Job description

At Home-Start Cymru, we work to influence the government and other decision-makers to ensure that every family in Wales has the support they need to give their children the best start in life.

We are looking to recruit a Policy and Public Affairs Officer who will play a key part in this through policy, advocacy and research. You will give families and children a strong voice in policy and decision making across Wales through developing a robust evidence base for change.

With a solid understanding of the policy context in Wales, you will have good political awareness and a proven track record of successfully influencing politicians and decision-makers. A strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and a good eye for detail, you will have the ability to effectively review and report data and information to varying audiences. You will be passionate about the issues facing families and children and about pushing our ideas forward eloquently to ensure that our policy and influencing work has a real impact.

You will join a young and ambitious charity and be part of a high-performing yet fun and supportive team. A pivotal part of our central team, you will be extremely motivated and able to work on your own initiative. Working closely with the senior team, you will be able to learn from those around you and shape and grow the role as the organisation matures.
