We are recruiting for a temporary community fundraising officer for a childrens hospice, this role is 28 hours a week. You will support and inspire groups, schools, faith organisations, and local businesses to fundraise for the hospice, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and connected to the difference they are making. The Role
To act as the first point of contact for our community fundraisers. This includes but is not limited to, recruiting community supporters, responding to enquiries and providing support and advice in relation to supporting the hospice.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with community groups, schools, clubs and local businesses.
Identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities within the hospice catchment area.
To utilise Raisers Edge database to record and track donor interactions.
Organise and deliver, if applicable, presentations and meetings to promote the hospices mission and opportunities for collaboration.
Attend community events, cheque presentations and fundraising activities as a representative of the hospice.
Monitor and report on outreach activity, fundraising income and engagement.

The Relationship Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.
The Relationship Fundraising role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the country of Northern Ireland.
You will report to the Relationship Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Relationship Fundraising & Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, finance, and reporting
· Responsibility for stewardship and relationship building with supporters within the region.
· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with national partnerships in your region.
· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, in accordance with fundraising legislation and good practice.
· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.
· Support the Relationship Fundraising Manager (RFM) and Head of Relationship Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Relationship Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.
· Support and extend volunteer networks within geographical area in line with strategy.
· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across geographical area.
· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload in a cost-effective and proactive way.
Supporter management
· Provide excellent customer service to fundraising supporters, with prompt responses to enquiries, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.
· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.
· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.
· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.
· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Officers, provide high quality account management to corporate supporters within specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.
· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.
· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.
Increasing Community Support within geographical area
· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within geographical area, in line with strategy.
· Manage recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in geographical area, providing relevant support and training.
· Liaise with local community organisations (predominantly golf clubs) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with strategy.
· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.
· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community, spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.
· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with RFM.
· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with RFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with strategy.
· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Relationship Fundraising Manager.
· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

We are looking for an experienced Membership Manager who will help us manage all aspects of our membership programme. This involves maintaining high levels of retention and developing and delivering new recruitment strategies for members across the world.
The role will also focus on developing membership journey programmes to ensure our members receive a top quality service from the Society and that all membership processes are undertaken with efficiency, energy and effectiveness.
The Membership Manager will also play a crucial role in ensuring that we are promoting RSTMH, and its membership offer, to our members and supporters. This person would be the first point of contact for our members and so must be professional, a sound communicator and efficient in their approach.
Part of this role involves creating policies and processes to ensure members feel valued at each stage of their journey with RSTMH, developing new marketing products and materials for recruiting and retaining members where necessary.
The successful applicant will have membership management experience within a relevant charity or learned society and will relish the opportunity to take on a new challenge, working on their own initiative for much of the time.
The role
- Lead on developing and implementing current strategies to increase members of RSTMH, including monitoring and evaluating performance against plans and KPIs
- Analyse, identify and develop plans to optimise member journeys
- Manage enquiries from current/prospective members in a professional, timely manner, to agreed service targets
- Cultivate strong relationships with members and understand their specific needs so that RSTMH can support them most effectively via targeted communications
- Establish and maintain systems to report and evaluate RSTMH’s membership retention and recruitment success
- Deliver reports to keep the team, CEO and Board up to date with progress on membership activities and strategy
- Support the Senior Manager with leading our CRM (CiviCRM) development work
- Work with the team to develop activities and marketing campaigns to improve membership value, recruitment and retention take-up, achieving target conversion rates from other activity areas and feeding into relevant strategies and communications
- Collaborate with department Managers to increase membership recruitment within their stakeholder groups
- Develop and oversee communication templates for members, and ensure these are kept up to date
- Keep up to date with best practice in membership management
- Ensure the RSTMH website, journals, materials and other channels have up to date membership information
- Work with a third-party finance company to ensure membership subscription payments and renewals are processed efficiently and effectively, and ensure payment processes are fit for purpose, including payments from other currencies
- Assist with the agenda and delivery of the International Members Committee to ensure RSTMH’s offering to members and Fellows fulfils the overarching Society strategy and supports membership goals
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to commission and create content for the bi-weekly Members newsletter and membership recruitment campaigns
- Represent RSTMH at relevant events to promote membership and track success of these activities
- Explore new opportunities to expand membership, through new membership types, marketing opportunities or any other means
Person specification
- Passion and commitment to the work and goals of the Society
- At least 3 years' experience of working in a membership role, with experience of recruitment and retention campaigns
- Experience of working in a learned society or membership organisation
- At least 2 years’ experience using CRMs (specific experience with CiviCRM and SearchKit would be highly desirable)
- Experience of developing and delivering successful membership programmes that have increased recruitment and demonstrably reduced attrition.
- Experience of creating compelling messages to different audiences
- Highly organised, with ability to self-plan and prioritise workloads

The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.
This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.
Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.
A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.

The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.

Purpose of the role
The Legal Director provides strategic leadership on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality for ILPA, with a primary focus on legal policy, legislative analysis, member engagement and public influence.
The role is responsible for shaping ILPA’s legal positions, overseeing the quality and coherence of legal analysis across the organisation, and maintaining ILPA’s standing as the leading professional membership body in immigration and asylum law.
Key responsibilities
1. Legal strategy and leadership
In collaboration with the Trustees and Chief Executive, the Legal Director will:
a. Develop and maintain ILPA’s short-, medium- and long-term legal strategy in line with ILPA’s charitable objectives.
b. Identify emerging legal, policy and practice issues affecting immigration, asylum and nationality law.
c. Engage with ILPA members to understand frontline impacts and systemic concerns.
d. Advise the Trustees and Chief Executive on legal policy priorities, organisational positioning and risk.
e. Translate member insight into clear legal and policy positions.
f. Lead ILPA’s legal responses to legislative proposals, consultations and policy initiatives.
g. Ensure ILPA’s legal work remains focused, authoritative and aligned with ILPA’s strategic plan.
2. Policy, parliamentary and public influence
a. Lead ILPA’s engagement on legal and policy matters with government departments, Parliament and public bodies.
b. Draft and oversee consultation responses, parliamentary briefings and policy submissions.
c. Represent ILPA at meetings with Ministers, officials, parliamentarians and sector partners.
d. Provide expert evidence to parliamentary inquiries and committees.
e. Support the Chief Executive in high-level advocacy and external relations where appropriate.

3. Member support and legal expertise
a. Maintain expert-level knowledge of UK and international immigration, asylum and nationality law.

d. Support ILPA’s thematic and regional working groups, including attendance and follow-up actions where appropriate.

4. Relationship with litigation and advice functions
a. Work collaboratively with the Director of Strategic Litigation and Advice to ensure consistency between ILPA’s policy positions and litigation strategy.

5. Management and organisational leadership
a. Line manage the Senior Legal Officer and support the Chief Executive’s HR management function for the Senior Legal Officer
b. Provide strategic direction and professional support to the legal function without direct responsibility for operational casework or project delivery.
c. Contribute as a senior member of ILPA’s management team.
d. Support organisational planning, risk management and reporting.
e. Act as a senior ambassador for ILPA internally and externally.
6. Cross-organisational working
a. Work with the Training Manager to identify emerging legal training needs and priority topics for members.
b. Contribute to the development of training programmes, events and conferences by advising on content and legal accuracy.
c. Support identification of suitable speakers and trainers from within ILPA’s membership.
d. Work with the Content and Digital Services Manager to ensure legal content is accurate, accessible and up to date across ILPA’s digital platforms.
