Are you passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation? Want to use your skills to support a grassroots charity doing powerful work with young people in London? DFY Sports is looking for new trustees to help us grow, reach further, and have even greater impact.

Who we are

DFY Sports helps young people aged 4–15 from underserved communities flourish through sport. Based in Brent and active across surrounding boroughs, we deliver PE sessions, after-school clubs, holiday camps, football training, and run an ambassador programme connected to our founding sports agency, ISC.

We’ve grown fast—and we’re just getting started. As we scale over the next 1–3 years, we’re looking for passionate trustees to help shape that journey.

Trustees meet quarterly (with pre-reads shared a week in advance). You’ll bring your experience and perspective to guide DFY’s future and support our mission at a strategic level.

We’re currently looking for trustees in the following areas:

• Ensure safeguarding policies are robust, compliant and actively implemented
• Support our DSL to report risks, share learning and update the board
• Help shape a safeguarding-first culture across all activities

✅ Marketing & Communications

• Help define and strengthen DFY’s brand and public voice
• Grow our online presence and support outreach to media and partners
• Guide the team on strategic communications and storytelling

✅ Network & Fundraising

• Open doors to donors, sponsors and collaborators through your network
• Support events and campaigns that raise both funds and awareness
• Offer fresh ideas for sustainable income generation

✅ Finance

• Provide oversight of budgets, reporting, and financial controls
• Support long-term financial planning and risk management
• Ensure funds are well managed and spent with integrity

✅ Community

• Champion the needs and voices of the local community in Brent and NW London
• Build connections with local schools, grassroots groups and families
• Help us stay rooted, responsive and inclusive in everything we do

⚽ Your core responsibilities as a trustee will include:

• Attending quarterly board meetings
• Reading board materials in advance and actively participating
• Contributing to DFY’s strategic direction and key decisions
• Supporting your specific area of responsibility, as outlined above

You don’t need to have trustee experience, just care, commitment, and the willingness to bring your skills to a team working to create lasting change for young people through sport. Training and support can be provided.

The AdAmi Project is on the hunt for a dedicated volunteer Safeguarding Trustee to join our friendly Board! You’ll help ensure young mothers in Sierra Leone are protected and supported as they rebuild their lives. We’re looking for someone with safeguarding knowledge, a collaborative spirit, and a strong commitment to accountability and care. Your guidance will help keep our work safe, ethical, and grounded in dignity.

WHO WE ARE

The AdAmi Project works together with young mothers in Bo district, southern Sierra Leone, to build happy, healthy and independent lives. We facilitate opportunities, foster hope, reunify families, build community and amplify the voices of young mothers so that they can be the drivers of their own lives.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Safeguarding representative on the Board of Trustees, your primary responsibility is to ensure that safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of the AdAmi Project’s work. You will provide support, oversight, and guidance to help protect the young mothers we serve.

Summary of additional responsibilities: 

1. Leadership & Oversight

• Serve as the Trustee’s lead for safeguarding and provide an update at quarterly Board of Trustee meetings.

• Provide oversight on safeguarding practices with our local partners and respond to any concerns appropriately.

2. Policy & Practice

• Support the implementation and regular review of safeguarding policies and practices for AdAmi UK and our local partners.

• Ensure policies comply with UK Charity Commission guidance and are appropriately contextualised to Sierra Leone.

3. Training & Awareness

• Ensure all staff, volunteers and Trustees at AdAmi UK and our local partners receive appropriate safeguarding training on a regular basis. 

• Promote a safeguarding culture and continuously share best practices.

4. Monitoring & Reporting

• Regularly review safeguarding reports and incident logs.

• Advise on managing safeguarding concerns or disclosures.

• Support risk assessments related to safeguarding.

Required commitment:

• Attend quarterly Board of Trustee meetings held virtually for up to two hours. 

• Liaise with local partners to review quarterly safeguarding reports and provide feedback on safeguarding best practices, as well as ensure teams receive refresher training at least once annually. 

• Ad hoc preparation and/or review of key safeguarding documents and policies.

• Represent the Board of Trustees at AdAmi Project fundraising and awareness raising events, as and when is required (a few times a year, maximum).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in safeguarding, ideally within the international development sector 

• Understanding of safeguarding policy, risk management, and best practice

• Ability to advise on sensitive issues with care, cultural awareness, and professionalism

• Willingness to liaise with partners in Sierra Leone and engage with safeguarding reports

• Commitment to AdAmi’s mission of supporting young mothers to rebuild their lives

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote team setting

• Thoughtful, reflective, and able to handle complex issues with discretion

• Reliable, responsive, and collaborative in board discussions

• Warm, encouraging, and positive — even when tackling serious topics

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need.

IAPWA are currently seeking an Adventure Co-ordinator to join their UK team to support their ‘Adventures for Animals’ fundraising initiative.

From helping to create exciting adventures in the UK and overseas to promoting them and supporting trip participants, the Adventure Co-ordinator will be part of a team who are passionate about developing incredible adventures worldwide to make a difference to the lives of animals in need.

Although this is a voluntary role, there are extensive travel benefits available. Please note: the majority of the adventures offered by the charity involve hiking, mountaineering and cycling, among other active pursuits and so all applicants need to be comfortable taking part in these kinds of activities.

Birkbeck Students' Union is looking for two exceptional individuals to join our Board of Trustees as volunteer Lay Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the student experience at Birkbeck, guiding our strategic direction and ensuring we continue to support and enrich the lives of our diverse student body.

Role Overview: As a Lay Trustee, you will attend and actively participate in five Board of Trustee Meetings and five Finance & Audit Committee meetings per year. Your strategic oversight and governance will help ensure the Students' Union operates in line with its mission, values, and legal obligations. You will provide guidance and insight based on your expertise in one of the following areas Cybersecurity; Fundraising; Legal; and Marketing.
