About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Special Events Officer on a six month contract to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join the busy Events team.  You will be responsible for assisting the team with the management of existing events to maximise income including the Carol Concert and our Defence Industry Dinner. You will need to work to agreed budgets as well as input to the setting of financial targets. 2024 is a busy year for the Events team, presenting many opportunities to get involved with fast paced, exciting events.

The SSAFA Events team is a small team with a high output, both financially and in terms of number of events produced. We work closely together and thrive to deliver high quality, successful events.

About you

To carry out this role successfully experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating fundraising campaigns is essential and an understanding of the charity sector and ideally a background of working in charity events is desirable. You will be diligent, conscientious and have high attention to detail. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with our supporters in order to manage and grow existing events and relationships.

Every week during term time, children aged 5-11 attend our 90-minute KEEN London sports and games sessions, where they receive personalised support from our dedicated team of volunteer coaches. Our Brent site is the newest addition to the KEEN London community and you'll play a crucial role in its continual development. We have just completed our two year pilot and are looking for a candidate to build on this foundation.  As the Brent Service Coordinator, you'll be solely responsible for the front line delivery of the Brent service: planning, safety, and creating a fun and inclusive environment for all. KEY Responsibilities

YMCA DownsLink Group’s WiSE (What is Sexual Exploitation) Project is an innovative, award winning project working across East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and Surrey, with children and young people experiencing or at risk of sexual exploitation; as well as raising awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and other forms of Child Criminal Exploitation.

We are looking for someone with the confidence to develop a new support offer for Surrey. This new post offers the opportunity to work in the WiSE team in Surrey in an exciting new role which has two strands to it; providing targeted early intervention peer group sessions to young people (up to 25 years,) who have been identified by their educational placement as being vulnerable too sexual or criminal exploitation. The role also entails working alongside Education and other agencies to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls by creating and facilitating training to teachers of the PSHE curriculum in both Primary and Secondary schools in Surrey. The successful applicant will be supported in the role through Reflective Supervision Practice, along with regular one-to-ones. 

This role will be based out of a Police Station in Surrey, which can be discussed at interview. There will be frequent travel and it is essential you hold a current driving license and have access to your own car.

About the role:

This role is home working based with travel in the London Area.

As a Homicide Service Children's and Young People caseworker you will be:

• Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide.
• Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.

The role

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £26,000 – £29,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer. Are you interested in working for a charity that makes a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults? 

This role involves making sure the assessment centre satisfies health and safety standards that are expected in regards to cleanliness. This role is hugely important in making difference to our clients who have just come inside after rough sleeping. You will be part of a team that is achieving positive outcomes to support the vulnerable adults in their recovery and move on. You will play a vital role in providing high standard cleaning in the building.

In this role you will: 

• Provide cleaning to all areas of the building including some bedrooms and communal areas. 

• Complete regular inventories of materials and inform management of when items are running low so that they can be ordered.  Pass repairs in to the Housing management part of the team.

Work to a cleaning schedule to ensure all parts of the building are cleaned on a regular basis.

About you 

You will have good working knowledge of Health and Safety, a basic knowledge of IT and be comfortable working alone. You will possess effective communication skills and approach your work and clients in a non-judgemental way.
