Job Summary:
This involves assessing, allocating and supporting our tenants on their journey with Stay and assisting successful move on. Teamwork is also a key part of this role to work alongside the wider housing team towards team and organisational objectives.
Role Specific Responsibilities:
· Deliver pro-active engagement with tenants to increase the potential for income collection by education, support and other interventions with customers as appropriate and in line with Stay’s policies.
· Provide advice to tenants on tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities in accordance with tenancy/licence conditions in face-to-face sessions or via the telephone/email/letter/text.
· Advice and guidance on issues such as tenancies at risk, whether through rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, property maintenance, unemployment, mental health issues and finance.
· Identify any/all factors that may be contributing to rent arrears: money mismanagement, budgeting issues etc.
· Give advice and assistance with housing problems including information on housing options.
· Take responsibility for a designated caseload of tenants requiring housing support including the identification of prospective tenants. Assist new tenants, particularly vulnerable and young tenants to set up and maintain a tenancy and be able to access support needed. Together with the customer draw up a personal housing plan.
· Assist tenants with security and safety matters within their home including door/window security, advice regarding household appliances and controls for heating, providing details of the repairs service and how to report and arrange repairs.
· Actively work with the tenants and colleagues around issues placing the tenancy at risk including breaches of the tenancy agreement: arrears, harassment, nuisance and other disputes when required.
· Build effective relationships with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) and maintain a knowledge base of these to signpost customers as required. Share information, where appropriate and in line with data protection and confidentiality, to meet the needs of the tenants.
· Ensure the maximisation of rent collection in line with targets and reduce rent arrears on a continuing basis through the effective enforcement of the rent arrears policy, procedure and systems working alongside the rents officer.
· Work in a performance target-led environment and have a commitment to attaining those targets.
· Prepare timely and accurate reports.
· Identify and implement good administrative practices and procedures.
· Maximise income collection by providing advice on welfare benefits and make referrals to specialist services and agencies where appropriate.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice in respect of all relevant administrative, legal and financial procedures.
· Respond promptly and effectively to enquiries or complaints with regards to rent or associated housing matters in accordance with Stay’s policies.
· Maintain appropriate and accurate records to comply with statutory and service-wide reporting requirements. Proactively monitor and report to the Housing Team Leader in respect of service delivery, performance indicators and targets.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of housing management practice and all relevant Stay and Housing Team procedures in to ensure the processes, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to and to contribute to the development of any reviews.
· Integrate tenant care into working practices through a ‘Tenant First’ approach, ensuring tenants are treated with respect and courtesy and experience a ‘seamless’ service. Adhere to Stay’s standards of tenant care in respect of answering correspondence, telephones and complaints.
· Maximise the use of information and communications technology to support the service and deliver efficiency improvements. Maintain up to date knowledge of systems and applications.
· Work collaboratively with the referral and assessments officer to evaluate applicants, conduct thorough needs and risk assessments, and perform reference checks before extending accommodation offers.
· Carry out an appropriate induction to the allocated Stay property once an offer has been made to an applicant.
· Liaise with The Rent Officer and Housing Benefit to ensure the customer’s account is active and the customer is aware of their responsibility of providing any information to ensure the housing benefit is paid and reduce all arrears.
· Liaise with Housing Benefit, Employment Services, Social Services, Probation Services and other authorities as necessary in relation to housing management.
· Ensure that tenants are compliant with and kept fully informed and consulted on matters affecting their Licence or Tenancy Agreements and they understand their rights and responsibilities: respecting other tenants, non-use of drugs etc.
· Ensure incidents/Safeguarding are fully reported and investigated and act to resolve the problem or take holding action until a permanent solution is found.
· Work with the Voids and Maintenance Team to undertake regular visits to the housing properties to inspect the accommodation and get customer feedback to ensure that repairs and cleaning of the buildings are carried out promptly to a high standard and that safety and security is maintained.
· Adhere to Stay’s Safeguarding Policies and take responsibility for making Safeguarding referrals to the relevant services and report any concerns to Stay’s Designated Safeguarding Officers.
· To address issues of social isolation and exclusion, facilitating client’s involvement in the community.
· To deliver person centred support through one-to-one sessions, group work and ad-hoc support.
· To record all contacts with tenants appropriately and in line with Stay’s policies and procedures and maintaining all relevant files and recording systems, ensuring information is updated.
· To produce appropriate written reports in a variety of formats to meet the requirements of managers, service providers and board of trustees.
· To assist tenants in acquiring the budgeting and social skills necessary to sustain accommodation effectively.
· To, where customers are at risk of eviction, provide advice and support and where necessary help them to seek legal advice.
· To actively promote tenants knowledge of and participation in Stay’s Client Involvement activity by promoting available opportunities such as membership of working groups, service evaluation, service changes and Stay’s Complaint’s, Comments and Suggestion policy.
· To ensure that clients understand their rights and responsibilities of the licence/tenancy to enable informed choices.
· To input and extract information from Stay’s IT systems, including client information.
· To undertake, as required, any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by the Team Leader, Service Manager and Operations Manager.

This role will be responsible for delivering support to individuals experiencing complex ill mental health and substance misuse issues, targeting achievable outcomes that promote and deliver positive outcomes for tenants in our services.The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions with a holistic assessment to support personalised recovery and promotion of independent living skills. Multi-disciplinary team working will be a part of the role, utilising and offering additional support and advice from partners and wider network services.
Key Responsibilities
Support Assessment & Delivery
- Implement and deliver dual-diagnosis support through 1.1 and group sessions to tenants experiencing issues with poor mental health and substance misuse.
- Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with tenants participating in the service to determine service and support needs and identity where these can be met.
- Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, personal aspirations of the tenant, and their achievements.
- Working with tenants, encourage them to identify their own goals and work towards independence and resilience. The key aims are to reduce the need for acute clinical interventions and hospitalisations.
- Put in place with the tenant, agreed SMART targets with a range of evidence-based interventions that addresses areas of need, such as harm minimisation, prevention of relapse for those in addiction recovery, and improved self-awareness and motivation.
- Through collaborative working with other teams in the organisation, enhance the personalised and choice-led support plan of tenants to integrate with their tenancy support needs and reducing the risk of tenancy loss due to dual-diagnosis issues.
- Help reduce episodes of crisis though support initiatives such as peer-led support groups.
- Be proactive in observing and responding to changing characteristics of tenants receiving support, recognising deterioration in mental wellbeing and putting in place interventions that reduce the likelihood of more acute support needs.
- Be a point of contact for tenants who are on the verge of experiencing a crisis episode, providing appropriate support and interventions to help avoid the need to access acute services.
- Foster positive working relationships with external stakeholders, breaking down barriers and improving access to appropriate support services such as specialised mental healthcare and addiction recovery programmes.
- Develop effective community links that expands support resources that to be offered to tenants.
- Develop all support plans and coaching sessions to embrace the key elements and principles of Trauma Informed Practice and Psychologically Informed Environments.
- Keep up to date with strategies and methodologies used in the support sector to ensure dual-diagnosis support in the organisation remains at a high level for all tenants accessing it.
- Promote the achievements of tenants receiving support through KPI reporting and case studies.
- Recognise goals and aspirations achieved by individuals and using the evidence obtained, formulate and develop future support plans and strategies that enhance the service.
- Work with team leaders and managers to develop our lived experience support in a structured and safe way.
- Deliver practical harm reduction, relapse prevention, and coping strategy workshops.
Risk Management
- Ensure accurate and up to date risk assessments are undertaken, putting in place effective risk management plans to mitigate risk of harm, neglect, and any other areas of risk to the tenant, staff, and wider community.
- Ensure all records and support plans are managed in compliance with organisational policies governing confidentiality, privacy, data sharing consent, and keeping to the requirements and principles of the UK GDPR.
General Responsibilities
- Support colleagues through the sharing of support strategies and techniques that will benefit tenants outside of dual-diagnosis sessions.
- Foster positive and effective working relationships with colleagues in the Housing and Support teams.
- Ensure adhere to Stay’s policies & procedures
- Represent the charity at relevant external meetings or forums as required.
- Always maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality, upholding the charity’s values and ethos.

GrowTH is a non-denominational Christian charity, which works in partnership with evangelical churches from a variety of backgrounds within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
GrowTH seeks to share God’s love with its homeless neighbours in word and deed. So, alongside receiving practical care and help, all GrowTH guests have the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus and to explore the Christian faith, if they wish.
GrowTH, has four main projects that make up the charity’s activities. They are as follows:
- Night Shelter: provides volunteer-run winter shelter in Tower Hamlets from October to April each year. Homeless men and women are referred to GrowTH by local homeless agencies. Once accepted into the shelter, guests receive a warm welcome, a hot evening meal, a safe bed for the night, and breakfast in the morning. The resettlement support there provides every guest in the shelter with one-to-one support from GrowTH’s two Advocate Workers to help them move out of homelessness, with the aim of resettling them into stable accommodation. We accommodate up to 15 Guests in the Shelter each night, and typically shelter around 150 Guests each season.
- Housing: provides medium term (twelve-eighteen month) affordable move-on homes locally for some who have stayed in the shelter, or are referred in from other sources, in order to help them transition towards independence. Each Resident is provided with bespoke support towards their support needs by our Housing team. We currently have 31 residents across 12 flats.
- Day Centre: provides a safe space for guests to meet with the staff team for advocacy and support meetings. There will also be space for shelter guests to relax and ample opportunities for both staff and volunteer-led evangelistic events, as well as prayer ministry.
- Lazarus House: a community house project for male residents. The house provides an opportunity for men seeking a fresh start to confront deep rooted issues impacting their lives, within a safe, loving, disciplined and family environment. This is a key partnership with the local churches in which they provide discipleship for the Residents as well as fellowship, and GrowTH provide the practical support and housing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing day-to-day oversight and support to GrowTH’s various frontline projects
- Provide oversight of logistics for GrowTH’s projects; ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee the provision of one-to-one support to Residents and Guests
- Manage referrals into the projects, and oversee move-on options for Residents and Guests

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide oversight of logistics for GrowTH’s projects; ensuring smooth daily operations
- Ensure the smooth running of the Shelter, Housing, Lazarus House and Day Centre operations.
- Oversee staff in making day-to-day decisions with regards to the support and casework given to Residents or Guests.
- Oversee the day-to-day logistics of the projects, and addressing any logistical challenges that arise.
- Resolve complaints and concerns raised by guests, residents, or staff effectively.
Oversee the provision of one-to-one support to Residents and Guests
- Along with other team members, provide support to Residents and Guests around their bespoke support needs – tenancy sustainment, finances, employment, health, and life skills, etc.
- Support frontline staff in the delivery of this support to Residents and Guests; assisting with suggestions or providing clear direction in their casework.
- Assist Residents and Guests in accessing support provided by other organisations or services.
- Oversee the provision of groups, activities, courses, or events to upskill Residents and Guests.
Manage referrals into the projects, and oversee move-on options for Residents and Guests
- Oversee the referral process, and the individual referrals that come into the Shelter and Housing and Lazarus House.
- Where required, assess prospective Residents or Guests for their suitability, and be able to clearly explain the individual projects and their criteria.
- Ensure that Residents and Guests are well prepared for their move ons from GrowTH’s projects, and oversee the presentation of move on options to each individual.
- Assisting frontline staff in the securing of onwards accommodation for Residents and Guests, which may include building strong connections with other providers, and researching new options.
Oversee good maintenance of properties and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety checks and other requirements
- Ensure that the decoration, fittings, and furnishings throughout the Housing project, Lazarus House and Day Centre are of good quality, checked regularly, and replaced when required. And that all GrowTH’s projects are clean, welcoming, and functional.
- Liaise with the landlord, contractors, or other relevant parties regarding repair works.
- Ensure that routine fire safety checks are undertaken in all of GrowTH’s properties, and that gas and electric safety certificates are obtained. Ensuring compliance will all relevant health and safety legislation.
Provide oversight for the development and implementation of new frontline projects
- Provide ongoing operational oversight for Lazarus House, supporting staff and ensuring high quality care and support for the Residents.
- Identify and assess opportunities for future projects that will enhance GrowTH’s mission, working with the Director to develop any new initiatives, should opportunities arise.
- Lead the setup and successful launch of any new frontline initiatives or projects, in alignment with GrowTH’s vision and values.
Oversee and regularly review the viability of GrowTH’s various projects
- Perform and lead regular reviews of each of GrowTH’s projects, to ensure that they are performing well compared to their pre-agreed targets and KPIs.
- Ensure that rental income is maximised, and apply for grants for specific needs if required.
- Track and report on the expenditure of the various projects.
Ensure sufficient policies and procedures are in place for the projects to comply with relevant legislation and guidelines
- Write and regularly update policies and procedures for the Housing, Shelter, Day Centre, and Lazarus House; in accordance with an changes in legislations, guidelines, or best practice.
- Ensure that staff are aware of the policies, well-trained, and follow these policies effectively.
Assist the Director with planning and strategic matters
- Review the Shelter, Housing, Lazarus House and Day Centre projects to identify areas for improvement.
- Meet with Director, Management team, and Trustees to plan the future of the projects.
- Meet with other organisations to learn and implement best practices.
- Assist the Director in organising and executing larger events and initiatives for the charity.
Support and line manage frontline staff in the Day Centre, Shelter, and Housing projects
- Provide line management to the frontline staff (currently Housing Workers, Advocate Workers, and Shelter Coordinator); including regular supervision, and appraisals.
- Supporting frontline staff in their roles; ensuring they have the training and resources that are required.
- Help to foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.

As an Enhanced Support Worker you will support vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community, by providing flexible and individually tailored support.
The working pattern involves a set five-week rolling rota covering early, late, and weekend shifts. Shift times: Early: 8am-4pm. Late: 2:30pm-10:30pm. The service operates 24 hours 7 days a week.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing
- You will hold a caseload of young people who are housed across our sites with the support of the team.Support provided is light touch, and a good knowledge of partner agencies is essential for relevant signposting
- Interview young people to assess their suitability for our housing
- Support young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules in preparation for independent living.Helping young people navigate shared living skills is key to this role and includes facilitating house meetings, rotas and cleaning sessions

Our three Communities Teams are responsible for identifying, investigating and intervening in housing and homelessness practice issues. We engage with our local communities to understand the issues people are facing and apply expert housing knowledge, insight and analysis to identify solutions to them. West Sussex Transitional Housing provides homes for young people in a range of settings across the county. Services provide a low level of support for young people who already have a basic level of daily living skills and can keep themselves safe without daily supervision.Services are staffed Monday to Friday 9 to 5, with some services having on site staff and others visiting staff; all services are supported by a mobile night team who carry out regular safety and security checks. The aim of the service is to enable and empower young people to move on to independent accommodation and articulate and start to achieve their aspirations and ambitions.
We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and support residents into independent accommodation. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building.
We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing:
- Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
- Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
- Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team
Coaching and Engagement:
- Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
- Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community
- Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
- Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)
General:
- Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
- Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
- Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

- Knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to young people and the ability to maintain effective professional boundaries
- Demonstrated confidence and competence in recording notes/actions in service log, incident forms and health and safety check lists
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate recording of a resident’s progression, and to evidence outcomes achieved
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including signposting and advocating for clients as necessary
- Ability to work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills
- Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately

You will be delivering high quality housing advice and advocacy, in line with our local community plans for Merseyside and will work with people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities. You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation, by liaising and advocating with local authorities, housing associations and private landlords. This will include taking referrals from community and advice groups and our National Emergency Helpline, as well people self-referring in person at the Hub.
The role also works in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops to ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their stories, voice their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role. This is a challenging, front-line role where you will have a real opportunity to help people improve their lives.
About you
• Listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities, including people with lived experience of homelessness.

The Merseyside Hub is a team of seventeen, and you will be a key member of the Housing Rights team, defending the right to a safe home. This team works closely with colleagues in our Legal Team as well as our colleagues in community fundraising, community organising and lived experience. Job Purpose:
To support the delivery of WIPs housing programme in Manchester and Trafford, with a focus on women coming into contact with the police and women being released back into the community following a period on remand, providing trauma-informed specialist support to improve housing outcomes for women affected by the criminal justice system.
- To deliver an effective housing intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system.
