This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across lots of projects at the same time. Your main focus will be managing our staff training programme, supporting with the recruitment and onboarding of new staff and overseeing our office functions. You'll also look after some of our financial admin as well as providing some executive support for our Board of Trustees. We're a small team of 30 staff and the role is a hybrid, designed to support all aspects of the central functions of the Charity.
Your HR responsibilities (around 3 days a week), will be to:
- maintain accurate HR records for all staff
- manage and administer our HR platform, Employment Hero
- co-ordinate our annual training schedule, manage the training budget and oversee our external trainers
- lead on the recruitment and onboarding of new staff
- oversee our DBS Records
- develop and oversee staff inductions
- manage the timesheets and payroll for Ignition Brewery, the Charity’s trading subsidiary
- lead the organisation in becoming a Disability Confident employer
- contribute to the development of the our HR policies and procedures
Your admin responsibilities (around 2 days a week), will be to:
- act as the office manager, ensuring that staff offices are maintained in a neat and tidy fashion
- act as Secretary for the Board of Trustees and Risk & Finance sub-committee, organising meetings and taking minutes
- manage service users' personal account records
- send out monthly statements to parent-carers and follow up on overdue accounts
- support the CEO and Finance Manager with the development and roll-out of new digital platforms as the service grows
- organise staff events such as annual training days, Christmas parties, etc…
- monitor stock levels and order supplies
- manage petty cash
- maintain our public noticeboards
- answer telephone and email enquiries
You'll also support our service delivery team at major events (e.g. annual show, sports day, etc…) and establish and maintain excellent working relationships with parent-carers, external agencies, funders, local authorities and other external stakeholders.
What we need from you (the essentials):
- a minimum of one years’ experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- good written skills, with an ability to produce reports and other relevant documentation using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- strong organisational skills with an ability to plan ahead and work across different areas of the charity simultaneously
- an ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- meticulous attention to detail with an ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently

The Charity
The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to deliver, manage and support our YAT Adventure Programme.
Responsibilities will include:

Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the Adventure Programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting residential adventure camps and activity days throughout the year.

Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require.

Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme.

Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

Taking the lead with day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people.

Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

Role Purpose
You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.
You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.
In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.
Main Duties
Corporate Partnership
- Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
- Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
- Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
- Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
- Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
