Job description

Become our Volunteer Event Administrator and help our organisation to ensure we can increase our support to even more Young People living with long-term illness!

Bright Futures UK is a charity that supports young people who are forced to take time out from education due to chronic illness. We provide programmes that stimulate learning and provide a social aspect which offer respite to young people who have become extremely isolated due to long-term illness.

We are looking for an experienced events administrator who can help us to complete administration tasks required to support and maintain effective delivery of events to recruit and support volunteers who deliver services to our young people living with long-term illness. 

Allowing us to ensure we have the numbers of volunteers required to help our organisation to support more young people through our befriending, mentoring, tutoring, and in-person workshops. Whilst ensuring we are providing opportunities for our volunteers to feel part of the Bright Futures community.

 The Volunteer Events Administrator will:

• Co-ordinate efforts with our volunteer manager to plan and create a robust calendar of events to support volunteer recruitment and retention.

This will include:

• Creating a detailed event plan’s that includes the event's purpose, goals, budget, timeline, and logistics.

• Work with the volunteer manager to recruit and screen volunteers to help with event planning and execution.

• Support the project management of events on Asana.

• Co-ordinate efforts with our staff and Volunteer manager.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

• Good organisational and administrative skills

• Empathy and understanding for young people with chronic illness

• Excellent communication and administrative skills in event and project planning

• Reliability and trustworthiness

• A friendly and approachable manner

Location

We are seeking to recruit administrator who is home-based, if you can access London for occasional team days this would be desirable.

Time commitment

We ask that you can commit 5-8 hours per week for a minimum 10-week period. With a view to extending beyond subject to your availability.
