Hillside Clubhouse is recruiting for a mental health employment specialist to join our dynamic Camden team supporting people with mental health conditions to gain and retain employment.  The role is working within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within an NHS secondary care mental health team based in the heart of Camden.

Who we are: 

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.

The Role: 

The role is within our IPS Service and will be based within a Camden NHS secondary care team. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover, ultimately transforming their lives.

A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to -  a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, and to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health. 

The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from Camden and Islington Foundation Trust.  They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

Overall aim: 

To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

Primary Duties: 

• Manage a caseload of up to twenty clients and work within and apply the 8 principles of IPS in all aspects of role. 
• To work with and enable clients to find work using a mix of conventional approaches and employer engagement. 
• To generate ongoing referrals from the clinical team and to manage those effectively. 
• To engage directly and collaboratively with the clinical team while maintaining the existing multi-disciplinary approach to assisting clients seeking work. 
• To report and meet regularly with clinical team service managers and the IPS Operations manager, and to participate in both casework and clinical supervision from IPS Operations and clinical team services managers. 
• To be an active member of both the clinical and Hillside teams 
• To be responsible for own management of administrative duties tied to both Hillside Clubhouse and clinical team and adhering to existing Hillside and NHS protocols. 
• Source job opportunities specific to client needs from a range of sources including those advertised via current and conventional means, as well as through contact with local and Pan London employers. 
• To build up a network of employers to secure available and future vacancies. 
• To maintain existing and seek out new relationships with a range of external agencies of use to the post. 
• To provide ongoing support to both client and employers (where appropriate) when starting work and until such time as the client makes the decision to end the support provided. 
• To work with clients to collaboratively manage job searching activities and engagement with the service. 
• To manage and meet all KPIs, statistics and documentation as required, including but not limited to: referrals, first meetings, job outcomes, job sustainments of 6, 13 and 26 weeks, and work retention.

This role will be part of our IDVA team in the London Victim and Witness Service. As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Address the safety of victims at high risk of harm
• Serve as a victim's primary point of contact by working with their clients from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk, discuss the range of suitable options and develop safety plans.
• Be pro-active in implementing the plans, including actions from MARAC, which address immediate safety and enable victims to protect themselves and their children, as well as longer term solutions, using sanctions and services via criminal and civil courts, housing options and other organisations.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.

• Improve internal onboarding processes, hold ownership over key GMSN starter assets (e.g. Organigram, joiners handbook)

• Support the team with basic finance reporting and updating trackers, including setting up and maintenance of a variety of fundraising platforms.

• Co-ordinate diary entries for quarterly Trustee and Finance Committee meetings, prepare Board packs, attend meetings, take minutes and ensure minutes are distributed in a timely fashion.

• Support the Head of Finance and Governance with relevant Trustee checks and forms, ensuring compliance with Companies House and Charities Commission.

• Collate monthly quarterly Global Board updates, liaising closely with SMT.

We began a contract with the Ministry of Justice in June 2021, delivering a pan London Housing Advice & Interventions Service, in partnership with St Mungo's. With Single Homeless Project staff co-located in probation offices, you will be working in close partnership with Probation Services, to support people on probation to either sustain their current accommodation or to secure new housing as needed. 

We are seeking people who could deliver housing advice, guidance and support to clients. Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them. 

We are also looking for people who are interested in working in this sector and with this client group.  We encourage applications from those, who are also at the beginning of their career path - graduates and those with transferrable skills & experience.

• Some understanding of working in supported housing or floating support services, with a demonstrable knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation or a relevant qualification

The Westminster Women’s Safe Space is a specialist gender and trauma informed Assessment Centre for women with complex needs who are at risk of, or have experienced domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and have multiple disadvantage. We have a great opportunity for people interested in working as part of an innovate women’s only service in a receptionist role and becoming part of this exciting new team achieving positive outcomes to support the women in their recovery and move on journey.

In this this vital role you will be providing receptionist duties to the service and the team, being the first point of contact for residents and others. Your duties will include:

• Managing the team inbox, keeping information systems up to date and ensuring smooth handovers to other team members.

• Log and follow up on building and maintenance repairs.

• Responding to queries from residents or agencies, following up to ensure outcomes.

• Working on a weekly rota and carrying out regular shifts (early’s, mid’s and late’s) including some weekends.

Summary

As Community Fundraising Coordinator you will be the first point of contact for people fundraising in their community for Diabetes UK. You will be responsible for managing your own supporters, ensuring they receive an excellent experience and raise as much as they can for the charity. Main Responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for people fundraising in their community for Diabetes UK, from doing a skydive to organising a bake sale. You will ensure they receive an excellent experience from the charity and support them to raise as much as they can and become life-long supporters.

You will also provide administrative support to the wider Community Fundraising team and build effective working relationships to do so in a professional, timely and effective way.

Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in providing excellent customer experience, within a charity or another sector. You will also have strong abilities in managing competing deadlines and organising your time effectively to prioritise your workload. You will also be able to effectively build working relationships with your colleagues in a professional manner, and demonstrate high standards of written and verbal communication.

It is not expected that you will have experience of working in a fundraising team, but transferable skills and a passion to learn!

Headway East London is a charity supporting people affected by brain injury. Working across 13 London boroughs we offer specialist support and services for survivors and their family. We offer therapies, advocacy, family support and community support work alongside our day service: a community venue where people can make the most of their abilities and interests.

About the Role

We are looking for a Day Service Co-ordinator to join our art studio team and support people living with brain injury in our day centre in Haggerston.

You will take responsibility for organising and delivering activities in the Submit to Love art studio, such as supporting members in creating new artworks, planning and delivering events and outings, and engaging members in a variety of other activities in response to their needs and interests.

The role also involves providing advocacy and support (key working) for up to 12 members and ensuring the smooth running of the day service as a member of the co-ordinating team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Activities in the art studio:

•  Support members to engage creatively and develop their personal artistic practise.
• Work alongside the studio manager, day service members and volunteers to plan and deliver events, including artist led workshops, exhibitions and open studios.
•  Plan trips to cultural events and experiences.

Key working:

• Act as key worker for up to 16 members, checking in regularly about their engagement in the centre and their general wellbeing, and supporting them with information, advice, and advocacy as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain contact with members’ families, carers, and relevant statutory partners to facilitate good communication and better provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including comprehensive individual risk assessments.

Day Service co-ordination:

• Work closely with colleagues and volunteers in the day service and other teams at Headway East London to create a welcoming, supportive, and stimulating environment for members.
• Share responsibility for practical tasks in the day service to ensure its smooth running.
• Work sensitively with volunteers, supporting them alongside the volunteer co-ordinator to take on meaningful and rewarding roles in the day service.
