing our 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office and reporting to the Project and Programme Manager, the Project Officer supports the scoping, planning, and delivery of strategic, cross-team projects and programmes. The post holder also supports the Project and Programme Manager in embedding project management best practice across the wider organisation.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Project Management
· Deliver key, strategic projects, as determined by the yearly Operational Planning process, working with project teams to develop flexible project plans that can adapt to change.
· Manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies, liaise with third parties, and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints.
· Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into BAU.
· Support the Project and Programme Manager and Head of Programme Management on other ongoing projects and programmes as and when required.
Promotion of project management best practice
· Maintain ownership of the Projects team intranet pages and project management resources, for use by colleagues across the organisation.
· Provide tailored project management consultations to empower colleagues to deliver their own in-team projects.
· Support the Project and Programme Manager on delivering the ARUK Project Management Masterclass.
What we are looking for:
· Experience managing projects, including allocating tasks and managing risks, decisions, and changes.
· Sound knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
· Demonstrable ability to work with and influence a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
· Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar.
· Excellent communication skills, with an ability to build relationships, trust, and inspire confidence and respect at all levels.
· Strong team player who can work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
· Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload and reprioritise work in accordance with the organisation’s needs.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

What you will do:
Support the Fundraising team to uphold a high level of supporter care with a view to retention and increased engagement.
Efficiently and accurately process and reconcile all incoming donation information, received daily, weekly and monthly from multiple digital sources, onto our database and acknowledge these within agreed timescales.
Analyse all online income including but not exclusively from Just Giving, Enthuse, PayPal Giving Fund and Facebook along with all other income.
Ensure that all third party received income is recorded on Raisers Edge and produce accurate reports for internal stakeholders.

Distribute all parcels in a timely manner, making sure everything is recorded accurately.

The apprenticeship programme is due to start in September 2024, provided by the Juice Academy - an industry-led apprenticeship provider. They are partnered with Jane Montague Consultancy to deliver the 13-15 month Fundraiser Level 3 programme. Apprentices work on the job within a charity whilst receiving 20% off the job training from current industry experts. The training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning (two optional in-person days) in Manchester, and virtual half-day classrooms via Zoom. Apprentices also receive the on-the-job training in the workplace. The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices go through an End Point Assessment and are graded a pass, merit or distinction. Apprentices currently have a 94% distinction rate. The Juice Academy are part of the Apprentify Group, and development coaches support apprentices throughout the programme.

Our national work: Through an ‘open source’ online community platform, we provide all the resources necessary to set up a perinatal peer support initiative. Freely sharing all the tools that our local programme (Parents 1st Essex) uses in daily practice, from budget setting to volunteer training guides and impact tracking. Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.
Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.
Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

ShareAction is recruiting for a Senior Research Officer (SRO) to join the LIPH Programme and help support the delivery of our broad portfolio of work. The focus will primarily be on our consumer health campaign (LIPH’s most developed campaign focused on driving more responsible practice in the food industry) but will also support other workstreams, including community health (a newer campaign focused on improving air quality) and driving up investor standards on health. You will ensure our work is founded on robust evidence by taking the latest information and analysis into account and helping to produce credible and compelling outputs across the programme.
What you’ll do (key responsibilities)
You will work on the following key areas:
- Consumer health, primarily focusing on the Healthy Markets Initiative.
- Community health, focusing on our Air Quality initiative.
- Investor standards, focusing on our efforts to improve investor standards on health.
- Maintain and, where applicable, improve our evidence-based approach across all workstreams.
Key activities across these areas of work will include:
Content production
- Writing, editing and/or fact-checking content through different channels, including investor briefings, presentations, case studies, reports and social media content.
- With support from your line manager, you will be developing briefs for outsourced research-focused deliverables that the LIPH team may need and, at times, acting as the lead ShareAction contact for our contractors.
Research and analysis
- Conducting mainly secondary research and in some cases, primary through investor interviews, engagements with civil society groups and/or coalitions, company analysis etc.
- Analysing and reporting on research data, and clearly presenting key themes and findings.
- Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and issues relating to the LIPH programme.
Monitoring and evaluation
- With support from your team, you will be monitoring and reporting on the health-related practices and policies of companies.
- Supporting the Senior Project Officer in collating metrics for funder/other reporting.
External engagement
- W ith support from your team, you will be supporting external stakeholder meetings (e.g. contractors, research partners, investors or civil society groups).
Internal collaboration
- You will work closely with the Health team’s Senior Campaigns Officer and Senior Engagement Officer on end-to-end processes as well as peers across ShareAction to develop and disseminate good practice related to analysis and research.

About the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA)
The NSPA network has grown significantly since 2020. The number of organisations working with us has almost doubled and individual membership has increased four-fold. Whilst those running suicide prevention programmes are a significant proportion of our membership, a growing number are those whose core business is not suicide prevention but who recognise the need to take action and are seeking support to do so.
There are more organisations than ever working to prevent suicide and it can be difficult to navigate the wealth of information available and connect with organisations that may be undertaking similar/ relevant work. Some may be unaware of or find it difficult to access evidence around what works, what is already happening and what can be built upon.

Make a real difference in the lives of those affected by suicide, all whilst working in a supportive and inclusive environment. As our NSPA Content & Engagement Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our efforts to drive meaningful change to help prevent suicide.
Your Role
You’ll lead the development and delivery of a suicide prevention community engagement strategy and plan, including an online hub and ambassador initiative to support capacity building in suicide prevention across England. You will:
• Develop a more strategic approach to our engagement with members
• Support the next step in the development of our network by building an online community hub, to support on-going knowledge-sharing, community connection and depth of engagement with our wide range of members.
• Have the opportunity to build and manage relationships with NSPA members, people with lived experience and other key stakeholders.
• Manage the NSPA’s communications, working closely with the Membership & Communications Officers with strategic input from the Executive Lead.
Emotional Resilience
In this role you may be exposed to detailed information and personal stories of suicide, which may be upsetting. We will discuss this with you at interview stage however this role does require a good level of emotional resilience. Support is in place both from the organisation and within the team.

Job Summary
The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.
We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.
Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. The post holder has lead responsibility for developing the Annual Work Programme, performance management and reporting against the targets and milestones in the Contract.
Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This would include leading the shaping and delivery of a Capacity Building strategy; representing the VCS Alliance at stakeholder meetings and influencing key stakeholders to better support Haringey’s VCS; as well as growing the reach and impact of the Capacity Building service by engaging new funders and partners.

- Demonstrable experience leading on the development of an income strategy and in identifying and nurturing income opportunities, securing donations and grants in excess of 5-6 figures from individuals, corporate sponsors, and trust funders
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, with excellent networking skills and the ability to liaise and influence at a senior level.
- Experience sitting on an Executive Leadership Team and working closely with other Directors
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at differing seniority
